Yes, I've got 3 Jags and I'm broke! This Red 2002 Jaguar XJ8 is my latest addition which almost got me kicked out of my house when my wife found out I bought another big cat. It's a little bit broken but for the price I got it I can't complain really...

Engine sounds quiet - no tensioner-related issues. Seems to pull well - solid transmission. No untoward lights on the dash ; like ABS, stability control fail... Looks like for £550 you've done well. Good looking car with the grill and alloy wheel upgrades and especially the seats. Eagerly await your next videos as I've got 2 XJ8's myself. (Great cars) Do what you can to keep it on the road. Cheers.

The Damp weather in England and being below Sea level will rust a Sherman Tank.. Try taking a Steamer to the leather, it will open the pores. Apply a good leather cleaning solution and wipe clean.

I paid £500 for my 4 ltre XJR but yours looks a lot better,I had a lot of rust in the bulkhead as the car had been standing for a long while and after the mot was done the top suspension mounts began to split badly as the car was used, also rust in the nearside arch behind the MacPherson strut. All in all, I should have known better as I have a X300 the previous model that has none of these issues so I didn't look for them, in my mind the XJ 8 is built in a much different way and you really do have to do your homework on the body.

Well, my one is about crusty everywhere but not to the point that's it's falling apart. Interestingly my other '98 XJ8 has no rust whatsoever being 4 years older.

Bought my XJ8 two months ago..the car gets into gears harshly at certain times, the boot does not open with the key, only with the button..and the locks don't work with the remote. Other than that, solid car.

What year is the red one ? I winder if the yellow mirrors are dimming mirrors. Dim when middle one does. 3 terminals on glass? 2v dims. Expensive so replace with standard. May fold too. Adjuster in center position and press down.

Its 2002. I was wondering why 3 terminals as eBay has only 2. Power fold is probably gone, but are they supposed to fold automatically?

VoloKin Project No they don’t fold automatically. Put Left Right adjuster in Center and press adjuster downwards.

the jaguar s type was based on the platform that the ford thunderbird and lincoln ls of the time used. you can see this in the 1st gen s type they still have the console of the lincoln. later on this changed to a true jag mid console.

You want NO4 ? 1997 308 XJ8 Aubergine perfect tan leather RARE factory sunroof mesh grille 18’’ XJR alloys. 155k miles. but it’s beautiful. my fave car ever. ONE problem - SADIQ KHAN. I live in London and it’s not practical to keep beyond end October.

@@VoloKinProject it’s cos of Major of London Emissions Regs from End Oct 2021. I live in Greenwich which means £13 each time I drive the car! There are the odd 308s that pass ULEZ. need the Reg Number but some 308s in 2001 2002 are ok. I prefer the 308 but beggars can’t be choosers.

In 2003 the Jaguar XJ won the TOP GEAR SURVEY ! In 2000 , the AJ-V8 Engine was voted as 1 of the Ten Best Engine's , made in the Year 2000, by Ward's. Rust can be a problem, but the Car is pretty well made in Electronics & Engine. Most exhaust-pipes are still good after 20 years When Ford took over Jaguar , they wanted to make a Statement towards Mercedes and BMW ect, making the X308 Car ; extreme reliable , faster than ever before, and also fitted with Top Luxury, like Adaptive Cruise Control, and Adaptive Suspension.
