I love this van so much! I am an amazon driver and I have driven the dodge promaster, GM savana, sprinter and the transit and this baby takes the cake. Promasters are sluggish and shakey. Good choice!

With the many improvements for 2020, the AWD Transit is now clearly the better choice over the Sprinter, especially considering the huge price differential. The 3.5 Ecoboost engine and 10 speed are an excellent combo and the AWD system is quite advanced and is more than capable enough to get anywhere a top heavy van can go. This is definitley the platform I'll build my RV on.

Agreed! For that reason I decided to go with this platform. The cost of the Sprinter with equal specifications would be my van + the entire buildout. Did not make sense for my end use.

@@RichBuilt Even if you wanted to go with the Quigley 4x4 conversion on the Transit instead of factory AWD, it would still cost less than a comparable 4x4 Sprinter.

MY 2020 Ford transit work van is RWD. I'm looking for videos of in action to see what kind of back roads it capable of traversing. It's odd high profile and my continued luck delivering to out of the way places makes this a great concern for me. Not to mention packing my load to the ceiling with daily multiple variations in weight.

I just got a silver Transit 148 high roof extended 350 GVRW 10360 with ecoboost and the AWD. I ordered it back in Jan and just got it 2 weeks ago. Will start building soon.

Would love to know where the roof ribs are located on the high roof long (not extended). I can’t find the info/pics/video anywhere and I want to know for purposes of planning roof fans and window options in my layout.

These are great vans. I'm buying a cargo trailer next week for it. 7000lb towing capacity 👌🏾 and cargo capacity is mint on these ecoboost!

Im thinking of doing the same exact thing, build out and possibly live in it fulltime. Maybe add a medium trailer for extra storage. Keep us updated.

I've heard that the transits have water leak issues and has caused rusting and damaging the PCM. Have you had any of these issues? I'm hoping the new models have been addressed.

I have not had any water leak issues on my 2020.

Awesome van man! When you get a chance could you do a experiment for me and go on soft sand when you get a chance to see if the awd will work with it? You should put the tires to 15psi so it floats on top... I'm in the wall about buying this or s f150 to hold all my surfboards but the awd is holding me back because idk if it'll float

Mark Smith yeah definitely Mark, I’ll have to try that out. There are plenty of beaches here in CA to drive through and test out the AWD system. Will be able to put to use my portable inflator

I was considering going van life for awhile to payoff some debt instead of buying a small house, however im afraid the insurance would be so high it would just be better for me to buy the tiny house and just refinance it later on or sell it when my debt is paid off.

The media improvements alone are great. Prior years' stereo/head unit were horrible and a pain to upgrade.

Great informative video, we had a 2020 Ford Transit Cargo 250 with a cigarette lighter socket blow, owner manual did not have any information of fuse location in it fuse boxes, we took to 2 different Ford Dealer, none of them figured it out, call 3 out of state Ford dealer to get help with no result , call Ford direct, they did not have that fuse location either ( just amazing how a lousy it is) Ford said take to dealership, but we already did , they couldn't locate the fuse to replace. At this point, we are look around to find a solution, any troubleshooting techniques that you can think of to track to that blow fuse that control the cigarette lighter? Many thanks in advance 🙏

Hi AD, enter the link below to gain access to the PDF version of the manual for the 2020 Transit. Start on page 273 and search (ctrl-F) "Auxillary Power Point" This is for all the outlets and check to see each one to find out which needs replacing. Can't wait to see your build. I am also looking for the 2020 AWD. Eco Boost. Do you have all of the safety features with blind assist etc? What is the length?

Angela Kaiser yup I do and I highly recommend them. I have advanced cruise control and all the BLISS radar systems in this one. Makes driving much easier especially in the crowded streets of San Francisco. It’s a 148 Regular WB

Did you order this or were you one of the lucky ones to buy it at the dealership? I'm doing a build online for the transit and sprinter. With comparable features, the transit is maybe 6k cheaper. What made you go with the Transit over the others?

Cameron, I found this searching online just before the huge demand started. The only other thing I wanted was dual alternators, an extended gas tank, and HID headlights. But had everything else. The reason for going with the Transit is really two things. Overall cost to purchase/maintain and I wanted AWD not 4x4 since these van's aren't really meant for "off-roading" Sprinter does look nicer though in my opinion but that's subjective

If you add a full size piece of thinsulate over the cab headliner it will reducer the vibration of the headliner and reduce the road/wind noise a lot. You can install it without removing the headliner. Just need a flexy push stick to get it all the way down in the front. Like a flexy thin strip if wood. Takes a little time but worth the effort!

Hey Alex, really depends on what you plan to do with it, your layout and how much weight you want to be able to carry. The model I purchased is in the middle of the options works great if you don't have too many specific needs for extra space and payloads.

I think the AWD version of the transit is the reason Mercedes dealers across the country are sitting with loads of 4x4 Sprinter models on their lots.

Yup, some may argue the Sprinter looks better but at 25k delta in price, its hard to justify.

Rear Wheel Drive is still very capable with a decent set of tires and chains if needed. I just require AWD for my lifestyle :)

Nice rig! Does this van has full speed range adaptive cruise control? Like come to a stop and go in traffic?

Thank you! I'm not actually sure about that but it does have what they call advanced adaptive cruise control. Which changes the speed based on the distance you have set to the car in front and behind you. I'll have to check out if it has the stop and go traffic feature more common on Teslas.

For the Van? It can be had between 40 - 55k depending on the options you chose. Knock 10k off if you don't pursue the AWD model

Works great! Similar reception to your cellphones personal hot spot. Only issue with it is the car needs to be turned on if you want to use it for extended periods. Still nice to have on long trips.
