SCAMMER ALERT: I have some scammers pretending to be me in the comments and asking people to message them on WhatsApp, this is not me and please do not message them! My course is available for purchase but will ONLY be available on my official website Cassiyjohnson.com. Stay safe
I get those on my comments all the time. I always block and report them. Thanks for the heads up though. I’m sure there are people that don’t realize that until it’s too late.
Go ahead and reply to the email confirmation you got for the purchase and I will reset your password for you or see what the issue might be! @seekingtruth1623
Great video. I was wondering if you still thinks it’s okay to used Creative Fabrica and use a design as is for us beginners. I know you said that a year ago and I was wondering if you still feel this way.
Cassiy. If i may. Can you do a demonstration video on what to do when a personalisation order comes in?. My store less than 10 days old. I am strapped for cash also. So i would appreciate some tips for that where mockups are comcerned. And thirdly, can u do a demonsteation on how to do the two shirt design on canva? (Add whether there is another design app that can be used!) How does one get that done on printify? Will they just print both shirts as is on your mockup?
I started Feb 2023 last year and as of today I have almost 430 in sales with 0 design experience, just a lot of youtube video tutorials, and chose a specific niche (rave clothing). It's really not too late and anyone can learn to do it! Once you start to have a grasp of it it becomes clockwork.
Hi Chris I am so happy for you. I am also looking to open my jewellery business, not sure how to go about, whether to have stock in hand or made to order? Any advise please 😊. Many thanks!
That’s inspiring. I’m just starting having a brainstorm ideas about what kind of business I want to start. And tshirts is the one that I want: having tshirts on the market that I would certainly buy.
As a shopper, I absolutely HATE the loss leader strategy. Nothing makes me click off of a listing faster than clicking on a T-shirt for $9.75 and finding out that it's for a baby onesie or an XXS shirt that's out of stock and the T-shirt I wanted is actually $30. I'd rather pricing be honest even if it's higher. Maybe make basic white $1 or $2 cheaper, but making it a MASSIVE difference looks really shady.
I totally agree, and as a seller I'm kind of stuck here. The baby onesie or laptop sticker trick gets a seller's listings in front of customers, fast. Pricing my items fairly always seems to put them on page 3 or further of search results, where no one is going to ever see them. As a newer seller, I wish we didn't have to try to trick the system just to keep up with others who are tricking the system.
My dog's name is Ziggy! He and I found each other the month before that pandemic. He's so sweet and smart, and we have the greatest bond. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us Cassiy! It is incredible!
I dont currently have pets but I do feed a stray mama cat & her 4 kittens regularly. The kittens are too skittish to come in but they occasionally sleep in our barn when it's cold.
I just watched your latest video tuning into you channel for the first time. You are so genuine and your video is very helpful. My pets are Charlie our B/W rescue cat the rescue named him we never changed it… Patches our Aussie pups…. Scootchie the cat is a refugee inherited from my in-laws, and he’s about as friendly as my in-laws 😩… then we have Lemon and Pumpkin our leopard geckos 🦎 and Monty Cinnamon and Biscuits our crested geckos 🦎 ….. you asked, haha
Definitely watched to the end, but I don't have any pets! Not only did I watch to the end, it was second time to watch, but this time I literally took notes! Love your videos, and thank you for taking the time to make them....they help me and I know they help others!
Great information as always. We have two cats, Maxwell and Snickers. We adopted Maxwell from a shelter 7 years ago. Snickers was picked up in our neighbor's yard a year ago. It was 15 degrees, and he was only 6 weeks old, cold, abandoned and scared. He is now a big healthy tabby boy who reminds us of a snickers bar, hence the name.
Our Mini Schnauzer is named “Goji” - like goji berries from China. His sister lives across the hall in the same apartment building and is named “Goya”. 🥰 Our little guy was born with Congenital Myotonia which affects his muscles. If you’ve heard of “fainting goats” it is the same genetic mutation. I tried starting an Etsy store about a year ago. Living in Portugal I felt overwhelmed trying to figure out how to get a US phone number to run my Etsy business from overseas. I gave up despite being a very good designer. Just came across you in my feed - we really could use a second income stream for travel and investing - so glad I found you again, Cassiy!
Great video! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience. I think the problem with probably the majority of people setting up any kind of business is that the have read far too many of these "clickbait" headline RU-vid videos where people shout about these ridiculous claims to have made huge sums of money literally overnight, but you just have to be realistic. From my understanding if you start a new store on Etsy and add some stock to your shop like anything on the internet it takes time for Google and the "algorythm" to find and trust you, this can takes weeks even months? So to expect any kind of overnight success is not realistic.
