I found the most awful looking Christmas tree in the world and gave it a full expert makeover and transformed it into the most beautiful Christmas tree in the world.
What you have done is the equivalent of going to a shelter and adopting the oldest dog there and giving it a nice home for the rest of it's days. Wholesome.
That's not the equivalent of adopting a dog. It's not the same thing. You have to care for a dog it's whole life. You don't get to throw the dog away after Christmas is over 😂

For anyone else who's felt sorry for a sad looking Christmas tree: you can also cut it into pieces and make a garland, a wreath, or even a pine bouquet in a vase if you don't have the space or inclination to use it as a full tree. Some places that sell Christmas trees will even give you pine trimmings for free if you ask. You did a great job on this project, Garrett! Happy holidays!
True! I've also seen the tree sellers trim the really big trees down into shorter ones as Xmas approaches. They tend to look like topiary hedges, but some people are into that I guess.

Garrett is such an important person. He is the type of person that brings out our inner child, in a fun and loving and comforting way. We need those people to survive. Often when we grow up they are harder and harder to get too.
Garrett manually opening the tree and saying “this is fine, no big deal” while massive chunks of it are falling off is just a big old metaphor for life. The humor of it all sure did brighten my day. 💓

Very, very rarely I get this weird feeling that someone I know I’ll never meet would match so incredibly well as a friend. Garret is one of those people. I know this is an edited version of him but I still get this kind of sad feeling of missing out on an amazing friendship.

I loved this but my anxious brain sees a massive fire hazard. I watched one of those brew videos about how many Christmas trees catch on fire every year because they get dry and the lights get hot. Not sure it will help, but if he bought those lights new they are LED which don’t get hot. Also, most tree fires are from daisy chaining too many strands of lights or faulty extension cords. There’s a spark from faulty electronics which catches, not hot lights. If you only have your tree plugged into wall power when you are there to enjoy it (and unplug it overnight) lit fresh trees are perfectly safe.
Coming from someone who relates to not being able to let a lot of inanimate objects go I know how hard it is to donate things you really love even if you really do want to donate. I thought I was the only one who did that. But, I remember seeing one of your videos (I think you were cleaning out your house) and you mentioned having trouble parting with objects and I felt not so alone. I felt this! I still remember this old toy that my mum donated without telling me and that must have been about 15 years ago. All I have to think about is that someone else around my age must have bought him and had similar memories with him 😭

@@ellasjohnson I think all Guinea pigs squeak. 😛 I prefer mice and rats personally, but the one Guinea pig I had (named Miss Piggy 😂) was the only "affectionate" one I've met. Most piggies will run away when you give them attention, but she would always put her little hands up on the bars and squeak her little head off when someone would walk past her cage, because she wanted attention. The only negative thing was, she ate anything she could get her teeth on, including my hair, blanket, and a piece off one of my stuffed bunnies. 😑 Was still sad that I was forced to get rid of her.

That's adorable! I know this is a very late reply to your comment Karen,but not everyone is a tree expert so pls don’t try an take away the fact that Garrett is making effort to decorate a an unwanted Christmas tree but also send a message meaning even if your imperfect and different it’s about the love and action and intent no matter if your imperfect and that imperfection doesn’t determine how much love you can give someone just by being authentic. Maybe someone will come along and see this an get the message instead of commenting how appalled they are at someone without a tree degree opens it from its binding . Garrett you are a beautiful human and I just can't. My favorite gift I ever got for the holidays was a battery operated pink barbie jeep that my dad stayed up late on Christmas eve building while drunk and he accidently woke me up and had to put me back to bed before I saw it. That memory will last a lifetime.

My favorite thing I've ever received for the holidays was a poem book written by my sister :) She made it all herself and ever since I read the poem of her calling me the sun, I've been obsessed with anything that reminds me of yellow or sunshine.
