THIS is a project KEEPER!! You are absolute lunatics if you don't restore and do something with this. Rare as hell and that is a lovely spec and colour. A few OEM+ mods and you will have something unique that will stand out against anything else you have in the garage! If I haven't been clear so far .. .then I am saying KEEP IT! lol. ... or donate it to me in the UK and I will finish it on my channel haha
I had a friend who back in high school found a 924 in a barn and after getting it back into shape decided to make his own turbo for it. His dad worked at Chrysler I think in Detroit and they were able to find a compatible turbo and machine everything need to fit and make it work. He loved that car. The market for those seats is amazing. If only the seller of the car knew, huh :)
You guys inspired me on the seat thing!! Bought my 3rd boxster for $5k and has the GT3 sport seats which as you know sell for $2-3k. Buying a set of regular seats in good shape for $300 this weekend and gonna sell them. Also headlights on boxsters go for insane money. Have sold my 3rd pair that I got off marketplace for Pennies and usually get close to $1000 for a set once I redo the seals and polish/ceramic coat. Love the videos! Keep the Porsches coming, such cool cars
My first 2 cars were 77'-78' 924 I bought them both back in 98' for $2,400. Then years later I got a 86' 944 and my brother got a 81' turbo and a couple 928's . A couple friends bought quite a few of these 924's There was a local wrecking yard that had all European cars and the field was loaded with porches. We all eventually sold them .
Insanely rare and incredibly fun car to drive. Drop her into 2nd, wait for the turbo lag and it's all brutal after that. I hope she goes to a good home. PS. You should do a short bit on Anatole Lapine.
Didn’t read through the comments at all, but the 924 Turbo is a MUCH more interesting car than the passel of generic 944s you’re accumulating. Seems like this should be the project, get rid of a 944 or two if necessary to do it 👍 Also, your process of buying cheap cars with rare parts and selling the parts is mathematically sound, but it’s a shame to take rare seats out of a rare car 😢 That ship has sailed though…
1st, I am enjoying the Mini 12 Days of Christmas videos. I am amazed at how you find these Deals, and then turn them around for real deal profit. I've never been good at selling stuff. usually Buy High, and get to the place where I need to sell, and often sell low just to get something out of it. hardly a script for Success! One or both of you are very good at spotting what is important and then acting on it. And how do you not become attached? Another of my problem areas. I get attached and hate to sell it. What ever It might have been. but, always enjoy your videos. Especially the ones showing a bit of the Flathead Valley, where I grew up. Good memories etc. Life is too short!
I have this car's twin although mine is an '82. Very rare, I'll bet it just needs the fuel system thoroughly cleaned and some new plugs. Sometimes the crank position sensors go bad and they're NLA but I THINK someone now had a drop-in replacement. You gotta keep this one!
I have one of these, I'm currently modding it to about 300hp. Water to air intercooler, EFI and meth injection, even with the 170hp it was fun to drive, I can't wait to finish my project!
I'm sure that car has 114,000 miles by the looks of its condition. You forgot to point out it doesn't have a 6th digit. Not to mention you kept glancing over that big dent in the driver side front fender.
If you know 931’s, which it doesn’t seem you do, no offense…you’ll know that restoring one is not for the feint of heart. Although I doubt you’d go the purist route. The ‘GTP’ is the LeMans car you should build. Doubt you’ll decide to. The car you mentioned is a road car GTS. Also worth cloning but not as cool in my opinion. Make a GTP clone with a massive turbo like the LeMans cars
Do you ever come across mid 90s 911 Turbos for cheap? I don't know a whole lot about the other Porsches, but that has been my favorite car since I was a kid. It was the first Hot Wheels that I ever picked out and I still have it in the package. I did a quick Google and it looks like they are still selling for $100k+, so that leads me to believe that they are in a whole different category than most other Porsches.
Mistake 924 Turbo is Engine by Porsche 2.5L and 924 2.0 is Audi engine which save Porsche does years from going Broke. That engine save them Big time.If u ever find 928 or 928 Gts get them 5L V8 and price going up every year. My first Car i buy when turn 18 is just like this but Yellow 924Turbo.
Selling it would be good. You guys should talk more about what you mentioned at the end of the video--with seeking out profit and specifically looking for those special factory options. Keeping it would be cool but if you already have as many cars as you do with a lot of projects you might as well make some quick money and reinvest into another project.
Well I'm sorry guys. But I had at first thought you guys enjoyed cars and wanted to get into fixing some cool stuff and driving some cool stuff etc. But I guess you're just car salesmen. Not fun seekers or car lovers. 😕