I live with 9 dogs and 19 farm cats, and I'm working on POD to give them all a better life. Here are some names: Samson, Bella, Ginger, Roxy, Max, Bucky, Badger, Lucy, Lenny ( the dogs), Malia, Chammy, Anthony, Junior, Spot, Clownface, Chewbacca, Ernie, Willis, MC Kitty, Blossom, Davis, Kimmy, Hagar, Morris, Klaus, Mary Kate, Ethyl, Petunia, (the cats), plus assorted poultry, sheep, a mini pig named Mushu, and a horse named Feather. Thanks for the video, you're helping more lives than you realize.
Wait what is a farm cat? Were they being raised to be slaughtered for meat like most farm animals and you rescued them from that fate? I have never heard this term farm cat.
What a great overview! You packed so much gold into such a short video. I'm so glad I've had your help to help my etsy shop grow! The course has been such a gamechanger. I stayed till the end and saw the mystery question! I don't have any pets but your pet pics were so cute.
Cassiy, you have definitely inspired me! I'm in the beginning stages of setting up shop, and could not be happier to have found your channel! I've watched many, many, maaany Esty consultants on YT promising the moon and stars if you purchase their course, but I never really bought into any of it until I stumbled onto you. You're the first one I truly believe. The way you present is very approachable and your business plan feels achievable - if someone is willing to put in the work. Unfortunately I'm not in the position to purchase your course at the moment, but I will not forget that it is available. I have gone ahead and bought your Income & Expense Report and the POD Calendar and I nearly choked on my coffee! LOL They are so thorough and informative! I will definitely be following your calendar schedule with my new shop. To anyone reading this comment - just buy them. You're welcome.
Great advice as always. I would add to the Optimizing For Click principle to use that Adjust Thumbnail function in your listing and zoom in just right on the thumbnail photo to maximize viewability of your design as potential buyers are scrolling. If the thumbnail photo is just the full mockup photo your design can get lost on tiny image photo and not stand out as much (this coming from someone who has yet to make a sale but I thought I would add :-).
Definitely great addition! There are so many tiny things to learn and I couldn’t fit them all in but yes zooming in enough that you can read the design better but still far out enough that you can see the cute mock-up too!!
That is great info @thegatheredgoods. Thanks for sharing that...and I'm glad I'm someone who likes to read other people's comments under videos. Both for comic relief and info.😁
Thank you for the video…great content as always! My wife and I currently do not have any pets, but when we did, we had two dogs - brother and sister - whose names were Dakota and Cheyenne.
Hi Cassiy ive seen a lot of videos but with yours i feel confident and ready to open my shop! Thank you for all the time and work you put on your videos for us beginners. Means a lot ❤
Lol! "Leaf, Pancakes, Pickles...that is golden. I love pets but I do not have any. Thanks for sharing this information. I started an Etsy shop May 2023 and sold NOTHING with 100% profit. This is a new year and I've decided that I will put more effort into my shop. The info you shared is very helpful.
Our dogs name is Domino. He is a black and white dog that was adopted from the animal shelter when my family had trauma with my sister and my nephew needed a companion in the house.
I love your videos, you are the reason I'm doing ETSY POD! Cute pets: Our black and white spotted Corgi is named "Cozzy" ( short for Cozumel), our brown dachshund is named "Skippy" and our sweet tri-colored King Charles Cavalier is named "Kiara"
Amazing content Cassiy! Im trying to build out my own Etsy RU-vid giving tips and my journey on Etsy, your channel is a massive inspiration to me so thank you and keep going, you should be so proud.
My doggies name is Finn. I love your videos and appreciate your transparency SO much. My whole obstacle is time to devote to my shop. 😢 today Im listening, learning, and going to work for 2 hrs IN my shop and ON my shop.
I have a Dalmatian her name is Billo & 2 x cats called Khan (19.5yrs old) & Sooty (16yrs old). I love Golden Retrievers such a beautiful breed 🐶🥰 Thank you for all your content. I love your calmness and wisdom throughout your videos. It instills confidence in me that I can also be successful with Etsy 😊
I started my store about 10 days ago. I’ve only sold to family and friends so far with 7 sales total. But I have a total of 31 listings with new listings going up daily. I’m patiently waiting for my first sell from an unknown customer. Wish me luck!
We are crazy for whippets! Now snoozing in my living room with me are: Mercy, Jasmine, Moki, Beacon, Flora, Cassie, Linc, and baby Daisy, listed by age from 11 years down to 7 months. :-) Yes, that's a lot of dogs, but we had 8 children, and let me tell you, this is WAY easier to manage! I'm enjoying your videos and learning so much from your insight and experience. Thanks!
