Any time I need a rock crawler course, I just go to my kids room. There are so many toys and cloths everywhere. It's a very challenging course that changes day to day. 😂🤣

The rock van with LGRP swamp kings, and injora shocks, angled mounting, makes this thing a beast…and looks damn good doin it. Got the blue groovy van with white wheels and swamp kings. Looks proper now, just wish the shocks mounted more standard (not the double ball). Really great little course as well, cheers!

I assume you have metal gears in the transmission. I ran the injora 64mm rock terrains and some brass wheels and in two sessions my gears were gone. Got a little tear down video coming on that soon.

@@JUSTHAVEFUNRC Yes, actually did those before the wheels showed up...never had the chance to strip them. I did however break the little yoke on the output shaft (my fault, heavy and excited throttle finger). Great little rig though.

@@theflyinggrip I ordered the whole transmission. I kinda destroyed the stock on purpose though. Just to see what it can take and so I can tear it down and maybe make it educational or something like that.

This is an excellent review. I have seen a lot of positive things about the Rock Van. You're idea with the cardboard crawler course is great. When it's all done it goes out to the recycling bin. A great idea for Christmas. Keep up the good work.

Great review again 6ixer looks exactly same as FMS atlas's 6x6. Even rear cage looks pretty similar. Can tilts as well with magnets.

Thats a summer school-holiday activity I would have remembered as a kid, if ever I saw one. So much you can learn about power, speed, finesse, weight distribution, testing through iterations and iomprovements as you build it then there's hours of enjoyment once it's made. Great idea, cracking vid. Im not even into crawlers but this looks like the van I used to always use in Rocket League. Gotta justify these thigs to ourselves somehow! Good luck in the new abode. Well deserved.

7:33 "who would have thought cardboard could be such fun" you're obviously younger and were richer than I. We LOVED when someone on our street got new appliances! CARDBOARD! We made forts and carts and sleds out of it and slid down the grassy hill at the end of the street. We used that until it rained and they turned to mush. We'd pin 2 big boxes together via the flaps with twigs..... In one of my previous jobs I was a site manager for a condo building being developed. We'd get the appliances in by floor so we'd get 11 units each with stove, fridge, dishwasher, washer/ dryer, the front of the building was a sea of cardboard and I thought "back in my day that'd be a once in a lifetime happening". That would have kept us busy all freaking summer if it didn't rain or the big kids didn't find our fort and destroy it.

Rock Van and Mog still my favorite crawlers now ! I play several weeks playing in the rocky brooks but the plastic gears in the centerbox breaks but upgraded with metal gears from Fair RC! Thats some real 4x4 "submarines".There also selled from Absima. Spareparts are no problem.

Thank you for showing off this van! This is a perfect entry crawler. Its oly 115 bucks too! Which is pretty cheap for this quality of almost toy grade crawler. Plus i love the hippie bus look! I might pick one of these up as i have been looking into crawling but dont really want/need another rc....(space is my issue now)

@@dankforest it's definitely done to a price, add a licenced body and price with go up significantly. I would love to see some box stock head to head between popular models. I know it's hard for RU-vidrs to do as most do it on their own and it would take longer to do

@@Luke-en2tk I don’t have a head to head but I’ve had scx24 jlu and gladiator, fcx24 power wagon, and trx4m and stock for stock this will outcrawl them all. And it will outcrawl a lot of built up ones too with a few mods. Excluding those super expensive lcg chassis trucks and low profile not even a truck anymore rigs.

The unitrak and rock van is a rebadged hobby plus cr18p and the sixer is a fms atlas with a different body.

Tomley great video! I’m not a fan of lights on rc cars full stop honestly can’t see the point other than for selling points but if you have them have turn signal also. The rock can is ace I’ve always wanted a Tamiya midnight pumpkin I just love retro vehicles. I’m looking to do a Tamiya speed run buggy which is best? I wanna get tt01b but I don’t think they have metal gears or gear boxes . Any suggestions? Also if you have time I’m building my wltoys 019 for a speed run car bit some of the threads are stripping any ideas for a cheap and quick fix? If you wanna selll your speed run 019 I’m more than interested

The 6x6 looks to be an exact copy of the fms atlas, I wonder if it will have the same issue in the diffs or if ftx fixed that.

Hey it’s the hobbyplus rockvan. Quick question… Is hobbyplus not available in the UK or does this have any upgrades over the hobbyplus? Or is it just a rebrand? Regardless I love my rockvan. Just be sure to grab the metal gears for the transmission and take it easy on the Philips head screws. Some of mine were almost glued into place.
