I got the frostflow for an intel i5 12600k. It's a 240mm on top as exhaust, with three generic fans at front of a generic mesh-front case, as intake. The result is the CPU around 32 C while I work, and about 40-45 while I play - medium high on 60fps. It's insanely good, and the price can't be beaten!

I got the black version and just the ID emblem on pump lights up white. It looks sick in a tinted tempered glass case. You can get better cooling. So for reference a 240mm AIO isn't going to be stressed by anything in the i3 or even i5 range: you really need to test this with a Ryzen 7 3800X or Core i7 12700K - that's about the highest TDP chips a 240mm can handle so the AIO will actually have to deal with the heat. An i3 can use passive cooling without losing boost and never throttle
@hardwiredreview

Exactly this. that i3 wouldn't hardly heat up the absolute worst intel stock air cooler let alone a 240mm AIO. I understand he says its for a budget its not really good info and should at least have a disclaimer. People will be mad when they throw this on a higher TDP chip and all the sudden they are seeing temps almost twice as high as he reported and think the cooler is defective or something.
@walter274
@walter274 9 месяцев назад
I've been using it on my i7-12700k, and it's been fine. You can upgrade the fans if you want and upgrade the thermal paste, which will squeeze a few degrees of performance out of this, if you really want to.

Recent problems with AIO pumps make you wonder what kind of quality pump they use and whether it will go the distance. The characteristics you cover are only half the information needed to know if this pump will have clogging problems. It's whether this unit will clog and stop working and they got these pumps on the cheap. You worry about if this is why it's so inexpensive.

I swapped my ID cooling with noctura fans and it greatly reduced my cpus temps. It also helped with fan noise. They dropped 4 degrees from my H150 elite and with the id cooler plus upgraded fans I paid 145$ where as the Corsair H150i elite was almost 230/240$. Never mount the pump in the front with the radiator tubes high like he did. Mount with the tubes low or the top configuration is better. Air rises in liquid and as the liquid evaporates, cooling will fail in a short period of time. It only takes a thimble full of air in the system to screw up your pump and coolant flow. He said it was not bubbling when mounted in front that's probably due to lower coolant flow. As a PC tech, many times have I seen water cooling systems fail due to this type of tube high front mounting.
@hardwiredreview
@hardwiredreview Год назад
The top configuration was not better as it caused unwanted pump noise. This orientation works great as I have confirmed with stress tests that the coolant is flowing adequately. Also, more importantly, there was not any noise. Because the top of the radiator and the pump are almost even, I have no concerns with this setup. Mounting with the tubes in the bottom got in the way of my PSU and put too much strain on the tubing and valves. Before you come to my channel and correct me, maybe do some more research yourself and consider my situation.
