What detail is assigned to that blue carry box that also serves as a heater stand with what appeared to be added mounting / connecting holes for the heater’s 4 base “feet”
@JoelTremblayCA
@JoelTremblayCA Год назад
Good eye, I added 4 bolts through a blue grocery bin. Not sure what they are called. I made the bolts stick out the bottom so that the legs of the heater can prop into them securely. The bin also keeps the heater off the ground and can be used for transportation! Thanks for watching!

do you find the Pelican 75 tough to pull? I have a 45 and it sucks. I think because i have a decent amount of weight in a tiny sleigh. I liked that heater. Would be worth having around incase of an emergency or portable heater around the homestead. I have diesel since i have a tractor. My fishing this year on Nip is like the video. Seems the walleye are just licking the scales off my minnows. lmao Great video as always Joel!!

Great video!! been wondering how to run a diesel heater when most vevor, webasto, etc require 15amp input. Most gas and battery generators have 12 volt 10 amp outlets.
@JoelTremblayCA
@JoelTremblayCA 7 месяцев назад
Yes exactly, even the power packs we see now flooding the market only have 10A outlets and won't start a heater. Best to connect directly to a power source. Thanks for watching

Having it outside makes sense, plus the clicking sounds annoying. I suppose you could try and re-rout the intake to a second pipe you run through the door. Maybe even shelter the unit itself too.

@JoelTremblayCA
@JoelTremblayCA 10 месяцев назад
They work great for what they are, and I personally have one. But you get more bang for buck using a battery if you don't need 120v. I know a lot of people have had issue trying to run a diesel heater off of them too, mine for example won't work with the diesel heater. Thanks for watching!

What is the price difference between the diesel and propane per gallon ?! Here in the states diesel is 5 a gallon and like a buck a gallon for propane , kool build tho !
@JoelTremblayCA
@JoelTremblayCA Год назад
I'm not sure what the conversion is but diesel around here at the moment is around $1.89/L it costs like $7 to fill the heater. The 1lb propane bottles which are a total rip off are like $16 per bottle... Not sure what the going rate is to fill a normal tank. Thanks for watching!

I'm curious to know what kind of temperature you achieve in that tent. That little heater seems pretty cool for the price, and I really like the portability... wondering if it makes enough heat to just take the sting out of the air, or if it warms the room enough to be in a t-shirt. Would it warm a small enclosed trailer (like your camp trailer) enough to make the wife happy? :)

So I guess the Bluetti didn't suffice?
@JoelTremblayCA
@JoelTremblayCA Год назад
Yes, unfortunately the Bluetti 12V cigarette lighter plug is only rated to 10A and the heater probably pulls just over that at startup, so it sets the unit into a fault (trips the fuse). I wish they made a 15A DC outlet on it then it would be perfect! Running directly off the battery is best in my opinion for this setup as I rarely need of an inverter for 120v AC. Its sad, I laid down to watch your video cus of interest in DIY applications. I was saddened when I got up and had changed the video when you made it a sponsored video. As a 50 year ice fisherman. Imagine getting FREE access to videos on topics you're interested in. Videos of which an individual spent hours and hours scripting, filming, and editing, on-top of physically building something with their own money, and then complain that the said individual included a sponsor of a brand, not a complete random one I might add, but one that directly correlates to the topic, products, and project of said FREE (to you) video to watch... I'm sorry the one and half minutes of me talking about a battery and how it works forced you to get up from your bed... Maybe you should get a remote? Ah, the batteries are probably dead.

This isn't "fishing." This is sitting in a tent freezing with some dude and throwing back all the fish because you're not really there to fish. What are you there for? Come on. We know.
@JoelTremblayCA
@JoelTremblayCA Год назад
Not sure what you mean by this. For your information our lakes in our region have "slot sizes" which essentially determine the size of fish you are allowed to keep with your fishing license. None of the fish we caught fit into the legal size we can keep therefore we have to put it back... Something to do with conservation of the species? The whole point of this video was to focus on the heater and power build. Thanks for watching.
