Nice one Luke. Riding features needs confidence & the chicken bridge was a great idea to help with that. You pretty well cleared it on the 1st go, but it gave you the security of a safe landing. We all have our own self preservation switch in our head that says yes or no. I did a session with a mate on a drop, but it had a small gap to the lander, not big at all, he had done similar drops but the gap was playing on his mind particularly because it was all rock. It was rollable at low speed & could be hit with moderate & faster speed. After countless run ins & tow ins he finally did it, apparently it was easy 🤣🤣🤣.
Cheers Luke! Yeah, it's all a mental game! Especially when I know no one has ever hit the feature before. Like your friend said after you do it you realise how easy it is. The chicken bridge has been a great addition. I'm very pleased I built it. I've had a few friends build up the courage to hit the drop now who wouldn't have done it without at first. Great to see you going back through the videos and enjoying them.
Sick drop! and double sickness I won a T-shirt. I just got back from the property and I will take a look at the email soon. Great stuff and keep up the trail building.
Gutted to miss out on a t, but that new snake t is super fresh, the locals are right, it is super fresh. Feel like Schmick needs it’s own design. Merch store incoming? Favourite shot for me was the draw knife pov.
Ah bummer you missed out on a T, but you are definitely in with a chance to win one of the snake run Ts. Hmmm yeah if enough people are keen to get their hands on a shirt I will open a merch store. Yeah that was one of my favourite shots as well.
I'm glad that you appreciate that. I don't want to pretend that I'm some fearless Pro rider. Just an average slowly progressing on a mountain bike. Cheers
It’s okay to laugh at the drill bit breaking bc we’ve all done it! If anything, the landing could be longer as you’re hitting it perfect. Beautiful build. Stumpy drop is awesome.
Cheers mate. Yeah, when I am feeling more comfortable I could definitely make the gap longer. The speed is there and it should still ride pretty smooth. I'm keen to get cracking on the rest of the trail for now. But maybe I’ll revisit the stump drop in the future for some upgrades.
So many things to say about this video: 1.Awesome Awesome Drop 2. Your edits are so good!! Love it. 3. That draw knife was sic. I need one. 4. So stoked I won a shirt Keep them coming so good bro.
I was really surprised at how easy the draw knife worked. I thought it was going to take a lot longer to strip all the bark. It ise easy if the wood is fresh. Glad you like the video mate, and congrats on winning the shirt. I will be in contact to get your details. Cheers
Nice Drop bridge Luke, looks great and understandingly a little daunting initially, I laughed you made a Chicken Bridge then your first run you didn't even really land on it. I'm sure I'd have had the same hesitation but it appears to ride smooth. Well done Snake Run' is looking great !! Cheers Maca
Haha yeah, I knew I could do it no worries. Its funny how things build up in your head. I'm not complaining, the chicken bridge is a great addition and makes the drop accessible for everyone. It rides very smooth, I'm sure you would be taking the bridge away pretty quickly.
I struggle with mental games when it comes to features. Sometimes it's hard to hit a feature even though you know you have enough skill to do it. The chicken bridge was a great addition. Thanks for watching.
Great drop and landing . The chicken bridge is a good confidence builder . good idea as it is a good size drop . Keep a eye out I am going to release a video on a red belly black encounter in the coming days Love your work
Learning heaps of tech info here, great channel mate. Keep up the awesome content and hopefully one day I'll ride your trails bud. I can't wait for the double black's construction.... ☠SnakePissbolt☠
So epic dude, I love your channel. Just a tip from a builder; you always need at least two screws in each end of a cross brace mate, otherwise they just hinge & move and don’t really do much. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hey, I am building mtb trails in Brazil, getting ideas from Your Chanel , thank You!!. (I think Austrália wins about snakes on the trails vs Brazil) its dangerous building trails around here too, I almost step on a snake and had to brake my bike on last second almost went over a coral snake, but The love for the sport keeps us moving. Cheers!!!!
Mate... The amount of effort going into each episode while mostly working on your own is unreal!! Loved the process of finding logs, de-barking and constructing that ramp. It looks so mint! The chainsaw cam angles were sick and the drone fly over was so nice! Dunno how you manage it in the bush... When you first hit the gap with the chicken ramp on I was certain you cleared it! So good! I 100% would have been the same without the chicken ramp though 🤣 Shirts look unreal! I would be kicked out of the house if I had one though, my wife is petrified of snakes after being bitten by a tiger snake many years back... Looking forward to watching the rest of these over the next few days 😁
Oh wow! I don't think I actually know anyone who has been bitten by a snake before. Thats crazy. I remember building the drop and being super confident the entire time until it was test ride day. And I just couldnt get it out of my head. I am really happy I built the chicken bridge for it though. It's been handy to have in place for friends who aren't ready to hit the drop or as a confidence booster to start clearing it. I actually want to push the landing out a bit further on that drop now because you really do have to slow down a lot to hit it.
