Hey good job here for the case swap. That being said, with the extra space you got now, you can easily be creative and find a cheap but cool funko pop figure at your closest dollar store and put it on top of the PSU! :)
I love building the SwaptiPlex (Optiplex in a modern case). For those hunting, you can also use an old Dell XPS which comes with a more standard board and the power supply is usually 450-550W with PCIe so you don't even have to buy a new power supply.
I actually bought a pc like this cause it was a budget pc and cheap I bought it today and I’ve been wanting a gaming pc but this is a start i am waiting on it still this video will teach me something i pretty sure thanks man.
First! 🎉And luv your videos pls keep going. I have been wanting to buy one but hav no money and hav been researching for months, enjoying what I can't hav rn 😢
Great video! I'm planning on doing a build like this. Currently, I'm planning to get: OptiPlex, CPU cooler, GPU, HDD, NVME SSD, 16 GB ram, and case. do I need any adapters or other parts?
You'll need a CPU cooler adapter, and if your GPU needs external power, it's best to get a new power supply. Also, most cheaper Optiplex models don't support NVMe SSDs, so you'll need a SATA SSD instead of an HDD. But if you want to play it safe, you could just buy a cheaper prebuilt from Amazon, like the ones I’ve shown in some of my other videos.
Actually it is capable of streaming, but for that, you’ll have to lower the game settings and the stream settings in obs studio or whatever platform you’ll use to stream to Twitch/RU-vid/etc. I’ve tried it before. Also it’s ddr3 ram for this build. I also have some other budget build videos a little higher end if you wanna check them out.
I have an optiplex 9020, but they told me that I have to buy an adapter for the power supply to be able to change it to another case, the problem I have apparently is that I will not have the front panel or power button because it is not compatible
Yeah sure! I can try BR next time, it was an i5 4th gen if I’m not mistaken. Already sold it for $300. Reason I’m so comfortable selling it for that price is because so many companies sell worse around this price on Amazon, eBay, etc. Case alone is $100
In my country it is possible to build a mid range gaming PC with 150 dollars 100$ for secondhand pc with ryzen 3-5 50$ for gpu rx 570 or rx 580 (trusted brands)
Hey love your content been watching all your vids all week and want to do the same thing. If you dont mind sharing what size case did you use it will be greatly appreciated.
In the past I've bought magnetic dust filters on Amazon and used for making i/o shields. Definitely better than nothing just hand cut all the ports. I've done a few times and they turned out good. Never had a complaint from customers. 👍
Is it possible to case swap a Dell Inspiron 3020 Small factor PC into a Gaming PC? The motherboard that came with it is shaped oddly because it has multiple USB slot on the front.
This works for almost all of them really you just need to see if the motherboard would line up with the new case, otherwise you can drill new holes in the case or just put a low profile graphics card in the optiplex
I’ve got really interested in your content and have really been wanting a pic for a while now and I see you have some spare parts in the back I was wondering if you could make me a budget pc as I don’t have enough money to but one as I can’t work and my parents don’t have the funds due personal issues
Hi! I'm planning to buy an optiplex with an i5 8th gen, 256 gb of m.2, 8 gb of ram and upgrade the ram to 16, add more storage, and slap a great gpu for it that won't bottleneck. Is it okay for work, editting, gaming, and recording? I really want to be a content creator 😅 Edit: I really like ur videos btw!
But sorry, do you put the fans and then leave all those holes open? Fans like this are useless, the air does not exchange because the suction fans take air from the outside, and the air that the fans introduce comes out immediately. A stagnation of hot air forms in the center 😄It's faster not to install these fans and you'll also save money, boil the motherboard a bit but who cares
