Oh Nisha I can so relate to post Christmas blues. I definitely DO have "what is my purpose in life" days. It seems to get worse the older I get. "A daughter's a daughter all her life, a son's a son till he finds a wife" is SO true. You only have to look around and see how few sons take on the practical carer role - though those who do usually make outstanding carers! What I would say is at Max's age you have it all ahead of you still. You may end up being blessed with grandchildren which can be a complete joy. I feel optimistic for 2022 in general. I've stopped watching anything negative especially on social media as it just drags me down. Chin up my dear. You have your health and are very flexible (a lot more than me anyway!)

Absolutely!!! Max is still so young and he will hopefully bring you the "loves of your life" in Grandchildren! I have baby niece that I am loving to pieces! The thrill of my life right now!!

Yes..I remember that saying, but it's not true. While I did Christmas after Christmas, all was good, but I put my foot down and told my daughters to take their turn, but now they just go to their mother-in-law and have the meal cooked for them!! Gosh, once I was married, the older woman handed over the job, but I don't see the new generation taking it up now!! 😢

Oh I understand about your son and your relationship. When my son did move out on his own I cryed for months. He'd come home to see us and as soon as he'd leave I'd cry again. It was awhile before I got through that. Now he's married and it's still hard. But his life is good.so I'm happy. Just know they do love you forever no matter how close or how far. ♥️

Nisha, You said so much in the video that I relate with! Girl, you are not alone! I feel like you do about Motherhood. It is a very hard job! I also have one son. Most if the time I do feel abandoned by him just because he grew up and went his own way. He us a man but I still relate to him as " so son." Sort of an ageless thing. I also have depression & take meds and will for the rest of my life. I am alive bc of them. So what? I only get scared when my insurance wants to stop paying for them. And, I get mad about it. This is rreductions! Also, I am a warn weather, sunny type girl (in my early 60's). Can't believe I am that old! Ha! I do not like the cold, Grey, wet days. That zaps my energy & motivation. Thank you for being so honest & real with us. It is so refreshing. You are beautiful inside & out. No one is perfect, but u get pretty close w your gorgeous makeup ideas and techniques! I know that I will have a good time w u when u start applying your makeup! You are quite normal! We women have so much to deal with. I think so much more than men in just being HUMAN. Our bodies are so complicated and it all effects our feelings, emotions, how we see the world , ourselves. I could go on and on. Ha! I have worked on myself in my thinking, not judging so much, trying to put my emotions into perspective, exercise always helps but J need the meds to do these things. For now, I am reasonably happy. I have things coming up in the year that will be dreadfully painful so I ask God to help me to not dwell on them and to give me the wisdom, faith, and emotional control that I will need. God in Jesus is good. Stay Fabulous, Gorgeous!!!

Yes my son is married w/ children & is always with his wifes family during holidays It's true especially if they live in another state far away What can u do but just hope they are healthy & happy At least u still have your husband & dog I'm single & cant have animals where I live So it gets lonely at times Love your vids Happy new year

I agree Nisha...if I wanted to look natural I would go bare faced. ❤ I'm not a mom, but I do understand the post Christmas blues. It is much better now, but for several years after my husband passed away it was very sad. We both loved getting the house decorated inside and out and it just wasn't the same without him. So I treat my cats as my fur kids. Where I live, Florida, we have hardly any seasonal changes. It's hot all the time. Christmas day was 85° F. I would love living somewhere with the four seasons. I love Louie's fluffy tail

I’m feeling like this is a conversation with a dear friend! 2 years ago I was diagnosed with SAD. It took my dr and I 7 years to put the pieces together that every January I was I. The office, low energy, no desire to do anything and not feeling “ myself” at all. This year we tweaked my meds and I use therapy OTT lights and what a huge difference, even with rainy weather and Covid garbage all around!! My white lights stay up in a few places and I love them as dark winter is my issue trigger! My tree is a pencil 7 ft with white lights and snow items! My fireplace is white garland, white lights and snow items! Cheery, bright and welcoming! My home, my answer! In my kitchen, I have snow items throughout and tiny lite items, so fun. I struggle with depression but have these tools that remind me brighter days ahead. I get outside often with my puppy!! I have embraced this new season of empty nest and exploring people and activities I enjoy now as opposed to burying my life in my 4 girls lives. They are highly educated and have power careers and no time for a family, so I do love my 3 rescues and giving them love and a great life!! I spent 33 years on being the best Mom I could be but now I have moved to a different place in life. I’m gonna celebrate my life everyday and be my best self. Happy 2022! Ps 41 years married also a factor❤️

