They are ridiculously expensive and I’m not convinced by their photos on IG that the material is quality. So thankful for you channel and reviews. Thank you!
@@SLUMLXRD they aren't worth it. I would rather buy a pair of Ufpro tactical pants, which is significantly better quality, better versatility and better feel.
The pants honestly aren't that bad construction-wise. The material is pretty robust, but they're not breathable and it's pretty stiff. It's quite uncomfortable to wear, had one of it once, would totally avoid their jackets though.
Whenever a brand has such a shit return policy I simply won't order out of principle. It basically tells you they don't have faith in their product and they expect a lot of returns, which is why they either don't allow it or make it as difficult as possible.
Im not inspired by the return policy either, but in the interest of fairness I do think they probably had to deal with a bunch of "influencers" buying these for 1 or 2 photos and then trying to return them. Wouldnt surprise me. And if thats the case then I think theyre probably justified in how they tried to crack down on it. Too bad it has a negative unintended result in completely tanking confidence in the brand.
not realy... tthe return policy in indonesia is deferent... many brand in indonesia do it like that because many people return it with fake of their brand or their produc damage to much just to have money back...
@@AbbiAbii yup true, back then most Indonesian abuse the old policy to get a refund until all store decided to change it and we have this new policy. I guess we already used to it
Depends on who they sell to.....alot of you in the west are living in failing societies with failing cultures and among other things return rates are absolutely exploding. One of my old jobs used this theory and made returns difficult only for certain regions, and you could see the problem areas spreading fast. In the US it was spreading from the 3 coasts. (and no that's not why I think society is failing, but watching those red zones spreading may or may not have finally convinced me. It is what it is.)
@@ChadDidNothingWrong "Failing societies with failing cultures"? Are you drunk or high on drugs? And "failing" compared to what? Indonesia? 😂 Dude, that's such a dumb and ignorant gerneralized statement...
The more confident you get, the funnier your videos are! I was dead laughing at the hostage... erm unboxing video! Getting miles out of those Aeons too I see, now in both colors! heh heh. got to say I picked up the black ones when they dropped and are my fav shoe right now. just so fun to wear.
Yeah I agree, you can see that Antwon put a lot of effort into the editing and it really shows! Keep up the good work Antwon! Your videos are amazing 👏🏻
As someone who has these pants and wears em pretty regularly here's my two cents on long term wear! - The main centerpiece straps that go between the legs that nylon material within about 2-3 months of decent use will start having little singular strands fray and break and from that point on the straps wont be that solid rectangle but instead have slight edges of broken strap that can never be fixed and HOLY GRAIL does not sell those straps by themselves so once they break.... ur done. - The straps by the ankle used to cinch and tighten are kinda poorly sewn into the leg which i can tell you all it takes is 1 little tug and they will rip out and youll only have 1 ankle able to be tightened, if you know how to sew or have a family member or a seamstress nearby they should be able to just reattach them but for pants that cost so damn much and are supposed to seem like they can take a beating they are surprisingly weak to any real wear. - The velcro used for some of the pockets very quickly wear out, idk if this is just velcro as a whole or maybe the brand they use but it takes about 3 good open and closes for them to never seal back perfectly again. - The material used is a bit rough, and definitely does not help with any kind of real breathability, if you are skinny a thankfulness is that itll probably be wide around you but if you fill out the pants and live in any kind of non-winter permanent climate you will sweat nonstop.... ik bc i live in Florida(and im one of the skinny fuckers too 6'3 and only 145 lbs). - If you are a male and used to jeans or pants that have a zipper in the front, these lack them, and the way the pants are designed means that any kind of reason youd want to maybe not fully expose yourself and your ass but gain access to inside the pants, like idk trying to use a urinal, forget about it. These pants are so rigid and stiff you have to use a stall bc to get any kind of bananas out requires pulling the entirety of the waist section down. (if i can think of any more ill edit this, and if anyone else has anything to add or questions feel free to reply)
@@onyx_vi i couldnt resist and bought them anyways. but i will only wear them in club etc. for festival i foud cheap ones on aliexpress. (they are a fake from the fabric of the universe ones, quality is okay even though its a fake)
To be honest, I do not understand the reasons behind warcore I mean just buy a pair of es.motion and a climbing harness from Skylotec, this way you still got those straps and a pair of pretty good cargo pants, just got to make them loose enough Also those straps will be really usable and you could trust your life on them... And you will still look edgy while walking through the city with both of those
M56 & HOLYGRAIL are brands focused on the "aesthetic" more than actual "functionalities". I bought a few of them and I prefer to warn you guys, if you are a fast walker like me these pants make some awkward noises 😅 it might feel kinda cringey but who cares.
