Plot twist: Skipper and the penguins faked being out of gas and just shaned a red beam on the bulb to make it look like it was lighting and when Kowalski said that the engines shut down, one of the penguins turned it off. Later, Skipper informed the animals that the plane is about to crash, and when he did, he said it in a calm and happy tone without any worry whatsoever, and they just wanted to kill off the rest of the animals and the reason why they did that is because they think that they can fly since their birds, even though penguins are flightless birds. Later on, at 0:22, when Melman said that he loved Gloria, that made Skipper fly the plane normal again. However, Alex and Marty looked annoyed at Melman because he would have made the movie end in 2 minutes, and so, Melman then says that he loves her like the beach or a good book. We can also see the penguins pull up and gear down when they're close to ground later on in the film.