"Just remember it is not a race.. and its normal to not be good at it right from the beggining.." Thanks that was needed to be heard at this time, glad I passed by. :)
Thank you SO much, Cassiy! I've had a handmade store on Etsy for years now but am starting POD because producing items is holding me back. Your information has been quite helpful and I loved seeing Jack in the video I watched earlier. (Our kitties are Mud, Kip, Guinevere and Zelda.) I'm looking forward to more of your videos!
Hi Cassey, I really love your videos. My dog's name is Simba :) I opened my store 4 months ago and I have 11 sales. I often fall into despair. I get excited again when I watch your videos.I'm so glad to have you
My family has a family of cute cats! Our momma cat had kittens back on Oct 14, 2023 and we named one of them Eclipse as the annular solar eclipse happened that day! Thank you for your highly informative videos! I just launched my etsy store a few days ago. Haven't gotten any sales yet, but am motivated to keep working at it for the long haul. I don't have any personalized designs posted yet, but that will definitely be my next step.
We adopted a dog and named her Mayci. She turned out to be pregnant. She had three puppies and we named them Joey, Rachel and Phoebe. 😊 We kept Rachel. Joey and Phoebe were adopted by family and got to keep their names. 😊
Thanks Cassiy! I’m new to Etsy and posted my first set of Valentines Day listings (late, I know!), so I’ll have to learn how to add a sale to one of them. My cats are named PattyCake and Muffin 🥰
Love the names! I think now would be a good time to start testing designs and adding value for St.Patricks day listings as you still have plenty of time to get listings up and selling for that holiday as well! Valentines day shopping will be over in the next week to 2 weeks so feel free to post a few things and see if you get sales right away but I wouldn't spend tons of time on it if that makes sense!
Thank you for this great content. I always find helpful nuggets of information as a beginner Etsy store owner. I have a sweet little black cat named Luna.
i just learned that Etsy (whose whole thing is shipping items to your buyers via PODs) does NOT have the capacity to offer the different shipping rates from the variants in Printify. They give you 'work arounds'. I am curious how you handle this. I created a blanket and now I find out I should either do a separate listing for each size or change pricing to capture the loss on the larger blankets; and my customer that buys the smaller one is paying the shipping for the medium one and my customer who buys the largest one is paying for the medium shipping rate! I am honestly gobsmacked. Thank you.
Hello!! Learned so much from you!! We have 3 dogs right now lol Marlie (pit) Archie (border collie ) Big Al (he's an Anatolian shepherd mix) and our 2 tabby cats Rex and Milton (Rex is on the mend after he was attacked by a neighbor dog in Dec and had surgery) !! Thanks as ALWAYS!!!
So glad to hear your doggo is on the mend, that must have been so scary!! I'm glad that I'm not the only crazy with so many animals LOL It's a zoo but such a cute one
Great overview! You hit all the points. I’ve waited over a year to start a store but watch POD videos from time to time. This video is such a perfect step by step to get going. I’m starting my store this week! Is there a way to design on my phone?
Hello Cassiy, I have purchased your complete package of mockups, they are all very cute, I would like you to also add tote bags and mugs, that would be great.😊 Thank you.
I'm thinking of starting a new store. I'm curious 1. How do you handle refunds? 2. Do you usually keep a store focused on one niche / product type? I ideally want one store to sell everything but i feel like it might not look great to customers. Mugs, t - shirts etc
I have 2 golden retrievers!! Winston and Ava. We have 3 cats too, brother and sister George and Baby Girl. And a calico, Kali. Thanks for your videos, they have been extremely helpful.
I started in May and am just about at 400 sales 👍😊 and usually about 2 sales everyday. i kind of plateaued recently but I delivered my 4th baby in October and didnt upload andything new for a while, since I have 4 kids under 5 years old. Also for reference I have 300 listings. Definitely props go ti you, C U Online, SimplyShawna, HeatherStudio, and a few others.
Trevor, Cooper and Murphy! 🐶 🐕 🐩 As always, your video is full of helpful information that works IF you implement it 😉. Thank you so much for your time and dedication. We appreciate you.
My granddog is named Cynnamon! She's a chaweenie! I love your videos. I'm just getting started. Less than a month but your videos are helpful. Thank you.