@@colbyboucher6391 I recently just bought a pair of M56 pants in gold/yellow and I am telling everyone now being quiet is not a thing they're LOUD when you walk and everyone knows you're coming lmfao
Being loud when you walk is a problem? Doesn't everyone make noise when they walk anyway? My acronym prestos make lots of noise when I walk... is that meaning that acronym and nike overall are not built from technicality? Not sure but...
I bought the blp 02s a couple of years ago and they fulfill their purpose; they make you stand out and it's quite easy to create a look with them, just don't wear them if you're going to be going through many stairs, or walking a lot. As usual, great review. I thought you were shorter.
I found your channel a year ago and I have to say it’s greatly helped me evolve my style and perspective on fashion. I used to buy from the drop shippers you discussed in older videos and your channel helped me become more aware of the shady practices of “techwear” retailers. Your videos have really helped me appreciate performance clothing and made me want to dip my foot into “true techwear” and not these fast fashion, edgy retailers. While I do enjoy the overly edgy straps and aesthetics of something like holy grail, I can now differentiate high quality over something of low quality like techwear club. I guess what I’m trying to say is, thank you for providing content that can help new people wanting to dip their toes into this subculture like me, and thank you for helping me find the balance in my style I needed 🙏
I’ve had a pair of holy grails for about a year now the main problem I think of is the breathability is pretty bad for summer but since its mostly cold in canada It really don’t matter. Straps don’t get in the way as you walk if you size right But my malfunction was the loop that connects to the back pocket ripped out so it kinda just hangs till i sew it :/
Sorry to hear you had an issue with your pair as well - at least it's an easy fix I hope! They're better in colder climates for sure (unfortunately it's pretty warm in the UK atm!). You do have to be a bit careful though as very poor breathability can mean if you start sweating the moisture gets trapped leaving you suddenly VERY cold! Fine if you're just walking around though obviously
@@striife4823 I definitely thought about it but I wouldn’t do it unless you wanna get snagged on everything and be hot af while running carrying all your gear
@@striife4823 Not really a good idea. Pants from airsoft brands or even military surplus will serve you way better, longer, and in most cases for cheaper.
Hello, Indonesian here The practice of " you need to record stuff to complaint " is surprisingly really common here. My guess as to why tho are shaky as heck, but here's my guess The first one is the stuff here are mad cheap, refunding or returning an item is and usually is more expensive than the product itself The second one is false refund, where the company is starting up, has a little amount of money and cannot afford to offer refund unless really necessary The third one is even the big companies ( even from western brand ) doesn't offer refund here, if you bought an item, you cannot refund it, only warranties are given Hope these helps i guess (??)
