What a CRAZY trip to my DREAM claim. Spent two days with Pioneer Pauly and a few other friends gold panning and metal detecting my retirement claim and in a two hour time frame I broke every gold record I have ever set. Most gold, biggest piece detected, biggest gold ever found, best looking nugget, most WOOHOO's! I could not believe what I found. And day two the excitement turned to anger. What fun you guys are! I am hooked on your videos, I was paralyzed just about a year ago from my waist down. Prior to that I was a commercial fisherman / charterboat captain. Every day was an adventure. I have never been into T.V. or the indoors for that matter. Your adventures are a good, no a great way to pass my time while I adjust to posterior life. Don't change a thing! I am actually learning a few things which is an added bonus. The way you state "Earn your subscription" really set you apart from many of the others! You're one of a kind Mr. Hurd and are the only subscription I currently have.

@@Bonerite i mean, yoi don't know, but you could definitely learn. It takes resilience and hard work, but living in nature isn't that hard. Learn to farm and hunt first, then learn building and foraging skills. I grew up here in the Yukon, so it kind of comes naturally, but it can be learned, we are incredibly adaptable.

Guys I took the risk myself, did all research I could scraped together the basics of hand tools and went to southern oregon and on my first day found flakes. Second day found .221 gram nuggy! I am planning on another trip we have not had rainfall in months! Right now is best time

@Dr D Yup, he’s weird in a good way. I really enjoy seeing someone enjoy life, act goofy, and enthusiastic about that thing they love doing. It takes guts to be able to put yourself out there. - especially on-line. Social media can be brutal. As a young person, I am guessing you’ve seen how it can harm. I guess my point is - I like Dan Hurd’s weirdness. He’s fun, entertaining, and enjoying life. I love that he’s not afraid to be himself in front of the masses. I’m guessing his students weren’t bored in his classroom. Kids learn more if they aren’t falling asleep. Lol P.S. Don’t feel bad. I tell my kids ( not really kids - they’re 24) to never ever stop questioning. Live learn love. Find that thing in life you are enthusiastic about and run with it. That’s where you’ll find true success.

I think you’ll go far in life. At 15, you already have a maturity that many never achieve. Those kids who make fun of you are probably suffering from low self esteem. They are picking on you to try to make themselves feel powerful. Or perhaps they are being abused at home. There are lots of reasons why they bully and all not good. Same here I can't go out because of anxiety and PTSD it's crippling but I am right there with him , it's like an adventure I can't take by myself, I have to have someone with me to go places and I have no one, so whether he likes it or not Dan takes me with him, but knowing Dan he enjoys carrying every single one of us with he is such a sweet person it makes you feel like you're part of his family I might be 50 years old but he makes me feel like a kid again. The law and jumping on a posted claim should be forfeiture of all equipment. it instantly converts to the legal claim owner. The only thing they would leave with would be their vehicles and the clothes on their back’s. Dan‘s making it sound like they probably had a bunch of gold in their pockets if I were a member of the RCMP they would turn out those pockets.

Hey there. If you want to get involved in the prospecting fun, check out the MPAA. They have a ton of resources, and even some private claims, that can get you started right away without spending a lot of money up front. Also, start looking around your local area for prospecting shops and retailers. A lot of them have good information on open use areas you can go. In most cases, don’t expect to find copious amounts of gold. Unless you live in Australia... Apparently with the right licenses and equipment you can find enormous nuggets inches below the surface in certain areas there.

It's not drama and it's not his drama it's people thinking they're allowed to do whatever they want. Simply because they feel like it. Those people weren't worried about the pollutants they were putting into the river these are the same type people that probably leave their trash spill gas and think it's funny like fires and don't put them out. Those type people stop good people from doing good things.

Because gold... And the silliest part... there is literally gold EVERYWHERE. A lot of it is so small, or so difficult to get to, that it isn’t worth the expense of even trying. But it is literally everywhere. If you live in an area where they have historically found gold you too can try it. Get a garden shovel, go buy a cheap gold pan (not that you don’t have the money for a more expensive one, but start cheap and work your way up) and head out to the areas that historically had gold. Once you find a little, you’ll be hooked. It isn’t called gold fever for no reason.

You should get one of those crevicing tools that Gary "Two Toes" Honan sells -- the stainless steel tool with the orange handle. They work quite well.