Everyone is going to be held under this same rule, and this only applies to US orders, so you would just charge less than $6 for shipping and include more of the cost of the shipping into the item price instead, no big deal honestly! And I wouldn't say that most POD products have more than $6 shipping
Thank you for this video. My pets are Pippin (dog) and Bagheera (cat) and lately I’ve been taking care of a stray. I named him Winter. I am determined to find him a forever home. ❤️
I love your videos and appreciate all you put into them! I plan to open my store in the next month & your content has been priceless for helping get this far. Thank you! No pets now but my favorite pet was a Lab/Husky/Chow named Bogey🐶 Looking forward to your next video!❤
I don’t know what the trick is really. I open a store over a year ago. ZERO sales so far. I search and research all videos here about elsy selling, strategies, niches and nothing works for me. I din’ know if you have to saturate the page with thousands of listings in order to start selling. It’s really sad because I actually do design my own clothing and would love to see my store grow.
Have you ever seen the channel "Baddie in Business"? She made a social media for her husky and literally makes I think 20k-50k per month making content about him!! It's wild LOL @@moonbootsally
Thanks Cassiy for another great video. I need to get started on Etsy!! My Cat's name is Kitty... very original I know. My Beautiful Little girl Sally (never actually thought of herself as a dog) who's in Heaven now. Tiny in size but a huge heart
Bernie, Abby, and Frida, chihuahua mixes. I'm learning so much from you! I'm also buying your full shop mockups. I think you have the best sleeve print mock-ups.
I don’t have any pets currently… But I did have a couple dogs that were the last pets I had and my friend still has them to this day because she had more space and a fenced in backyard, that I didn’t at the time have several years back… But they were golden retriever/husky mixes, and their names were Hope and Faith. Anyway…Thanks for sharing all your tips. I’ve been trying to “do research “watching a bunch of different content creators and the tips and tricks that they have to offer before I actually dive into the print on demand space fully…But I think the next thing I’m going to go with, is learning different programs through skill share in hopes that it helps make me better at doing like graphic designs and illustrations for T-shirts and cups and all this other stuff that’s good for print on demand items. I do love knowing all about the copyright stuff though and stuff to avoid and things to do and so I like to watch different videos after I get off of my regular 9 to 5 so that I can build all this useful info in a journal before I try to take off with my business. I know I could probably just go ham, and hope that something happens randomly by throwing together 100+listings… But I would rather be a little bit more informed and prepared…since it’s not like an absolute dire emergency to get it going. I’d rather spend the next month or two researching before I just go completely in on it with zero clue. I want to be informed and have education so that I’m not flying blindly and that my products are quality items.
Thanks for more great content. I am learning so much from your videos! It’s so encouraging to know a new store brought in revenue so quickly in 2023. Can you share a bit more detail on how long the store was open? Those end of year stats were great to see! I just wondered how long you were building that momentum? Jan - Dec? How long until the store became profitable? I am assuming the $13,593 profit was cumulative profit from all months. So excited to see more! Thanks again!!
It the personalized order tutorial in the description, here's the link! Personalized Orders Tutorial Video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zfUQpqITuPE.htmlsi=ulrBIHc-JCCN_c02
Hi Cassiy..I have a few hundred designs all good to go, the only thing holding me back is the fact that I need to have the cash in my printify account for when a tshirt goes into production...In an ideal world it would be great if etsy gave you the cash for the sale of a tshirt within 24hrs then the money would be there for printify..Its just having the money there thats holding me back...
Hello! I’ve been watching your videos for months now, along with just a couple of other RU-vid channels. I have many designs and ideas, but haven’t listed anything just yet. Like so many others, I’m afraid to make a move due to conflicting advice. Did you purchase any samples before listing your products? I’ve been in sales for years, and quality products and service are extremely important to me. Thank you very much for putting yourself out there to help others, I so appreciate it! Ellen
I didn't purchase any samples before getting started but you totally can if it will make you more comfortable! I get being nervous to get started but honestly my best advice is to just open your shop and list one thing. Action is always the best cure for indecision, just starting learning, practicing and trying new things and it will all start to feel a lot less overwhelming in no time!
Love this video! Full of great advice! I can't wait to one day post my high profits! Miesha is my little shih-tzu's name. I loved watching until the end! Thanks again for all your videos!
Ella is my coworker. I have noticed recently that Etsy is automatically filtering for free shipping when I log on. This seems to have happened when they announced the new Gift roll-out. I have been the sales dumpster for the last two weeks, so I am trying free shipping to see if that helps.
My pet is a big Airedale Terrier. He's a talented pickpocket! (And no, I did not teach him.) So his nickname is "The Thief in Chief", or just "Thief" for short.
My pet's name is Spotticus, he's full of spots, dots, swirls, stripes and patches. He also acts like Sparticus, full of intense energy! :D Thanks for your videos!