Um, actually... Some of the online marketplaces here do have free shipping for returns... agreed with the second point though, sometimes people here can be a jerk lol... For the third, I haven't bought anything from the west so i'm going no comment on it
dope video, I'm 5'10" on the slim side and bought a size L. They look just like they did in the pics on their insta as they did on me. If you seriously pull on the straps they will pop out which is what ended up happening to me thanks to my niece. Luckily I knew someone who could sew. I got them back on extra tight so that's something to be weary of. I usually wear the ankle straps super tight to give off that baggy top half slim lower half like Adidas pants do. The pants themselves are kinda heavy for pants and even strapped up around the waist they'll sag a little if I have too much in my pockets. Other than that everything you said is on point
I looked at the price of one of those type pants one day, read the "NO REFUNDS no matter what" and all I could think was that it'd probably be cheaper to buy a machine, learn to sew, buy the material and make the bloody pants myself.
lol I actually do this, taking inspirations from the brand, bought a pair of cargo pants, few metres of straps, bunch of buckles, put them together and I have my own "holy grail" techpants. Very comfortable because I'm gonna be the only one that's wearing it
Can we get a short on what it's like to wash these? I've read some real horror stories about the care of these pants and ruining them in the wash. Though based on the velcro strap my hopes aren't very high lol
so I own a pair have for a few months now, how you wash them at least what I do is you remove the outside detachable buckles then flip the pants inside out, run it on light wash cold, and do not put them in the dryer, simply hang them up to fully air dry and you'll be fine.
I almost fucked up my washing machine and my pants because I didn't know my cargo pants with 10000 straps will turn into a killer machine itself. So please take off everything u can take off and turn ur pants from inside out. :)
washing really isnt that bad, it actually does have on the pants their idea washing settings, biggest annoyance is if you dont take off the straps or flip em inside out then you can hear the straps clank around. They say air dry them (i seriously would recommend that as well) but if you do use a dryer then the slamming clanking of the plastic straps will be louder than lawnmowers and you can really mess up the material if its too hot
I feel like the target group for these would be entirely satisfied with the much cheaper Taobao/dropshipped products. The quality, price, and especially their approach to customers is just nonsensical.
I really needed this kind of video before I ordered these pants to see if I really needed them or not 😄. I really wanted these pants for over a year and a few days ago I finally got them. Shipping didn't take too long, of course it took more than was said (they said it will take 9-12 days, but it took 3 weeks for me), but it's better than several months, like how it was for those people who ordered during the Covid time. The fact that surprised me is that the pants are very heavy (1.5 kg), but it doesn't seem to bother me yet. I personally really like the way they look, the only con is the material, more specifically, it's not stretchy. Maybe after wearing it for a longer time I will notice some other cons. As for the size... I don't know, I usually choose the size L for all my pants and I took it this time too, and everything fits great. Also, for those who plan to buy these pants in the future as I looked and if I understood correctly, the model BLP-04 is sold out and they won't restock ever again. Of course, there is a new model that is very similar to this, but I personally don't like the elements that have changed. Anyways, thanks for your review, it's interesting to look at other people's opinions about these pants. :)
Filming while you’re opening the item is actually a very common practice in south east Asia, as a means to deter fraudulent claim. Southeast Asia business have a much much lower profit margin and thus seller cannot tolerate a much more relaxed return-policy as in the “west” . So there’s nothing really strange about that.
coming from the manufacturer's country, I can attest to that video unboxing thing although I must say it's really weird that they make it really difficult to return and refund as they don't seem to be working on a lower profit margin (only an assumption from the price point of their stuffs). I got cheaper local tactical boot manufacturer which I could confirm working on a tighter margin with better return policy than this brand
Could you do a video about Fabric of the Universe? Also a brand thats seen often on Instagram and I defenetly think it be interesting to know how good they actually are 🤔
I actually bought this pair and i am really stoked with my purchase, wish i got the headgear with it too since shipping is a pain. took about 3 weeks from placing my order as well. i would recommend these for photoshoots more than anything.
