Please go through with this trip. It will be fun and great content. I say give Tommy the opportunity to work on his machine before going. Things like the exhaust, I wouldn't blame him if he wanted something quieter and then that headlight needs to be replaced if you guys plan on riding at night. I would recommend riding during the day and then get hotels at night because tbh it is kinda sketchy to be riding those things at night. Have someone follow along in the truck with supplies or in case shit hits the fan. I think this is probably the coolest and funnest trip to date.
Check the valves! GY6 owner here, and that's my hottest tech tip for these. It was a night and day difference on cold starts. Oh, and put that auto choke back in action. It actually works pretty damn well.
I had about 5 Honda Sprees back in the 90s when I was younger. They were fun little bikes to play around on. The ones I had were 49.5cc. Some of the white ones were up to 70 CC. I might even have a bunch of parts laying around somewhere, if I do I'll just mail them to you, I can't use them for anything
No gas gauge!! Omg that’s so insane to go on a CC trip with no gauge and a tank from a Spree..with a GY6!! That’s soooo many stops and so hard to keep track of. I learned to ride on a bone stock Spree! 👍
You need a bigger tank on the spree 100%. You can get an stainless 3 gallon tank on ebay for very cheap and mount it on the cargo bar, run a line from bottom of aux tank to halfway on the stock spree tank and you will quadruple the capacity. Make sure to fill the stock tank first, then aux. Put a petcock on the aux fuel line on stock spree tank so you can easily remove it. 20 mins of work but will save hours of time.

Be stoked bro its gonna be a great adventure. I put 7000 miles on my vino 125 with only oil changes and a tire due to burnouts no other maintenance. Def do that oil cooler cause they are gonna get super hot on long hauls. P.s. msr makes nice fuel bottles to keep a reserve in your bag or under the seat.
U need that oil cooler on Tom's bike.. the truck could use it but toms bike has plastics covering the engine so it's not going to get the airflow that the truck will with no fairings