Happy new year everyone I’ve had a houseful all holidays and My house looked like I’d been burgled every day 😂 but wouldn’t have it any other way Been out and hated the whole expensive experience Dinner was fantastic probably due to the wine lol 😂 Got the emergency chairs out everyone sat at different heights it was hilarious 😂 Now ??? Back to just the two of us and boy is it quiet !! I had a real meltdown “moment “ when I was cleaning my house & saw my little grandson’s hand print on the TV . Totally ridiculous just cried ! They live 300 miles from us so I cherish every time we’re together especially Christmas xx 💋

Nisha,if i attempted those exercises i would be still on the floor next Christmas, dead. As for Motherhood. It is the most joyous, worrying, proud,worthwhile experience. I have two daughters 37,38.A son 23.They all went to university and came back.Girls are married with two children each.My son has finished university and is home with me.My family are my life.You never stop being a mother " we suffer in their coming and in their going". And yet at my children's ages they need me just as much today as they did the day they were born.I also have two beautiful, wonderful sons in law.Its all good.Dont worry it will work out just fine.💐💐💐

Happy New Year Dear Nisha, glad you got to take Louie out,yeah you always look happier outside & I think it’s completely natural for you to feel a bit tender.I think all mothers feel the same as you,I nearly made once but I don’t have children,I have dogs instead lol however when I lost my mam I did feel abandoned .Now I know my dogs depend on & I have a conversation with them like you do with Louie,I even moan at them lol.Let’s hope this is a good year with no colds lol Looking forward to seeing you blossom towards the spring from Jane 🌸🌼🌸🌼

I have two boys 23 and 27. My oldest is married and I can so relate to the “he is your son until he gets married” bit. When you started getting teary-eyed, it made me want to cry 😢 As far as the being sad, it could be seasonal affective disorder, or “the winter blues”. Self care, vitamin D3 daily and know how many ppl you help and how much we all love you might help you get through this rough patch. Take care you. Love your channel ❤️❤️❤️

Happy New Year! This is a strange time of year for a lot! The rush to get ready for holidays is over, company is gone and we’re left with more time on our hands. Cold, cloudy days don’t help. One of the best gifts I was given for Christmas is an electric blanket throw. It’s soft and works wonders while watching TV. The dogs love it and cuddle with me….very comforting! That seems to help the “blues.” Just remember, you don’t have to take down decorations until you feel like it. Enjoy them with some nice candles and don’t do more than you feel like doing! Keep warm, find some good movies and pamper yourself! 💕🌸💕🌸💕

Christmas can be the hardest of times. Last year in 2020, we lost our 25 year old great nephew on Christmas day. He had been sick for so long but such a wonderful light in our lives. Moms and dads always worry about their kids. Sending hugs! I'm hoping 2022 is kind and gentle to us all.

I think I prefer to order the food from a restaurant and bring it to my mom's house.. that way no clean up but also still feel like it's a home setting. Happy New Year 💓

well nisha you must have been unlucky as i went out on christmas day and it was wonderful to have someone else cook the food, im a vegetarian and was able to have salmon which was cooked beautifully, atmosphere was great and the staff excellent...xx anyway Happy New Year to you and your family xx