Got these pants at the beginning of 2021 in L size (1.80m ~65kg) and they fit great, not tight at all. While it might not be on best quality teachwear standards I still feel great going out with them and I got a lot more comments on them from people than before, even the cashier from a supermarket asked what kind of techwear pants are they lolo so yeah honestly they look really really aesthetically pleasing for me so I'm happy with them. Not long ago they also released the B.L.P-04 V2 which are the newer improved version, the material is now more of a polyester, and more flexible I'd say, maybe less breathable but they changed the straps and a bit of the details. I didn't expect them to be that bad compared to real brand techwear but again it just looks good 🦝
Glad they fit you well! They're attention-grabbing for sure so I'm not surprised they get noticed by the general public. I did see that new version - if the material is indeed an improvement that would make a different to how wearable these are for sure. Not sure if I like the new shiny straps though
@@ThisIsAntwon same, these shiny straps arent only worse from the look imo but they arent that stretchy and moveable so some functions look weird when i make the pants thinner on the bottom because they stretch out very noticeable for example. well at least these new straps can't be damaged like urs are.
The unboxing video is prevalent in Southeast Asia because there’s a lot of scammer customers abusing the return systems here. Just a bit of perspective!
I have 3 pairs from them and as much as I love the aesthetics of them, they do tend to just fall apart after some time. I’ve had 2 pairs have issues mainly the ankle tightening straps or the back pocket loops pop stitching and need sewing back on. I’m a tattoo artist so there’s not much movement from my end this is just wearing casually at work sitting down most of the day. But as someone who is more on the cyber punk look, I still like to wear them regardless because I mean, frick they look sweet lol. definitely want to put a warning out there that they can have malfunctions depending on how often you wear them.
I've owned a pair of Holy Grail for about 3 years now, tbh I think they're pretty comfy and if you're going for that look are "Aesthetically pleasing" but I do wish that they wouldn't cost like 200€
Love ur vids man. I would really like it if you made another video with like the complications of all those more budget brands you’ve talked about before. Take care and look forward to your next vid.
I can say the filming while unboxing is related to the e-commerce environment here in Indonesia, lots of return fraud happened during the early days, thus the unboxing videos.
If you want wearable, sturdy and functional cargopants...buy the latest Snickers or Blakleader construction workpants. available near you at any professions retailer.
just something you can take note for buying stuff online specially in indonesia or buying online from indonesian company, they want video proof of you unboxing because most of the time in indonesia people often lie about packages things, such as damaging while opening the product and blame it to company or the delivery guy, and some people take advantage like when a company trying to say sorry to their customer they often give more things maybe like a hat, bracelets or other accessories.
i have 3 different kinds of these pants from their site, im 5'9 and have a 38inch waist, i wear a size xl, if you have bigger hips then you'd need to get a bit larger because the waist doesn't stretch that much, i ddidn't really care about the length of the pants because i wear a pair of 14eye gripfast boots i also have their H-G B.O.M.B-04/BLCK jacket, and found a B.PRK jacket on ebay not to long ago, i also have 2 jackets from machine56, the MS-BOMBER D3_B1 and MS/B-TYPE_V3-BK i mean sure in the summer it's going to kinda get hot but even wearing shorts and a tshirt it can still be hot, but i was also wearing all these pants and jackets in the winter and it kept me warm (im from manitoba canada, manitoba can be +30-40C in summer, and -30-40C in winter) i've had people say they liked them, one of the people had some "techwear" pants from some site i can't remember (probably a dropshipper), said they were a xxxl, and just by looking at the person wearing them, id never fit in them the only down side to them is that you have to hand wash them (not all the time if you wipe your ass properly) and yes their are people who wear this stuff out in public, not just for some photoshoots
These pants remind me of a video I saw years ago, where one guy dressed all like this with tactical clothes and stuff got beaten up by a casual dude in a metro hahah
hey im in this video! great review! I agree, these pants are not ideal for daily wear but good looks for photoshoots which is what i primarily use them for!
Holygrail or Holyfail, I will leave that in the middle but I'm sure their marketing team is bigger then the people that work for customer service. @This Is Antwon: can we expect more video's about Holygrail products? As I'm very curious to their jackets... Would love to hear from you.
