The TARE button on the scale is there so that you can take away the weight of the container without having to write anything down

Leave it on there at 7.3 and hit tare. It'll subtract the weight of the vial and tell you the weight of the contents. Just for future reference. I worked in a pawn shop for many years and you wouldn't believe what people bring in

Need to rough your pan up with some gravel . I use sand paper , also put a little jet dry in the water as a surfactant cause light gold will float , also work on your panning technique, take like 3-4 lead fishing weights put it in some dirt and pan.if you still got your lead weights when your done your doing it correctly , but you want your pan to be roughed up cause the slick oils just let's things wash out. You want it nice and sticky .. also eureka paydirt sucks.. go with some klesh or miners depot also if you get a magnet will take some of the heavy blacks sands out . Make it easier for panning. I put mine on the front of my sluice when I'm out , got a video of you want to check it out. Helps tremendously !

There is no making money off of these no matter how many you buy. And yeah, that Amazon add sounds misleading by saying that if you buy 3, one will have the "motherload". That's such b.s. They are good for practice, for new and aspring prospectors, that's it. Starting out prospecting without some practice panning will just make things more difficult. If you don't know how to pan, you can't trust that you aren't missing gold when prospecting. So you buy one bag. And pan into a large container like you did. Then when you're done. You can drain the water, let the dirt dry and add the gold back in for future practice. Or you can just get some new dry dirt.

Yes Dan hurd is the beard of knowledge Yes I can see this is your first time but that is okay everybody has to learn how to use a gold pan and a Snuffer bottle at the beginning Yes you can take their advice and watch Dan hurd How I learned how to do it hours of watching( how to go pan for beginners) videos on RU-vid and videos( how to use a gold pan) and there is also videos (how to use a Snuffer bottle) I also learned how by just gold panning you also can put some BB's about five of them in dirt to practice if you still have your five BB's after you've panned it you did it right and did not lose them out the front of the pan The reason why your Snuffer bottle wasn't working properly you had too much water in it You don't need that much water I wouldn't put more than a half of your Snuffer bottle with water and that still a little too much but less than a half as you have the point of the Snuffer bottle at your gold push in the middle on the bottle release it it will suck it up in your bottle but the RU-vid videos will also help you keep doing this you will get the hang of it it will get easier more you do it

its a rigged game. the pay dirt is processed for gold once then flake is added ( or trace amounts remain) and it is sold. nobody is ever going to find a nugget