I can so relate to the post Christmas blues, being lazy & needing routine & especially the boy issue! I was off work over Christmas & our schedules were all messed up. We stayed up all night & slept way in. I sat down last night & filled out my planner for the week. So I was ready to go this am. I have a tablet which a weekly planner I bought from Amazon. When the week is done you tear that sheet off & there is a new sheet for the new week! It really helps me! Boys…I have 3. 24, 22 & 21. My 22 is at home still. My 21 goes to college about 45 minutes away & lives there while in school. My 24 year old is getting married in May. He spends the majority of his time with his fiancée’s family. Their visits with us on the holidays always seem very quick & I always feel like we are second choice & just get what time is left. I have gone through all the emotions you described. It is such a struggle. As far as the worrying. Your friend is some what correct. When my son is at school I still worry about him but it is a little easier when you don’t know what they are doing. He is home for Christmas (well a little longer bc they are on line for covid right now 😒). He has been going out with friends & I’m like are you going to be drinking? Are you staying the night? Do you have a designated driver? Call us no matter what if you needs us! 🤣🤷🏼‍♀️😭😊Struggle bus! 🤣 New week! New Year! We got this!

My youngest son is 33 years old and still lives at home with me!! Nisha, you never stop worrying about your children, it does not matter how old they are. My boys are in their forties and I always still cook for them. They live on their own but we have lunch every Sunday...not sure when they get married how it will be. Enjoy everyday with him while he is there with you. God bless.

Nisha as a 65 yr old, I have experienced this feeling so many, many times. Having a daughter and a son, the old saying is so true. But I am very happy that my son takes good care of his family. He's always available if and when I need him. You will ALWAYS have a purpose. With 4 grandchildren, I'm busier than ever and love every second I get to spend with them. You might benefit from a "Happy Light" - so many claim it hugely improves mental well-being (I have one but always forget to use it). My 29 year old son is a Washington DC police officer, also part of the Riot Police - talk about worry! Yes, I just have boys and recently realized I have to let them go and get on with my own life - hard! Love your videos, thank you for them. (Miss my annual trips to England - wonder when that'll ever happen again!)

Firstly a very happy new year to you and yours. I’d like to say a big thank you for your honesty, I feel exactly the same, I found Christmas tiring and drawn out, I took my decorations down earlier than normal and I felt better getting them down and clearing up. I have 3 grown up sons and 1 daughter, one son has moved back home, so I wouldn’t worry too much,lol. My dog walking attire is like you, always have my hair and makeup on and boots and jeans, I enjoy make up I wear it for me . Thank you once again x

I feel your pain. It is depressing after the lead up to a big event. My Christmas this year was happier than some previous ones. I know the blues will eventually pass. It’s helpful to remember that. We had our traditional Christmas dinner in a lovely country cosy pub on Christmas Eve. I did a family buffet Christmas Day which was quite relaxed. Love your makeup as usual Nisha, Happy New Year.

I only have one child, a daughter and I worry about her whether she lives with me or not. She lived on her own for 2 1/2 years going to school and then came back home and I still worry about her. Happy new year Nisha , hope its a good one for you and your family ! We went out for christmas lunch for the first time this year in a big group and the food was terrible all pre cooked and not fresh like my own so I was thinking exactly the same as you ! I think you are thinking about having that empty nest feeling . My son and daughter are only 22 months apart in their 20 s and I am equally protective although my daughter is more independent . The day they both when away to uni I sat and cried at the station in the car , since then they have both come back and forth and have their own homes and partners . You eventually get more time for yourself to travel with friends etc , next step grandchildren so you will be needed once again ! But I too surround myself with little needy dogs ha !!xxx

I have two sons and miss them every day! I only hear from them once a week. They each spend more time with their wife’s parents. It’s really awful because they moved away. All I ever wanted was to be a mother! On the other hand, a friend sees her son and his family every week. It’s really so hard when they leave!

