I just wanna add, if people are interested in the Audi TT in general, my channel is dedicated to it, with plenty of interesting content, so head over and check it out please 🙏
@@BWSTT I use to have a leon 20vt upgraded to almost 400 and the red r8s worked perfect. At least that's my experience . I never needed to use the ls2 .
Bryn has contributed massive to the MK1 TT community with his DIY maintenance video's on his RU-vid page. Very cool to see him end up here! Funny you mentioned the gearing issue in Brunchen, I've ran into that aswell haha.
This was a first. Doing a lap, "breaking" the car, fixing it, going out again. Never gets old seeing the owners when they realize the real potential of their car.
This man helps me tremendously to fix my girlfriends tt. I’m very thankful to his generosity to share his knowledge on RU-vid! This video was a match of my favorite RU-vidrs ❤
I was waiting it 3 weeks or something like that! This guy made me save a lot of money in my TT. He´s a beast doing the job. Great Misha, greetings from spain
I drove the nurburgring for the first time this week and was blown away by the whole town of nurburg, truly an amazing place. I stopped by apex hoping to see you there but missed you, no problem, drove a golf gti through nurblife and had the most fun I think I've ever had, can't wait to come back for round 2. You are truly an inspiration!
Been waiting for this one. Bryn's advice and videos on the MK1 has saved me a fair amount of money on garage labour. Can't beat a MK1 TT for an honest salary sports car!
Two of my favorite RU-vidrs together...great fun. Love my 2003 TT Quattro. Loved seeing one put through it's paces, even if it had some minor cooling/output issues. It is a 20 something year old car. Sounded great, and tracked nicely.
Btw, im on my 2nd TT 225, and have broken so many coils and airmass sensors,, with the coil problem, when building new engine and alot of research and advices from people who built these engines for racetrack purpose found out the voltage harness delivers too low V to the coilpacks and that will break them, i fixed that on mine, have colder plugs BKR7 and ACCEL high performance coils, no issue at all after 2 years and 400bhp with ethanol. Ive tried NGK, BERU and R8/2.0T coils,, the accel ones are mint! To the other case about the Airmass, one of the best most advised airfilter you can use is from AEM, foam or other kinds will reck the sensor, ive broken like 8-10 airmass sensors, after AEM swap never.. So have fun, stay safe, awesome driving from Misha and good to see ye had fun with the ol gal :D
Nice to see one of these driven hard, as an old MkIV GTI 20v owner and fan, the TT platform was the next step up and hearing a 20v working hard was a fun nostalgia trip. Power loss almost certainly heat soak, they were quite susceptible to it when driven hard without a lot of cooling upgrades, particularly the intercoolers. This would've had the dual side intercooler setup from the factory, which is very good, but would be hitting its limits with a tune halfway into a nurburgring lap I'm sure.
IDK what it was when these were first released, but i wanted one so bad 😅 Still a cool looking little car, wouldn't mind one of these first gens with the 2nd gen RS's I5 👌
It's sad they discontinued the TT... such a cool timeless design. I loved it when it was introduced and still do today. Audi makes very bland cars these days.
@@BWSTT I'm suprised people still haven't figured this out. If you really like red you could just aswell get V6 A4 coilpacks, they are the same fitment as 1.8t.
@@BWSTT well i don't actually know that , everone here in Greece who has a tuned 20vt car use red ones instead of stock... (Skoda octavia RS 20vt 1.8t turned to 2.0l via wisseco pistons, 400hp )
@@m0rb1d43 it is all about reliability , our car mechanics say NGK R8 RED , we use them... If some5hing happens we throw the coil pack to its head haha
Dat is goed voorbereid op pad gaan, weten wat er kapot kan gaan en die onderdelen meenemen zodat je dag(en), weekend niet verpest worden door auto pech.
Do you want more engine gains but can’t justify the expense of rebuilding a good engine? Simply apply new Misha 6000, one simple 7-9 minute application will ensure you can justify a full rebuild and upgrade!
As a long time mk1 TT owner I was so happy to see this. Amazed to see it stonking up to 140 at a couple points. Def need a “RING” spec upgrade with bigger IC and R8 coil packs but brilliant lap, looked pretty neutral at times. Lots of capabilities buried in that car. They sell for silly money in UK, every one should be building a track toy out of them .
Out of curiosity, is the car underperforming on the straights? I had around 270hp aswell on my A3 when I still had stock turbo and I feel like it pulled a bit harder then the TT is managing, regardless beautiful car and great build 👌
in my experience when you heatsoak a 1.8T, you're gonna experience 10-20% power loss depending on ambients and how hard you keep pushing it. I think they were probably down 30 HP or so by the end of that, most of which became apparent by the halfway point.
Not a T(F)SI and still, any time is coil nom nom time. It's always good to have a look at those misfire counters in live data before entering the track.
I'm a bit surprised those coil packs weren't upgraded with the increase in power. Got to give Audi credit, their updated coil packs are used in about every modified platform. But they're better than the ones he had.
down on power for sure. Only doing 180'ish on the uphill straight, without traffic and with Misha behind the wheel, I'd guess around 230-240hp max at best. Cool owner tho
the hardest part right here not to break the car, that was close, atleast he had backup parts, pro tip always have spare parts cause who knows what could go wrong.
misha is rev matching while downshifting and braking at the same time. this driving technique is known as 'heel toe' and even though its really only beneficial in racing, it can be done driving on the street for some added fun
Thats the risk on the ring, there’s not many places to just pull over safely. Misha knows a thing or 2 about cars, i know the TT very well, We knew that off load it was ok, so it was fine to limp it to the exit, and then drive to Lindner Ferienpark off load to sort it in a safe location. Dont get me wrong, if we had seen the red oil pressure light of doom, i would have told him to switch off and coast, but other that that most issues don’t require an immediate stop
Misha ever people car before again view tech mech engine and systems normalised work Track . Real car problem start track problems not good . Track real Heawy work all cars model ..old or young. Save car before good You can safely drive without defects. 😎👍
