Such a deal you got. I especially enjoyed seeing ''Kate'' on the bike. If you make more vids please make sure to include ''Kate'' in them , she seems to be a lot of fun, and is very gorgeous.
A Hire bus?!! Nice. My mate had one when they were new, in Bronze, I remember when i rode it, i could look down through the screen and see the clocks. Best mod for your bux, is fitting a 1 tooth smaller front, or 3 teeth bigger rear sprocket.
Hi Ash hope you’re enjoying the bus, don’t know how much you know about busa’s but they eat rear tyres, keep a close eye on the chain and sprockets, the clutches can sometimes suffer with snatching whereby when you pull away the bike will bog down and then all of a sudden launch when the clutch release’s (there are several aftermarket mods for this and also the tokico front brake callipers suffer with brake fade if pushed. Hope this helps, loved both of my 2004 busa’s,great bikes . Enjoying the channel 👍🛵🛵
Thanks mate, I have noticed that even though the callipers were rebuilt this year, and the discs and pads were changed, It doesn't feel like the brakes are good enough for the bike. I'll watch out for the snapping clutch, would want to be looking at the sky after pulling away 🤣
Good evening ash and Kate I hope you are all well and enjoying your adventures on your new motor bike I love watching your you tube channel and your motor bike videos It was nice to see Kate your wife on your you tube channel and video and helping you sort 😮your new motor bike please keep up the good work up on your videos on your you tube channel please keep safe and warm i can't thank you enough for the enjoyment of your motor bike videos
nice 1 had a 1999 same colour payed £6500 for a year old 1 in 2000 gutted airbox fitted hot cams and 4-1 hindle and power comander putting out 215 bhp at rear wheel loved it left black lines when you gassed it ...enjoy mate love the vids
Excellent choice! I had a 2005 model for 4 years, 165,000km and it still ran - just not as good as new. I progressed to a 2016 Gen 2 and it's such a better bike, everything that frustrated me on the Gen 1 was fixed with Gen 2 and more. Enjoy!!! but watch those breaks, notoriously "not great"!
How did it get to that speed on 160bhp? I did a straightliners top speed day at Woodbridge, and not one standard Hayabusa got close to 190mph. My ZZR1400 with mods was making 178bhp, and my fastest speed on the day was 193.9mph. In fact, one Hayabusa rider took his seat off and still didn't manage 190mph.
173 bhp, and I guess it was all down to aero dynamics... I'm 6'2" and I'm no where near able to tuck behind the screen, I guess you have to be about 5" to be able to get behind the screen and achieve the top speed
my son had one , a 2014 model , brembo brakes , lovely bike . they can be ridden steady as well as quickly , i got to ride it also . iconic bike .enjoy yours .
Got to be bargain of the year mate 👍🏽❤️🏍😎🔥🔥looks in great condition not only for price but age, nice find 👍🏽😎, only just found channel look forward to future content 👍🏽.
Very nice. The '99 is very collectable, in America at least. Here in California you can find Busa's for 5k and up. That's with with higher mileage and not so pretty.
What an awesome machine mate. I think I’m going to have to go through my eBay messages because I think I messaged about this bike if I’m not mistaken, it was first put up for sale at £2500. We seem to be looking at the same bikes lol 😂
Haha, sorry mate! Yes, it was up for £2500, I found it and placed an offer of £2200 and went to bed. I woke up the next morning to a message that said they'd accepted my offer. Not expecting that, I had to rush to sell the Bandit to raise the funds 🤣
@@AshRowlandlol I knew it lol because I messaged them and didn’t get a response and it wasn’t up for long at all. Good on you though il bit you too the next one lol 😂 . I did buy something really special tho. Il try uploading it this weekend 🤞🏼
What a bargain I'm soooooooo jealous although I doubt a 5ft 5" short arse like me could touch the ground anyhow, the rear brake pads looked er fine to lol. I tried sitting on a Honda blackbird but I were tip toe on that thing so no chance of me ever getting such a machine. Enjoy it but be careful on it as you found out in the video, still its bloody nice mate so a great buy.