Hi Nisha! I wish you and your family, not to mention Louis, a healthy year in which to fulfill all your dreams! I've never been much of a Christmas or New Year's person! It's been many years since I decorated! I rather put my efforts on the food. I like to make Quebec recipes for the holidays! But I am happy when everything is finished! The desire to do lots of new things comes with the new year! Here in Quebec we are in lockdown for a few days before the New Year! Restaurants, cinemas etc. are closed. Personally, I don't mind too much because I don't have family anymore and I don't go out very often. My boyfriend comes every day and that's great! In this year, despite everything that is happening, we have to wait patiently for things to calm down, even if it is very difficult. I have anxiety and depression and it's not always easy but I have to be creative to feel better and that's what I'm doing. My psychiatrist told me at the very beginning of the pandemic that it was better not to listen to everything that is said because it affects our mental state too much. I followed those recommendations and I am doing better! xxx

Happy New Year! Nisha I have grandchildren the age of your son, boy/girl twins. The girl is expecting a baby in June so this year I become a great grandma. I can tell you the worry never stops from the children, to the grandchildren and now to this new one being born in this crazy world. I understand getting the blues I sometimes wonder if men ever get them. The older I get the more emotional I become and I catch myself crying way more than I wish. I think I am made up to feel emotions very deeply. I had flowers coming up and my fire bush budding in December. Then we went down to below freezing last few days…crazy weather, crazy times! Love and best wishes for 2022! 💕

We used to have a huge family and always had home cooked dinners. Now, everyone has died except my mom and 2 daughters. We had sushi this year which we bought from the sushi place and brought it home and ate and had our celebration. Other than being pretty non-traditional, it was perfect! No cooking yet great fun at home!!!

Happy New Year Nisha! I’m English but live in the US now. I would never go out for Christmas dinner because Americans don’t generally have the same dinner that we do. I cook a full turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Best meal of the year, although Boxing Day leftovers are almost as good. I hope 2022 is a great year for you. I love watching your videos 😊

We have a daughter age 31 and a 26 year old son and it’s definitely true you never stop worrying but we are lucky they both have their own homes and partners that we love who are a happy addition to our little family. The thing about son’s hasn’t proved to be true in our case, he lives a 10 minute walk away which is a bonus and I love his partner like another daughter. I always wanted a bigger family and now thats what I have. Change is scary but can be a blessing. Sorry you are feeling a bit down, getting back into routine can help and starting a something new, maybe aqua classes could be good for your joints, I try to go at least twice a week. Happy new year to you and yours Nisha ✨ We’ve been out twice maybe for xmas dinner I’m like you hate the stress of all the extra stuff to get out on time but I never enjoyed it as much as being home even though every year I say never again we’re going out!! 😂 You will never lose Max Nisha, just from the small snippets we see here on YT you can see the bond, I have a daughter and son and while it’s true I hear/see less of him than my daughter we still have a very strong connection and they appreciate you more when they’re away at least that’s my experience ☺️ take care and I feel more hopeful this year WILL be better 💕

I suggest homemade meals but perhaps simplified?? At Thanksgiving I did Turkey and all the sides. I was so disgusted when dishes laid on the table as my family retired to a movie after the meal! 3 days of cleaning, baking, prepping and I was alone in the kitchen putting food away! That evening I told my hubby that I was done doing it all! Christmas was simply and the food day out until they wanted to fix a take home bag. I have 4 girls who are “on vacay” when they hit my door! Their husbands follow suit. So I’m done! Fixing what is yummy but easy. I don’t need to prove I’m the best cook! I’m tired being so tired I don’t enjoy visits! New Years was so relaxed and I asked hubby to put away the food!!

Both of mine bought their first houses last year and i haven't had a chance to feel abandoned because they are fighting over having me in to help them with painting and decorating and renovating, i have a list of decorating and sorting out to do with my own house then . We have been out for Christmas lunch Z few times, it really depends where you go, once was like your experience, but we then went to a much smaller venue, it was fabulous, there was even a magician lots of fun and no rush. Sorry you got the blues, it does hit us all at times. Thanks for sharing 🥰

Happy new year Nisha. I have 3 boys. They are all so different but very loving. My eldest is nearly 18, I can’t believe it…where has that time gone. I worry every time they leave the house. I had a little shihtzu when I got broody again lol. Hope 2022 is a better year for everyone but worried about my nursing job though tried not to let it ruin Christmas❤️