@@cutlaps yeah man...quite the story and recovery! Not mine to share on RU-vid comments though! Probably the only well earnt phobia I've heard of 😉 Chicken ramp looks like my style for sure ❤️
Loving the channel mate, your building skills are impressive and get me motivated to pitch in and help my local builders. Great work high quality videos and just real! Good on ya man! Ps- I’d love a shirt!😜
Thanks mate! So much more trail building to learn, but I am loving it. I'm sure your local builders will love the help. It's a lot of hard work maintaing trails. You're in with a chance of winning a shirt 🤞
@@cutlaps Haha I reckon you could be the Steve Irwin or the Honey Badger of MTB!! loving it mate and keen to see the next feature, we need some decent rain up on the Central coast, its getting pretty dusty
@@lukesteele7095 Haha that's some big shoes to fill! Currently editing the latest episode now. It’s been a bit slow because we actually had some rain here. Which I am definitely not complaining about, things were drying out a bit and I am not looking forward to fire season. Hope you guys get some rain up there soon.
@@cutlaps I just hit refresh on my RU-vid home page and I guess their algorithm recognized that I like to watch MTB build videos. Your thumb nail looked interesting so I clicked it and I'm definitely going to check out your other videos and subscribe. Great work!!
I'm sort of late to the party but I love this kind of content. BYTB does it here in America but he's slowing down on video production. Thanks mate. (did I use mate correctly? :) )
Haha yeah you used it correctly! I love Seths channel and it's cool to see him build huge proffesional features now but I do miss his videos. Thanks for watching and it's cool to see all your comments on the videos as you go through them all. Stoked you found the channel.
Thanks Eoin. This is the one I ended up getting www.idealtools.com.au/product/kirschen-250-mm-carpenters-draw-knife-straight-form-4000-250mm-by-kirschen/
YES!!! So glad another video dropped! 😉 Way to push yourself on camera. Fantastic edit, from the design elements to the variety of shots and pacing, this is top notch, your channel is going to gain traction for sure and I hope you start producing content full time because it’s so entertaining. I’m glad you admitted the drill was in reverse, we all do that. Again, I love the GoPro mounted on the tools shots and the drone mixed with map was awesome 👏🏼 Great music too. At one point your audio changed to indoor, maybe record all voiceover outdoor to stay uniform? (I’m no expert). I can’t wait for your next video!
Thanks mate! Such good feedback. And yeah I almost went back and recorded the voice over outside because it sounded so different, but I decided to be lazy and just get the edit out haha. I'll be recording them outside in the future to try and keep it as seamless as possible. Full-time content creator would b amazing! Would love to be able to create videos a lot more regularly. Way too long in between the last two edits.
Thanks mate. Glad you like my channel so far. Thanks for checking out my website haha whoops. I had a crappy temp website that I wasn't happy with so I deleted the whole thing and haven't got round to rebuilding it yet. Shirts are only available as prizes for the channel at the moment, but if enough people are interested in buying one I may have to build that into the new website as well. 🤘🤘
Thanks bud. From the take-off to the lip of the landing it’s about one and a half metres or close to 5 feet. The gap was about 2 metres from memory, maybe a bit more... Need to go back with the measuring tape.
Another epic video as always!👍🎥🔥🎬 Did you just bury a log in the ground to secure the start of the drop? Just wondering for my own backyard trails. Keep up the sick videos!
🤟🤟🤟 this was my first video and build that I was really proud of. Yeah I used just a log. There isn't any sideways motion with this feature so I didn't need to bury vertical supports at the start. Try to make sure it's a solid log and rot resistant wood so it holds up longer.
I'm from the far south coast of NSW in Australia. And all my videos take so long to create that I only have 4 or 5 a year. Which makes it slow to grow subscribers.
Thanks for checking out the channel. As you probably figured out already, I give away a shirt each episode. You just have to have liked and commented on the latest video and be subscribed to the channel to go into the running. Good luck mate!
haha its all a mental game! I am stoked I built it though, it means beginners can have fun and scare themselves just riding down it and slowly build confidence to get a bit of air.
