@@robertlawler1387 if the seller considers it scrap, he should be able to part for it for scrap price. That would have been the decent thing to do. Instead he hustled someone. I remember hearing about times when Americans wanted to help the next generation, now it's all greed.
I agree. I saw a kid about 12 years old that collects scrap for money and when I saw him passing, I stopped him and got some scrap wire and some copper I had been saving back to help him out. More adults need to be supportive of kids doing things that aren't harmful to anyone.
Man, this one had me smiling the whole time! What a great time. I just rescued a 50 year old 14' Sears flat bottom Jon boat from the woods, fought with DWR for a couple months to get it registered, managed to score a pristine 2hp Honda outboard... All in time for the winter haha! I'm looking forward to some great adventures with it.
Hey man I’d love to see that thing in action! I got a 16 foot discovery that’s getting a “fresh” 1989 25 horse merc 2 stroke and hope it doesn’t leave me stranded on the Delaware river! I’ll be filming that as well!
@@ryandykenga487 Heck yeah man, that sounds like a fun setup right there. I have a short on my channel of my little boat and motor, I have since rebuilt the transom and am still working out some carb issues but I think it will be perfect for exploring all the tidal creeks around me
Lived off of Bodkin Ave through out my childhood and basically spent my summers with my friends on the Bodkin creek . We used my friends aluminum V hull just like yours. Brought back fond memories and smile on my face. Thanks for the content , keep it up.
I like the content of this video. It was nice to see you all going on a little adventure. Your wife is a real trooper and always has a pleasant attitude.
No internet at 11 years old is a good thing tbh. I had amazing parents too like that, unfortunately, I was/still am a tyrant and did ANYTHING I pleased…🤷 Love your channel man, your a solid guy I can tell.
Best video on the internet. This reminded me of growing up. I always had some sketchy craft made of barrels or whatever floated. Props to the wife. She's a keeper for smiling while sinking in a boat full of compost.
Wow, so cool you could reconnect with the old boat ! We all have memories of such! Thank for sharing was a good time for sure , best part is that you shared it with us!❤
WHAT A GREAT VIDEO!!! I grew up in LBI NJ cruising the Barnegat Bay with my buddy in a quicksilver inflatable with a 25hp tiller motor....that was the early 90's....BEST MEMORIES!!!
First video I’ve seen of yours, came from a short that popped up on my feed. Hilarious and entertaining. Awesome friends and what a gal you have there. Don’t F it up my man. They r hard to find !
Great memory for me. My dad bought a sears best, like that back in the 1970’s. He let me put the trailer together and wire the lights. Grandpa has an old 7.5 Evenrude, still have that motor. Use heavy nails to make shear pins going down the creek, setting bank poles and lines, camping. Rope pull broke, dad took to a boat shop, they had it almost all summer. Dad finally raised cane, they replace all kinds of stuff on motor. Dad showed the receipt to fix rope, heck the motor ran fine. So all new parts for cost of new pull start rope.❤
I was around 14 and used to go to this lake with family and my uncle used to let me use his smaller 12 fiberglass boat with steering and dual lever controls with a 1956 evinrude 18hp man that thing flew and was such a blast
This reminds me of my old 16 ft that had a merc 15hp o.b on it when I was 14 y.o and boy that 1st summer with it was the best summer ever thanks for the trio down memory lane
That reminds me a lot of my childhood only. We had a flat bottom wooden row boat on the Detroit river. I also cut grass to get money for the gas. Worked at the Marina during the week and the owner would let us borrow his sea king outboard motor. Great video brings back many memories
The old Chevy Blazers (full size) had removable rear roof section. The TV show Rip Tide had one that went around as a convertible. The 1st Gen 4 Runners did the same.
You def have the right girl. Y'all are awesome together. My first boat was a 12 foot V haul. Then a 17 foot flat bottom. Then a 17 foot canoe. And then, that's it. Lol
Brings back soooooo many memories. My first was a boat like this one but a fisher marine 15'er. Crappy boats are the best teachers hands down! Wish I could find my old one out there somewhere.... Thumbs ups dude!
