This event changed 4 legend balances, 3 weapons balances, crafting weapon rotation, map rotation in both BR and Mixtape, made qol improvements to Storm Point, and fixed over 30 bugs which is a decent amount for what was just a mid season patch which they don't normally do in the first place. Not only that but they released a brand new ltm which includes a new weapon and 5 new hop-ups. The paid shop is completely optional in this free game the only reason it costs more than usual is because it includes 2 heirloom skins both of which are universal and the main event *technically* has 60 items total instead of 24 but still only takes 36 to fully complete. If you had even thought about it for a second then you would've realized your entire statement was factually incorrect and that if no one pays for apex then no content will be produced. Plus the price isn't even bad when you consider the heirlooms are just bonuses and other games charge $20-30 a skin just like all the items in this event. Valorant: $20-30 skins with discounted $80-100 bundles every other week, Sea of Thieves: multiple $30 ship sets in a single season, MW3: $15-30 skin bundles nearly daily. I'm not saying apex is better but it's certainly not any worse just exaggerated by the community.