I'm not well-versed in fashion so i can't really comment on anything, but the only thing i can talk a bit about is the return policy. In Indonesia, yes that's the common / standard for returning item you purchased online, and in my experience you don't actually have to record it when you first open it, you can open the package by cleanly cut it open at 1 side then take out the box inside, just open every single thing carefully and examine if there's any defect on the product. If there's one, you can put everything back to the boxes and packages then tape it up a bit with the same tape color. Then "record when you open it", and send them the video. That works for me, but I live in Indonesia, so can't really say if it would also works outside. Don't know why they would use the same return policy for international consumers. Well good luck for anyone who need to return some stuff purchased online.
For the record if you used credit card you can just chargeback. Their return policy is a violation of the mastercard/visa policies, and those reign supreme (but don't expect to order anything from them again after lol)
I'm from Indonesia and it's common thing to film yourself while opening the package it's actually sucks but it helps brand because there were some cases where customer lying to brand, anyway i followed ur tiktok nice vid fam
Im currently looking for jackets that have the Acronym Sling feature, but from brands that are more affordable and still good quality, maybe you can make a video on that? unless you already made one.
I just came across your video and I'm very thankful for it since I've always asked myself, if the holygrail-stuff would be a good deal. I'm really 100% into the looks of them but considering the prices and size issues, I wouldn't wanna risk ordering any of their stuff simply for the reason of their refund policy. If you're buying some 50 bucks-pants that might be okay. But for about 200 dollars that's ridiculous in my eyes...
just some interesting fact, the no return policy if you're not filming the unboxing, its actually pretty normal in indonesia in fact most of the online store would ask that, it is pretty weird but idk and when it started to become like that
I wear Holy grail for more of a casual streetwear look rather than full on warcore or cyberpunk. like my combination for them is the stay cold apparel with Holy grail and air raid Jordan or during winter a combination with machine 56.
Ngl I grew up in a family that has all been in the war from aircraft, medical or straight up war in Vietnam To them now having a grandchild that has a warcore style 💀
I have some pairs of holy grails that i bought early in the pandemic, haven't worn any of them bc i gained weight and they already were a crazy tight fit :(
Given how often even the most high quality brands have inaccurate size charts, those return/exchange parameters would make purchasing these a hard pass
Probably more it being in Asia rather than being all that inaccurate. As a European I often have the same problem with American or even French sizes. Sizes are just very not universal.
Thank you sooo much for posting this video! Been wanting these exact HG pants for a while but as I’m 166cm and considered ”mid-sized” I’m anywear between M-XXL in bottoms…If their return policy wasn’t this bad I’d buy a couple of sizes to try. Will unfortunately have to skip on these 😅
I wish i saw their size chart before i bought mine. I swear i looked and large seemed good enough for me, but im about your same measurements, and if you think using the pockets are hard in those imagine having a way harder time in some smaller ones. You'll lose your knuckles getting your keys. Overall though, the size on mine being so small is my only complaint. They are very rigid and make alot of noise, but i find that for the price and for the wild aesthetic, and the craftsmanship of the pants, they are a decent buy when they're on sale, and all black like me and antwon have is a great colorway to go with.
I really like the design but all of the things you brought up make me hesitant to buy them. I'm not going to spend $200 on something that I can only use to take pictures in... If I'm paying anything more than $70 they need to be wearable for at least 10 years. Because I have some old Levi's that I got while I was in high school that are still usable to this day.
I gotta say they are not rlly beathable, i got the BLP04 and the BLP-V02. I love both of the pants, but the BLP04 is out of a rlly hard fabric, especially the cargo Pockets. For everyday use the BLP-V02 is way better. The pockets are way softer and the whole pants feel more confortable. So if u wanna Stick for the Warcore look (like me) but want more comfort, go for the BLP-V02. But remind.. they are still not like a Jogger or smth from a comfort perspective
Hey I just discovered your channel and I really love it! I don’t know if you did a video about a brand called BLACKTAILOR but they have some warcore clothes too.
