Absolutely loving this, but here’s some constructive criticism. Levels 2 and 3 need some sort of tension besides “hold a lantern or you will die.” It doesn’t necessarily have to be an entity, but each level needs to have a unique challenge to them.
Smilers should kill the player if not watched. like they could slowly approach the player when not watched and kill him when close enough level 3 could have another monster lurking, maybe more verticality, and some places with no lights (btw he should remove "darkeness cosumes you" in lvl 3)
@@Scatifyyy there isn’t even 3999 levels lol the level cap on the fandom is 1000 so is the wiki and they haven’t even filled all of that yet people just call it 3999 but it was changed to 399
@@SpacePotatoee I'm pretty sure the mod code is interacting with the Iris Shaders mod The iris mod is open source so it's easy to look at the code and communicate with it between other mods It probably runs a check to see if you've entered the dimension and then runs a function to turn on the shader

i know an entity in level 3 i made this up called hands where you could find dark waters that look forever and if you go in hands will drag you down and suffocate you

I have an idea for a Poolrooms entity. It would be some sort of mermaid or something that would follow you around until you get to deeper waters. When you get to the deeper pools, the mermaid will attack you. Just a rough idea tho.
The poolrooms are safe, if you didn’t know, I don’t hate the idea of a mermaid entity, but for that to be in the game, he’ll have to make the Subrooms.
so if you plan on releasing this, i will assume your gonna add more levels in the future to keep it up to standards, so if you want some level ideas, some popular levels like level run for your life and level fun are absolutely needed. especially run for your life, because i have not seen it in any mod, and i get that it might be hard to code because of how the level should only have 1 person at a time, and always reset so here is my idea's, but keep in mind that i have no modding experience aside from playing different mods, but i am basing this mostly from other mods so i know its possible if others have done it before, so basically instead of making the level reset, make it generate as multiple unconnected and repeated hallways like the actual level is, repeating the same geometry from the beginning to the end, now this next part i have not seen before but i would imagine its doable since its not that hard of a concept to grasp, basically every time the level is entered, make it put players into a hallway that has not been used yet, this is because the chase will have to begin every time the player spawns in, give players like a 3 seconds head start before the entities spawn in also make sure that the entities are fast enough to not loose track of the player, make their aggro range enough to never stop chasing the player until they escape
Looks Good! Though i think instead of you just dying without the lantern there should be posible to walk in the dark without a lantern, but it makes it more difficult (and possibly more scary)
this looks awesome. however a few notes: first your level 1 is technically called level 0. also level 1 (in yours level 2) is actually a parking garage not a level 0 replica. also if you want a entity for the poolrooms maybe try Hydrolitis plague. granted it would likely have to be a different water block or something or maybe try clumps for the pool rooms as they do spawn there.
to the poolroms monster you could have just added bubbly footstep particles and footstep sounds in the water slowing and speeding up chasing you the monster would be also invisible
The smilers are attractive to light so make the smilers move closer to you and make it so they can attack you. Give them a body and when you’re killed by the smiler or any other entity they will jump scare the screen. Also keep the poolrooms safe with no entity’s but make a darker version of the pool rooms with an entity in it that can kill you. Love the video ❤

As a huge backrooms fan watching this i think this could be a really good mod! you should keep it up and i would suggest adding more levels a really cool but almost impossible one would be level 94!btw i would make the backrooms a separate dimension in the game
I REALLY wanted to add level 94 in this video tbh. With enough time I may be able to get it to work. The separate dimension is definitely a good idea too.

In my opinion, the best backrooms mod should be one with lore accurate stuff from the wikidot or the wiki, not kane pixels stuff. Anyways, awesome mod youve worked on, cant wait to see more

I don't exactly remember the algorithm, but you could create a custom world generator and make a dimension for each level, it would make things less repetitive overall and add a way to remember landmarks you explored already based off the generation of the walls. Edit: This way you could also create specific structures too
You add the ability for people to "submit" rooms and you'll be golden! You should totally reference SCP-087-B for ways to expand level 2's entities. Giving them small sfx would be a nice touch and maybe even adding the Red Guy.

How the heck do you have just 2k subs?!Well anyways the mod seems great and stuff, but here and there there could be some additions, like in level 2 and 3 there should be some tention building stuff, Like yea level 2 has the smilers and stuff but level 3 doesnt have anything. also make some variations for the entity in the first level, variation is always neat. For the poolrooms you could make it that the exit needs like a diving suit to even be able to exit the poolrooms, but then you would have to make the exit something where you need to swim. Anyways great video, editing was on top. Did not expect this quality for such an unkown ytber. You definetely won a sub here!
You should really make a few more chasing enemies. Some closets you can hide in. And figure out if you are able to automatically generate this under bedrock so that way people can load this mod into their world and it loads under bedrock as if it is hell. Or in the nether maybe. Somewhere so if you dig too far and drop in you are stuck until you find your way out.
You could have an invisible monster in the pool rooms and they make noise when walking in the water. (Also, I like this so far, I really want to see this expanded)
It's scary in a different way when there aren't monsters, that's what liminal spaces (and the original version of the backrooms lore) are for. The best Backrooms games that I've seen don't have monsters in them but that doesn't mean adding monsters is a bad thing.
for the second level you need to have the smilers have some kind of an offensive ability or attack. The pool rooms it could be some kind of a sea creature abomination. Also more than 1 entity per level is welcome.
I think this mod will be 1000 times better if you add smbience imo. Edit: having a puzzle in the pools would also be nice to keep the flow of pregression
The Backrooms on VRChat feels sooooo much worse on the Darkrooms level, I have trauma 😭 A bit of advice, they also made a bunch of challenges to that level, and if you fail, you get jumpscared, and the entities surround and kill you Challenges such as: following a blinking light through darkness, and missing the spotlight/you touching the darkness makes them come kill you, it’s kinda like the floor is lava except the lava is the darkness
This is a great mod! However, you are following the Kane pixels lore, when there is a different one that is more accurate. There is no correct lore, but if you plan to ever do it again, can you try using the lore from the wiki dot and a bit of the fandom? That would be really cool! Btw smilers are attracted to light. And you got the pool rooms spot on!
this is really cool and i think thats legitimately the best backrooms mod, but adding monsters was so lame and turns an interesting concept into another skibidi toilet thing
On the one hand, I feel you, since a big part of the horror of the Backrooms is isolation and starvation, but the thing is I don't think that you could make a true-to-myth Backrooms mod that captures that feeling, and since Minecraft is primarily a survival game I feel like entities make sense. I do wish he'd added almond water since it's such a big thing in the lore, but ig if I want almond water so bad I should code my own mod
@@lordeshadowz "true-to-myth Backrooms" ? Poolrooms is level 37, level 2 is Pipe Dreams, and “Level 1” is actually “Level 0” (nicknamed “The Lobby”) and level 1 is known as “The Habitable Zone". This is not a mod recreating the backrooms in MineCraft, but a mod freely using backrooms as a base to make a spooky thing. Not hating on it, tho, just saying.
I think implementing the ambient sound to the actual seperate levels would be cool, also sound physics(mod) could make this even cooler in the poolrooms level to add some echs&etc..
honestly this is probably the best thing i’ve seen come from the backrooms craze of 2022 but ngl i wish there was some threat in layer 2, like maybe there’s a mob that comes at you but he looks like one of the smaller white-eyed creatures, and he has the same AI as the bitey-scratchikins from layer 1

While this is rlly good, as a backrooms lover, there is such a thing as the 'accurate' backrooms. Yes, for those who wonder, backrooms isnt just a random creepypasta, its a bit more than that, with i guess what u may call 'canon' entites and levels.
