The two might not get along that well, but when the resident bartender is looking scared of something, even O’Brien knows that it’s best to take it seriously.

1) Worf had not joined DS9 yet so it is unlikely that Dr. Bashir had met Worf before. 2) When Quark asked "Have you ever met a quiet Klingon before?" Quark was addressing Bashir, not O'Brian. So the fact that O'Brian had met Worf before is irrelevant. 3) Whether Worf was "quiet" or not is a matter of opinion.
@@Zykium and I thought a Starfleet officer was always on duty. That outfit Sisko was wearing looks more African in origin than 24th century clothing style lol.
I'd like to think out of anyone in the federation, O'Brien would be the one most comfortable and capable with a good old fashion powder and lead shootin iron. O'brien and Kira are the only main characters across the three middle series (TNG, DS9, VOY) who saw actual ground level combat. Everyone else did all their fighting on a ship.
@@coyoteannabis1192 …if you forget the entire episodes they were fighting on the ground or Worf fighting multiple times on the ground on away missions and secret missions
"If one of my people were loose on the station for [3hr 27min] there's no telling how much damage they could do" And then there was a changeling on the station for 4 weeks and he almost blew up the entire Bajoran system, sabotaged efforts to close the wormhole to stop the Dominion fleet from entering Cardassian space, possibly killed a Bajoran maintenance worker, caused the deaths of the crew of the Rio Grande during the staged Dominion attack, and god knows what else.
Yeah and since Odo is not exactly one of the Founders of the Great Link, *we're not even certain* that phaser sweeps are as effective on them as they were on him, and we know blood tests didn't help.
Quark didn't get to be a successful businessman by being oblivious to what's going on around him. He truly understands how his bar functions, and that's the point: Expertise comes in people and ways that may surprise you. Do not be dismissive.
This is actually a bit of a bro move by Martok. He could've just cloaked past DS9 like he had done through all of Federation space and attacked Cardassia. By stopping there he was letting the Federation know something big was about to happen so that they could react to it. Otherwise the first news the Federation would've gotten about the war probably would've been when the Klingons occupied Cardassia itself. It was also a well thought out bro move too. Resting his troops just before an attack is a justifiable excuse to decloak and hand out shore leave. If he had decloaked anywhere else in the Federation Gowron could've accused him of treason. Very clever.
Plus that is NOT Martok. That was a Changeling. Informing the Federation what was going on draws the Federation in. It also might blow the element of surprise for the Klingons which means costing more lives and ships. Which is what the Founders want....less opposition when they invade. They just never anticipated Section 31.
@@skyler114 D&D mimics have been doing it for years. Makes me wonder if they have PADDs of that game laying around. Give them the Mimic chapter and say "Here, study up on changelings".
I always liked this style of phaser rifle. Simpler, elegant, easy to maneuver. Unlike those enormous ones they used on voyager, those were atrocious thanks to the ridiculously impractically huge handles/guard and that bar that linked between them.
Normal families love when their families come round, no matter how rich or poor they are. I guess you or your family, or even both! are one of those sub-human types that always think they are above anyone else.
By that "CBC" you mean Commander Benjamin Cisco? ;-) Well, we can say, that DS9 is a communication hub of that sector, so it makes sense it to be commanded by Cisco. :-D
They missed a great joke here. Quark: "See how they are looking around? It's like they are picking out targets" O'brian: "Gets up and stands behind Quark" Quark: "What are you doing?" O'Brian: "Well I don't want them to pick me!" Quark: "Cut that out! I'm serious."

When your about to close the restaurant and a single football player asks if your still open, then you say yes and fail to see the bus full of players outside.
Depends on if it's a high school team and they won the state championship or they lost it. The way I look at it, open for business. Either a big celebration or alto of hungry, tired souls.

