Let's review what it's like to use the HoverAir X1 drone on MTB trails. This is NOT paid content, I actually bought this and use it on the trail.
It's a neat little device, super-light, 2K and pretty simple to use. Turn it on, select the mode and go. It can be like having your own camera operator and it works well most of the time. To get sound you need to use the app on your phone... I don't I just use the GoPro sound when I need it.
For wide-open spaces it's great, tracks well and records good footage. For singletrack... that's hit or miss - mostly hitting branches that is.
I keep mine on my gear pack on a strap pocket so I can just take it out and use it without taking off my pack. Turn it on, select the mode from the device's button and it takes off from your hand. When you're done, hold your hand out and it will return to your palm. Simple.
It has a several different modes to choose from and you can select the distance too. For singletrack you want it close, for sweeping wide-open shots you want distance. Even with close - you're still going to lose it as soon as the trail turns. It's just a fact.
This doesn't make it not useful - you should just be aware of the limitations. There is no obstacle avoidance. It just follows you for better or worse.
Flight modes are, Hover, Zoom out, Follow, Orbit, Birds Eye, Snapshot, Dolly track, and Manual.
Follow and Dolly Track are the most useful for riding. Follow does just that, it follows you. Dolly Track keeps the Hover following you from the front - until you speed up and it kinda loses it and follows you. Still, you get some interesting footage from this.
It's not perfect but it's really small, not too expensive and provides some interesting and useful riding and B footage so I think it's worth it.

That's a neat little drone, what an annoying sound it makes though! At least your trails appear to be as well populated as my local trails so you won't have to worry about someone hitting it.

Yeah it's loud AF because the little blades scream.

Wow, what a high-pitched sound it makes. And I will never stop to be dismayed from the sorry state of cycling in the us..... you have to use one of those horrid pick up trucks to get your bike somewhere, ride a big round trip and then bring it back, again with the truck. I take my bike from living room, carry it downstairs, hop on it, and get groceries. Or use one of the many bikepaths to get to anywhere I want.

Where I am I have to drive to trails and it does suck. I suppose I could move to Bentonville but I don't want to work for Walmart. You're lucky and I'm jealous.

Yeah, I live in the Silicon Valley and it’s pretty pathetic, pretty much how you describe it. Americans have managed to make cycling a high carbon footprint activity. Now on top of everything else they are going bananas on e-bikes -> more carbon footprint.

@@pascalbruyere7108 Well, I'm a huge advocate of e-bikes, but that's in totally different circumstances. Here, it serves as a legit car replacement and thus lowering my carbon footprint tremendously. But if you just ride around on a specially constructed, enclosed area for "sport", well, it's still fun, but not eco. It's probably a mindset issue for some, but also a question of infrastructure. Seattle and New York are decent, or so I've heard. It's a bit surprising that the valley is so.... backwards?

@@VisionMTB It seems to have deleted my previous reply....if you ever come to Germany, drop me a note, I'll be happy to show you around a bit :)

@@pascalbruyere7108 More trails would be better but some of us live in more dense areas. I agree on the ebikes completely.
