I built a food truck in The Sims 4 

You could put an old sofa that a sim has “thrown out” under the shelter where the green pick up is, if you want somewhere for your sims to nap instead of the dumpsters

James, you could also put a tent under the parking shelter next to where everyone eats , and can you hide the host station in a debug item. like a barrel /bin or a rock?

A brother sister dine out LP really brings it back to older bigwallet R2R. Love it!

I'm thinking you can hide the host station in a barrel or a crate perhaps, and then put another menu on it so it looks like people are looking at the menu while they stand around. If it stops being functional you can probably use the basement trick to raise the item back on top of the station so visually you can't see it but you can still use it

This build is so creative! Also can't wait to watch the multiplayer video, I love how chaotic they can be like the board game one 😂😂

Ravasheen has amazing CC, one set in particular is made for James and R2R. It’s her OTG and R2R pack that has things like a 5 gallon bucket made into a toilet and a makeshift shower. She has another set for restaurants with replacement items so the host station is something totally different. I believe that set is It’s the Lentil Things. Both would fit this upcoming challenge perfectly! Really looking forward to watching both the multiplayer with Dr Gluon and however the current Bigwallet generation ends up with a restaurant to run!

You could put the wait station by the lot entrance as if it was a lot till. Very common in USA cities

How perfect! I love dingy dirty looking builds on the sims and prefer them to clean ones - makes gameplay more realistic and fun

This puddle remembered me so much of a student exchange to Russia, about 15 years ago. We were fetched up in an regular but retired bus, not one of these long distance ones, just a simple one and we went on a 10 hour trip to our destination over Russian country roads. We stopped on a roadhouse, where a toilet was built into a small shed. I was so lucky to be one of the first ones going in there! We were about 20 pupils plus teacher's and everyone needed to pee. When I went back to the bus, I had a look behind the shed where a small stream had formed and everything our travel group had left flowed into the field behind the shed. Maybe it wasn't built for about 25 people in a row relieving themselves. Maybe the ground around didn't look as solid as before...

I'm so excited about the possibilities of this mod. Dine out has needed a refresh for a long time and this will help in case that doesn't come. Really looking forward to seeing you and Gluon play together and checking it out. 😊

There is a nap spot great but I think you need a fridge to feed yourself. If you guys gonna work for long hours that might be useful 😄

They can even have a sort of van or tent like they're hippies, rags to riches. I swear yall simers are making this game an infinite of scenarios. Awesome

The landscape designer/architect in me, is dying to place a couple of benches between the trees along the street at the entrance, for street appeal, and also, for napping. Maybe the trees and benches actually belong to the city, and aren't actually part of the parking lot. They would fit in nicely with the rest of the benches in the neighborhood. Awesome build, btw. Especially love the grungy bathrooms!

You could put a bed in the raised platform area, because it's common for truckers to sleep in the cab

Think of it like Chic-fil-A. They have a pseudo host station before taking orders in some of the designs. The one I’m referencing is a drive-thru and outdoor seating combo here in my city.

you can "hide" the host station with some debug boxes, so it fits in better, but is still functional

James an idea for the host station, find a debug item that the sims would walk through that matches the decor and put it over the host stand, maybe some stacked crates. And put it by the window of the food truck so it looks like they are standing in line to order food.

So excited to see you and Gluon. Haven’t seen y’all together since the Stardew Valley saga! Also, I worked for a year in a restaurant where the kitchen was in a food truck parked on the property and you nailed it. We even had a big bumpout exactly like you used to cover the van that we did use for storage 😂

My favorite food place is sort of a trailer you walk up to and order from the window. There are a few picnic tables and they have coolers with drinks in them outside for you to purchase. Definitely doesn’t look like much but has the best barbecue. Look forward to it every time I’m on vacation that way. There is very realistic here.

FYI you can use the wear wolves bar truck for a food truck. Place a wall where the bar goes for the stove and at the back of the truck there's a one square space to place the fridge.

I'm excited for this one! I've never bought Dine Out because it's been buggy from the beginning but this mod makes me want to finally get it, this looks so fun!

Maybe you could put a sandwich board sign in front of the host station or stick a menu sign to the front of it, and put some sauces or napkins or something on the station with move objects, like it’s where you get napkins and ketchup and look at a menu?

After you earn a little money could you build an “rv” and park it on the lot with the food truck? Even a box truck to RV conversion build could be a fun way to have a “house” on this lot once you earn some money.

I know you don't often do CC but since you are using Carl's Mod you maybe should consider using Ravasheen's Enjoy the Lentil Things. the host station and waiter stations are much easier to work with because you could make the host station look like it is just an order/payment tablet off to the side

Love the build, as always awesome creation. I have to say though, thank goodness for the modding community. I can’t help but to feel a bit perturbed as many of the mods made available actually fix and clean up some messes from the devs & ea teams (who get paid a salary yet it’s the modders (who are not paid like the devs) who are the true mvps and the backbone for ts4.

I love this whole concept; the build, the gameplay mod from Carl, the gritty Rags to Riches, etc. 😍 You've done a really superb job (as per usual 😉). 🤩 Edit: Typo 😅
