This video goes out to my fellow Adult Fans of LEGO (AFOL) and collectors. I built a display stand for my LEGO UCS Millennium Falcon, and the Falcon fell apart in the process. Let this be a lesson for how NOT to mount your Falcon to a stand!

You maintained your sense of humor more than I could. Watching these videos in preparation for my stand is giving me bad dreams.

The hardest part is just convincing yourself to do it. Check out the other comments in this thread. Some didn't seem to have as much trouble as I did.

I did a similar way, but did figure out you can lift it from the exhaust ports. One hand on each side and lift and rotate up , but extremely stressful none the less.

Yeah, I learned a lot about the right way to handle it AFTER I partially destroyed it 🤣

@@CraigSoupStudios same, for me the bottom gunner section broke twice and the right front section came off once when mounting on the stand. It certainly was no easy feat.

I have a clear Perspex stand for mine. When I’m looking at it from my bed, it looks like it’s flying. Pretty cool.

i was fortunate in that my year long procrastination in building my Falcon lead me to this pro-tip: mount the falcon mid-way through the build

You should have called me. I could have come over to help. LOL all the parts falling of was cracking me up. Everyone around me at work was looking at me while I was laughing out-loud. You need to put the blue light in the back by the thrusters.

Maybe I should have asked for help. But then the internet wouldn't be able to laugh at my misfortunes, so maybe it's good I didn't!

Hi! i write you from Switzerland 🇨🇭👋 👍 I dont know, why so many people have „problems“ whit mounting the MF on the Efferman‘ Stand. I have done this in a few seconds, in max. 30 seconds… i removed all panels on the upper side. Then folded my blanket 4 times (quartered) and turned the MF upside down on his back on the blanket. After this it was very easy to do the rest…. No parts are broken or felt apart… 😇🤓 And for my little ego: i replaced all parts over bricklink system to black technic parts, no gray or blue pins…

I was too nervous to turn it completely upside down. Good to know that works!

I watched a video which showed a guy taking all the top panels off, which doesn't take long, then laying it completely upside down on 2 soft cushions. After taking the landing gear off, the stand was then mounted and the complete assembly turned back up on the stand. I put it up on the shelf and then replaced all of the top panels. It works perfectly, but obviously you do have to be careful. This was all done by myself. And believe it or not I didn't have 1 piece fall off :)

I saw a similar video (probably the same one), but for some reason I couldn’t bring myself to turn it upside down. I was afraid it would fall apart. In hindsight, that seems to have been the better approach by far!

I need to mount mine because my daughter was able to reach my falcon on a dresser and pulled of a bunch of pieces. I built the stand yesterday and the instructions were pretty bad. I will probably get my wife to help me put it on the stand. Also considering an acrylic case

About 4 months out from moving out into my first home. been looking for videos to help figure out how to move the thing safely. This just caused my fear to increase lol....I am absolutley terrified to move my falcon through doors, down stairs and then a 15 min car ride. Everyone wish me luck! haha

I have no issues applying the stand. However, the back covers are so loose that they always fall of as a whole when trying to reinstall them. mostly because the long center part is getting too much weight. How did you resolve that issue?

How is the stand holding up a month later? Also, it must have taken quite a while to put the pieces back 😅
@CraigSoupStudios
@CraigSoupStudios 3 года назад
Haven't had any more issues with the stand. It's holding up nicely! And yeah, it took a couple hours to figure out how to reassemble everything after the catastrophe, but I suppose it could have been much worse.

This whole video stressed me the hell out 😂 I just recently got into Lego sets and slipped on the stairs while carrying my completed slave 1 set, thankfully I didn't drop it and only banged my knee. When transporting Lego sets though is it best to just disassemble the whole thing and rebuild it at the new location?
@CraigSoupStudios
@CraigSoupStudios 2 года назад
Yeah, it stressed me out, too. The first time I picked up the Falcon after completing it, I was nervous just to lift it off the table. You have to learn exactly where to grab it so all the little bits don't fall off.

Why didn’t you just put the falcon upside down🥲
@CraigSoupStudios
@CraigSoupStudios 2 года назад
There's a lot more that would have fallen apart if I had turned it upside down. It's a very heavy set, and the top side wasn't designed to bear much weight. I suppose it could have worked, but it just seems to flimsy to try it that way.