Thanks mate.... It's actually quite low, I'm 6'2" without shoes so I struggle with smaller sport bikes, this fits me very well. Kate is 5'4" and she could ride it, you can always get these lowered an inch, I reckon you'd be fine... go and sit on one and find out
@@AshRowland It was a gentlemans' agreement which was self imposed by the Japanese manufacturers before an authoritarian EU legislated on their own imposed speed restrictions. The agreement was honoured by the Japs., development went away from the power race until certain EU manfacturers caught up & immediately dishonoured it, yet they then had to sell bikes which needed expensive electronic, aids in order to use their engines' potential... Personally, I prefer to let riders show how good (or poor) their skills are with their bike, not levelling the field because of anti- "this & that" taking the human control away.... .. remember that feeling when out running those on bigger bikes on my smaller Elsies or z650b.
39500 that's nothing for one of them , my Suzuki gsx r 750 wn 1992 model has done nearly done 69700 , and still rides and runs perfect . Tea nice bike ash , enjoy 🤟👍
I owned the same year and colour bike 20 odd years ago, I had a heavily breathed on GSXR1100 wp before the Busa and was amazed how quick the Busa was in comparison to the 150+bhp GSXR, brutal power from tickover onwards, great bike but impossible to ride slowly... points and fines aplenty 😂
i bought same year and colour as this one last year for 2000. my one does have high milage but in really good condition, so i guess i got a deal too. love these bikes, its my second one i have owned
My goodness, Kate seems like a dream girl, beautiful, sexy, likes bikes, and seems to have a great sense of humor. What else can a guy ask for. The bike is gorgeous! Looks new! Enjoy.
I have the Gen 1,2 and 3. Gen 2 is the best by far, Gen 3 next you have what I would say is the worse model the Gen1 however still a great ride. Gen 2 2.5k there are choices, Gen 1 you can get for £1.5k choices, Gen 3 you can get for 6k
Hi Ash, I swapped my 99 reg one years ago for another bike because I couldn't ride it normally and once I'd done the absolute max on it I thought either licence is gonna burn or I will! Anyway I've got a Haynes for it and other thing's (factory handbook) ect if any use to you? They did have an external tank high pressure fuel pump that are legendary for going wrong and I've got plenty of them as well possibly as getting like rocking horse.
@03:38...a shapely rear end and the hottie was too bad either...'birds' and bikes...how can you go wrong? I would love to have a bike but I'm terrified of them... good video and keep up the good work.
@@roderickjones7479...that's where I went wrong...thanks for pointing it out...despite crashing 68 times...ridden 44 different motorbikes...covered a million kilometres...spent 4 decades as a London courier...became an instructor...frozen soaked and gravel rashed more times than i could list in a book...nothing would deter me from riding...never stop me getting back on one after being torn to shreds...what a bizarre human i am...why couldn't i be a normal son said mother...possibly a factor was i didn't own half of them...majority were company bikes or hired...I believe i owned about 17 or 18... It's all a bit blurred by the near half century of time passing...luckily I documented it all...before I lose all my marbles in my Pension age now
@@roderickjones7479 ...thank you sir...I'm 68...my License expires in 2 years at 70...unlikely I will go much into my 70's on two wheels...maximum 73/74 age...I've had a couple of discussions with a car driver in the family...he's still driving at 80...joking will i still be riding when I'm 90...haha...I'm nearly finished...my eyesight is good...but my reactions will deteriorate...it happens to everyone...
@@AshRowland ye we are building a track bike so have already started buying and sourcing parts Just bought a little zxr 400 road bike project yesterday and have the son's bandit 600 to build so plenty of videos coming The goal is to hit the 1000 subs first
New Channel incoming! - Ash "steal the bike" Rowland . "In this episode, Ash buys another bike for three co-op coupons and a Costa voucher - He also pays a random gorgeous girl to play the part of his "girlfriend" in order to get more views - Stay tuned - Next week, Ash gets Kate to examine his skid marks and polish his helmet" 🤣🤣
Looks like a lovely bike, due to the Sunday power ranger's who buy a new bike every year ( admittedly not this one) that could keep prices for bikes low especially second hand bikes, and most get well looked after, so cheap to buy but unfortunately not cheap to run, as I'm finding out with my new to me second hand bike, but i wish you well...ps video was great you and the mrs come across very lovely, bike looked great and put a ring on your lovely lady you look great together ❤️.
Thank you buddy... yea, it's not as good on fuel as I thought it would be, managed to drain a full tank in about 120 miles, but that might have been something to do with my right hand 😉
@@AshRowland That isn't high mileage, that is low mileage! I bought my BMW K1200S with 130K Kilometers (that is roughly 82.5 K Miles) and paid 2500 euro too. That was the absolute cheapest K1200S in The Netherlands too. Very good deal, at first sight. Congrats!