Yeahhhh buddy! I live ‘down up east’ in lil rhody and love this lifestyle. Make my money in 8 months and then by the 11th month the freezer is almost empty! My work boat is a little baby compared to SG and Webo but we make it happen. 🍻
I grew up in Florida the same way you did running the river in a jon boat at the same age! I’m in the Seafood business also and loved every minute of my Childhood!
My first boat was a ten foot Jon, leaked like crazy from the seams, I was carpenter apprentice at time and had a half of large tube of construction adhesive. Caulked seams no more leak!!
I have the same boat but 14 foot. I gave $300 and have since used it 3 different seasons and on my third motor. Started with a 9.8 hp Merc and have moved up to a 20 hp Merc
I love talking about Pennysaver😂 when I was a kid, they used to be a section in the newspaper called under 100 bucks it was for boats cars. Four wheelers are used to buy and flip stuff out of there all the time when I was in high school.
Found an old sears row boat washed up on the marsh. Chunks missing out of it, but was basically a floating foam filled cooler. Found ourselves a 5hp sears game fisher out of an “uncles” shed. Rigged it up and ran that thing out manasquan inlet. Everyone thought we were crazy but it’s a story I’ll never forget. Some of the best times on the water I’ve had where with the cheapest/free boats 😂
Holy crap, I live in the DMV so I actually know which day you filmed this. It was absolute SOUP that day. By the by good buddy, it is an aluminum boat, made from weldable aluminum, if you can find the holes in the off season just fill them in with weld. MIG with a spool gun, low heat, and be careful, flap disk finish, and there will be no holes left.
My best friend and I had a blast with his Dad's 14' John boat 9 hp. We mounted it his schwin and pulled it to the harbor. It was better than old floating dock parts.
Reminds me of my 10ft aluminum pram. 3hp Evinrude. My brother won it at a raffle in Harundale Mall. It helped that I was a runt. Never got over 118 lbs until after HS. I actually got warned about going too fast in a 6mph zone by Tidewater. My summer water gang called ourselves the Magothy Maggots. Got into an ice throwing battle with one of the guys on the pier of what used to be Town Hall Resteraunt. I didn't have the motor on securely. The motor flew off in 12ft of water. Got it out with a pair of oyster tongs a week later. After a little work - it ran. Another time, by myself near Magovista beach, one of the football team lineman (225 lbs) ran me over with his normal sized boat. Put a big dent in it and had to bail more often. And had some problems with the transom after trying to pull up one of the maggots on skis.
Ahhh The ol' PennySaver! I remember those days! We're close to the same age just grown up across the river. I love your videos I was hoping to come visit you this summer, hopefully I still can I guess I'll have to go through the city. I was planning to come across the bridge....... unfortunately.
Love you man. You have the best attitude on everything. I think Nike got their motto from you. Just do it!. You are so positive. God bless you and may all of your adventures be memorable.
I wouldn't consider that guy a friend , talk about scamming you over something he was gonna scrap, if he ever comes to buy crab off of You I'd give him a special 400% markup price
😂😂 My wife just told me...OMG!! He's your younger twin!!! I do and go through practically all of the same stuff you do, Luke!!! Lol..difference is, im not a commercial fisherman, im a seasoned HVAC/plumbing tech/boat mechanic!! My freinds and family think I'm a mechanical genius but I know otherwise, and I just fix my own fleet out of necessity!
Lol i was thinking why didn't they clean the boat from all the leaves but makes sense they plug leaks . my first boat eas a 19 foot cabin cruise with a 65 hp evinrude had a gash in the hull that leaked even after fixing it. first time i tool out with my gf the gas tank messed up and we were dead in the water without a paddle . to our rescue was a older guy with a boat like your's and a little putt putt motor to tow us in lol. a dozen boats later i always regret not doing it simple with a little 14-16 foot aluminum boat , get a leak pop in a rivet or do like Lindsey and throw some leaves on top to plug it .
Loved this! So good to reclaim part of your youth, not that you're old. But to relive an important part of your life with the same friends, the same creek, and the same boat. Plus, now, Lyndsay. Does life get any better?
I love this guy bros Luke you could be a actor my wife does Headshots and acting site set ups we deal with a lot of talent some that is exceptional and you would definitely be the latter
