I like watching videos like yours where you do it alone and without a big group. I think it is better for your mind and soul to rely on yourself. Sorry for your trouble but you will never forget your journey.

White Pocket looks amazing. Bummer about the truck troubles. You're using that truck for many great adventures so I imagine it's par for the course to break things now and then. Better to break down on a road than deep in the backcountry, I suppose. Matt's Offroad Recovery would have had to come get you. Best wishes.

It sure is! Yes lots of lots of miles put on the truck I’m out almost every single weekend filming videos. Yes agreed I broke down in the perfect spot and glad I broke down on day 8 and not day 1. This was the weekend they had the off road event in Utah so Matt’s was definitely at that event.

Hey Johnny! Cool Video! Great presentation, videography, and what a winning attitude through some hard luck! Truly sucks about your truck troubles. It's amazing how we go from an adventure we think we are on, to one of a completely different nature in the blink of an eye. I'm pretty sure I don't handle that as well as you do, even at my age... so Inspiration for me! LOL! It's not the end of the world, it's just the start of an adventure you had no idea you were gonna be on... Anyway, I like that you handle it well. I watched you with Cody on White Dog in Az. I saw you pop up on my feed and thought why not give it a watch. I don't ordinarily follow Toyotas... I drive a big ol' heavy Dodge... But I do follow independent spirits, as I do explore and adventure allot by myself... Almost exclusively by myself... Cody and you kind of resonate with me, so I'll be subscribing to your channel and checking it out some more. I mean, Cody is sportin' a RAV 4 these days, and I'm still with him... LOL! He's a great dude, (A Little Cocky, he's opinionated, but he comes off to me Old School for as young as he is...I guess I just get him.) I'm 60 BTW, so definitely Old School... I would love to meet you both some day... but I know how busy you RU-vid Influencer/Content Creators are... LOL! Keep up the good work on your channel! I'm not creative in the video or photography sense, so I really do enjoy seeing that! Thanks for your time, and sorry this was so long... Guess I had allot to say... Hahahah!

That sucks, man. How many miles on those front unit bearings? I'd be curious to see how much your rig weighs on a scale. I'm sure it's over GVWR when you're fully loaded with camp gear but I've seen some Tacos that are waaaay heavier than what yours looks. Bigger tires and slickrock will accelerate the wear, but I'm sure you can get in front of some of that stuff with a more aggressive maintenance and part replacement schedule. Nice work on the video!
@jonnytacooutdoors
@jonnytacooutdoors 7 дней назад
Original bearings. Yeah I’d be curious to see how much it weighs also. I easily have 1000 pounds in the back. Oh yeah, I do aggressive maintenance on the truck. Nothing lasts very long. I’m out filming videos just about every weekend.😎👋🏼

When you overload a vehicle with SO much stuff, breakdowns are going to happen much more often than a vehicle running as lightweight as possible, e.g. staying under GVWR and within max payload specifications. In other words, within the design specifications of the vehicle, which are spelled out for a reason. I see videos like this online again and again and again: people bring so much heavy stuff with them that their vehicle suffers prematurely and then they're stuck and need help. I go overlanding too, in a Jeep Wrangler. With a ground tent that weighs like 15 pounds. Basic camp stove, and basic camping gear. Some tools, spare fluids and recovery gear, and that's about it. In my view, you go camping to experience nature. If you go camping but you bring hundreds of pounds of gear aimed at being comfortable, or trendy ("look at me!"), you're seriously missing THE POINT of camping. #SimplerIsBetter #WeightIsTheEnemy

I Should Have Bought A Jeep.
@VideosOffRoad
@VideosOffRoad 7 дней назад
@@jonnytacooutdoors While Solid Front Axles do tend to be significantly stronger than IFS, an overloaded Jeep will have similar problems as an overloaded Toyota. Ball joints wear out prematurely, brakes, wheel hub assemblies, steering components, etc. Reliability is more often far less about the vehicle you buy, and far more about how you do (or don't) stay within the design specifications of the vehicle, especially for weight. Don't forget that max payload allowance includes the weight of the passengers, too. Most vehicles that aren't full-sized pickups have a surprisingly low payload capacity (often around 1000 lbs), as they're built primarily to be passenger vehicles, not work vehicles. Their design intent is to take up to 4-5 passengers from point A to point B. The max payload capacity should be found on a sticker inside the driver's door. Everything added to the vehicle except a full tank of gas counts against the payload limit.

@@jonnytacooutdoorsI’ve seen a few of your videos & it seems your Tacoma has left you stranded a few times, do you think it’s because you haven’t built it correctly or because Tacoma is not a reliable truck once you start adding bigger tires and roof top tents?
