Also shift click will put the tech block in the tech storage, and alt click will put it all from that inventory into tech storage... if you have the room
Frazzz, I watched you hit something and break your tech. A simple strategy to keep techs away from your area, is to mine everything out. The best way to not break yourself is to mine everything along those paths you use, which will allow you to go maximize speed to get out of trouble or just to quickly move around. With either a bumper or shield on the front, you can ram other techs into rocks to break them. Always have storage for wheels, that way you can immobilize techs from healing, while you heal. After you pop off a wheel or two, quickly pass the damaged tech and swipe his wheels, then you can come back later to finish it off. A mining drill removes the dirt away from objects. Once the dirt is removed, use your tractor beam to move each stone to the refinery. You will get 100% product return, plus gold. The cold areas have powerful techs, so armor, heater, and strong weapons are required. You can take other tech yards by shutting off the fist power units. By shooting out their floors, the units collapse into boxes that you can mine instead of destroying. To gather these bases, merely remove the supports and the entire thing collapses into boxes that you run over to collect. Push the rest off the side of the mountain, on the side where your base is at, to make it faster to gather them later. You can stack what you don't use, so you can keep them for later use or you can refine them back to their basic metals, when time permits.
One of the best base items in the game is the Scrapper, take all of the extra Tech pieces and scrap them up. You will get some basic ore, and some refined ore, it just depends on the parts. I scrap a lot of wheels, basic wheels give you Carbon and Iron, Small Shifted wheels give you Carbon and Refined Iron, and Medium wheels will give you all Refined Iron, Aluminum, and Carbon I think.
Another thing I've noticed, how many wheels you have depends on how much you can carry. If you only have 4 wheels and overload it with armor plates you will hear it groaning, if you add 2 more wheels on it helps a lot.
So If you have not found out, or no one has told you yet. You can destroy those Cylinders with the Skull on top, I think it's a base marker. Use your lasers and guns to destroy it, it takes a lot of ammo. Once you destroy it you can pick up all the base parts around you.
