I Built an A-Frame Cabin in The Sims 4 

I love the fact that the title doesn't say 'I tried', but 'I built', that's the confidence we love to see✨

I really love that Kayla didn’t limit herself too much on packs in this build. It was so cool to see new items being used. I don’t have many packs so it was neat to see stuff that I don’t have!

Doing homework that’s due tomorrow < watching Kayla build a cabin in the sims

The fact that she went on a whole rant about a computer with a window view and then places it against the wall 😔

its really exciting seeing Kayla go out of her comfort zone. just to clarify, this isn't meant to be rude, I love everything that she builds, but it made me really happy seeing her get excited about the bedroom when building it

this is really one of the best sims builds i've ever seen, i loved it... also i love seeing simsie using her full potential with no packs and budget limitation

I love these videos where your not worried of money or pack count. Your just building what you find fun💕 I think a lot of would love a sort of “free Friday” or “fun Friday” where you just build what ever you want no pack restrictions/money restrictions and even.... CC?

the fact that i was watching those videos of triangle houses on a budget and then i come to this 😭✋

I did an A-frame house once it was like 8x12 squares, It had a nice large sitting room to the back with a big window and door surface out to a terrace, o the side was the entrance in a little outlet extension of the roof to give it a little hallway to change shoes and keep the cold outside, to the front there was a 2x4 Bathroom as stairs I used some spiral staircase, there was a 4x4 Kitchen (my personal minimum) and a dining area which was about 4x4 aswell with a small side balcony to the side (across from the entrance) and then on the loft floor, I didn't put a full floor front to back wall, but 2/3, so on the back end you have a banister and can look down into the living room and through the big glass surface on the backside aswell, so lots of light coming in and you can look out into nature and it is still a true loft character.

Is it just my dirty mind or did anyone else finish this sentence in your head after she talked about the woohoo bushes. “ You can fish, you light fires, you can....pee in bushes”

Kayla should do a playlist of her living in this house using the rags to riches challenge if you don't understand: Kayla starts off with nothing but a tree and builds up to have a big treehouse. she has to do dumpster diving to get money, knowing it's her favorite strategy. use the things that you get from the dumpster and if they don't work for off the grid, at least you get some money for it. also, this has to be on a short life span, making your sims have a child so if your sim dies you have another person to work with. it has to be off the grid making it much more difficult, the point is to go from rags to riches. I suggest Kayla makes a let's play and goes from a bad treehouse to an amazing treehouse. this seems like an absolute challenge but I know you enjoy a challenge and the rags to riches challenge, so you should enjoy this. do this for the fans, WE LOVE YOU AND YOUR BUILDS KAYLA!!!

The textures in the Island Living pack is my go-to for building cabins. I love either building dark modern lofts or mountain cabins 🖤 Also, you gotta double the size of A-frames to keep things closer to scale from that 2-3 square wide wall (with the windows in the loft) 👀

"I wanted it to be warmer" I think the house feels cold because you've used a lot of cool colours, and there's not a lot of colour variation. In the reference picture the door and railings are a lighter, warmer wood, and even the stone seems to have more yellow undertones, along with the red flowers. The contrast of the black house works really well. But your house was almost entirely blacks and cool greys, and you only really used green landscaping. Part of why the bedroom felt cozy was because you chose warm yellow lighting. If you want it to feel warmer then you might want to use less cool colours and lighter wood swatches (if there are any that look okay). Personally I also think clutter items help the feel of a build, but that's very much a me thing. IDK, I'm of course no expert and I really like your build, these are just my thoughts on the feel of it specifically

All I could think of when she was doing the living room was that I’m way more likely to trip over a coffee table then a couch.

My favorite thing is when Kayla rotates her mailboxes. Like could you imagine being a mailman trying to put mail in there. Good thing this is the sims 4 haha

You can do the roof part open! Just make the roof one tile and drag the overhang over the middle!

Challenge idea, build a lot with diffrent houses shaped as the letters in your name. ex: My name is Alice so the first house would be a A-Framed house and then a L and a I and so on.

Your builds looks so much better when you don't limit yourself to the base game.

VID IDEA!!! So what if you did a 'friends choose my sims build challenge.' So some of your friends choose different parts of your build - like colour schemes, packs, style etc. idk I think it would be fun

New Challenge: Make a totally new building, any style, from the Del Sol Valley museum. The catch: it operates the same as a shell challenge, so you can’t change the shape, only decorate to try and make something new from it.

I personally feel that A-frame houses houses would make pretty good budget friendly starter homes for The Sims 4. And this has inspired me to build one in my Sims game. Thanks!

i really love your builds. when i'm studying I usually have the tiny home or budget build challenge videos on in the background. i honestly used to spend no time really working on my sims builds but your stuff inspired me to do more building in game and now i find it really really fun :D

There is a way to make the loft space bigger, it just messes with the lighting a bit. Delete the top roof, and then shift click and extend the eave on the bottom roof. It works, the game just thinks the top floor is outside.

This style reminds me of scandinavian architecture. I built a scandanavian cabin earlier today and there were a few houses that looked just like this while I was doing my research.

She was complaining about not being able to paint the underside of the roof, I'm still upset that you can't edit the ceiling colors anymore. So many things I miss from the Sims 3

One thing (of the many) that has always bothered me in Sims 4 is how they put the drawers and doors on the wrong side of the island counters. They should be on the side opposite the counter extension. I've never seen island counters in real life where the doors and drawers were under the extension; that would render the upper drawers entirely useless and the lower cabinets difficult to access.

Simsie I'm begging u to keep using whatever packs you want in your builds. If people are going to download and use the builds, they usually change all the furniture anyways so pls dont limit yourself. Its soooo cool to see new items

You know what you could try if you ever want to??? That thing where you shorten the ends of your eyebrows so they kinda stick out horizontally. We have similar eyebrows and I just did this and I think it would look sick on you!!! You can get it done profesh if you don't usually do it urself. Your brows literally look perfect as they are, i just think that would look really cool!!!