I love the paintings of the continuing, curved hallway at each end of the corridor right at the start. Even when you notice them you can't help but be impressed by just how well they match the perspective of the shot, especially when the camera moves and turns as much as it does.
@@christopherdean1326 Look at the lights - coloring is off. The corridor behind Sisko & Kira in the front facing camera shot is a painting. Look at the lights and you see where the painting starts because the ceiling lights change colour.
@@sebastiannemeth-ramirez2160 It's probably more of a surprise for everyone living on the station, not for the security team. The crew probably gets a "This week we'll prepare for a drill." For the rest of the station it's a test on getting everyone to a safe area.
Dickum N Lickum the V: Emperor Of RU-vid. I caught up on them on the rebound. I wasn’t into Trek until Deep Space Nine, and while TNG has some episodes I do enjoy like Yesterday’s Enterprise & Q-pid, I’ll always prefer DS9 over Next Generation.
Martok really sold all the DS9 Klingon dramas for me. TNG’s were irritating and played out very similarly. Worf is cool but he’s awfully boring by himself, but with Martok, Worf is just great.
This is because TNG treated Worf like a precious cocker spaniel that occasionally gets temperamental. On DS9 he thrived! He grew, because of Sisko's style of command and the variety on board DS9; which contrast with the Enterprise.
yea Martok is a legend, but for some reason chancellor Gowron was a purer Kingon imo. When he brings that line: "The Klingon Empire will remember what has happened here. You have sided against us in battle. And this we do not forgive! OR FORGET! to Sisko, I was like this is Klingon inkarnate.
@@gherbert7020 yes yes You nailed it on the head , another cool DS9 fact that some happen to overlook is there is a Klingon Restaurant on the promenade of the DS9 station , , ,🖖👽
@@blun7m4n85 The Problem with Gowron's words is he didn't realize he was dealing with 'The Sisko'. Benjamin is a lot more darker and daring on a daily basis. He may balk at Garak's killing the holosuite fabricator, but for The Federation he would get down and dirty. If he wasn't spoken for by The Prophets, he would make a formidable 'M' for Section 31. I could see him running Bashir, as a sleeper agent.
DS9 was definetly not my fave Star Trek show, but it had some of my favourite characters. Odo, Garak, Quark. All excellent, unusually grey characters for Star Trek!
What is funny (and definitely accurate) in DS9 is how all of the major Alpha Quadrant powers freak out about the Dominion. Only the Federation, kind of, keeps a level head (although Admiral Layton's 2 arc episode even hurts that). Cardassian and Romulans team up to wipe out Founder Home World, Klingons try to Conquer Cardassia, Federation tries to setup a police state. Kind of crazy.
The episode that introduced the great Martok! Since the Changelings didn't seem to have much need for volume, he should've hidden as a comm badge just to really mess with people.
Even if they can change shape presumably they would still weigh the same. So I would think it would be hard to walk around with a 150 pound comm badge attached to your chest.
Changeling toilet seat - First off, they never show toilets in Star Trek, and secondly changing back from being one would scare the crap out of anyone 😊
they dont show them because theres no story reason to show a toilet, but on ship schematics each of the general quarters have one, it just pops out of the wall, just like the shower in the spot where you see the sink and mirror.
1:45 - Odo is basically describing the gameplay of the game "Prey" where the shapeshifting aliens (or you after acquiring their powers) can disguise themselves as a coffee mug, toilet paper, trash can, chair, etc.
The great thing about modern sci-fi is that they no longer go with that idea from 1950s sci fi that everyone in the future has one outfit (usually a monocolor jumpsuit) but everyone is free to dress as individuals and choose their own wardrobe. It looks more natural and it's really a great thing that adds texture and feel to the look of a show like this. Watched this video. Let's all go with the monocolor jumpsuit.
@@SagaciousNihilist That would require an even greater actor then, as that would mean he had to act like his character was not having fun, while his character was having fun, while he himself was feeling tortured.
I love how odo literally finds out what and who he is a couple days prior and he’s already talking like he knows his people like the back of his hand lol
I had seen `Way of the Warrior' the first week of season 4 on a Sunday night. Two hours of Klingons, Cardassians, explosions and a very unsettled Quark.
You'd be surprised how easily such information could fall into enemy hands. During WWII, a surprising amount of information was passed by runners since they didn't fully trust their communication lines.
Time to upgrade the station with sweeping widening scanner s that cover the entire station instead of going random room by room a full station scanning system would cut the finding time hero 3. 28 minets to 30 minets
@@earthlingavian1132 Wait...but....how? Cloaked ships are supposed to be cloaked to the eyes as well as to instruments...right? Ehhhh fuck it, let's go with "Tachyon web".
1:20 or so: once Bashir realizes he's too late, everything about Odo's face says, "A little too slow, are we, Doctor?" :D 3:20 Lots of Klingons, yes. Hopefully not too many for a station of DS9's size...
There was one problem with the drill and Odo's assertion that 3hrs 27min was too long to catch him as an actual Changeling could do so much damage in that time. The issue is that Odo spent the time actively trying to evade capture before himself catching Bashir unawares (because the sweeps would have cornered him anyway at that point). All that time running around wouldn't leave any for the Changeling to do the damage Odo is warning about. The very act of actively sweeping the station would keep the Changeling on the move and far less able to carry out whatever their mission was.
True. Not that Odo didn't have good reason to push for better performance, but it's hard to do something when you're busy running away and hiding all the time. They could improve that training by having some notional objectives Do needed to perform that the defenders didn't know about. Like, setup a fake warp core that can be notionally overloaded, have a VIP nearby at the same time, have a cloaked (or notionally cloaked) ship nearby full of boarders pretending to be Jem'Hadar that need a secure airlock to attack from (or shields to drop, or something), etc. Their training was a good start, but not what it could've been.
You know, the Klingon Fleet does not need to cloak while passing in Federation space. The Khitomer peace accord between the Federation and Klingon Empire has stated that they can freely pass each other space
@@jacobfremont2649 They just have to redo all CGI in high resolution... as they did for TNG and TOS... Moonves didn't want to... but fortunately he was fired 😀

Star Trek was so great for so long. The Next Generation, Deep Space 9, Babylon 5. I thought they'd still be cranking out shows Gene Roddenberry would love until long after I was gone. Alas.
Klingons must be bad for business. I imagine they'd start a lot of fights, and Quark can't embezzle them because their strict code of honor would have them escalate.
There is some merit to that, actually. If they caught you whispering about them, they might think you're conspiring against them. If they "overhear" you saying they're acting suspicious, then they know you're worried about them, and not that they need to be worried of you.
Some weren't so bad. Most of the stuff Jake wore isn't anything worse than a modern day hipster. Trade the turtlenecks for flannel and bingo. A lot of times, it wasn't the outfit itself that was hideous, it was the choice of material. Either way too heavy for the cut or just plain ugly.
