In Germany you can make a 3 year timelapse video of getting a planning permission.

This was awesome to watch. My Dad and I built a house together 4 hours away from where we lived. We worked every weekend for almost 3.5 years. Sadly right about the time we finished, he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and passed away 7 months later. Your video reminded me of one of the best times I ever had with my Dad. Thanks for sharing your journey.

The video says he built the house by himself, but clearly his dog Rueger was there with him for moral support the whole time.

I’m now living in the second home I built myself. Like him I finished both debt free and there is no other feeling like sitting in your home and knowing you built it all yourself.

In an age when most men haven't even built a shed, this man charged forward and built his entire house and everything necessary to support it...as someone who has merely renovated many of my own homes, I admire and respect your accomplishments. There is nothing like working with your hands and saying "I built that".

This embodies what a man should strive to be imo and I respect and look up to anyone that’s living like this or making steps toward handling business, taking care of present and future generations of your family, having the for site to plan what it will look like in time and then documenting it all while remaining self aware but still ambitious. Truly well done sir. 🙏🏼🙌🏼

Guy clears a plot, singlehandedly builds an off-grid homestead, installs water and solar power AND, most impressively, never forgot to setup and push record on the video camera. The fact that he built his house by himself is crazy but the more crazy part is he videoed the whole thing adding hours to his work

Imagine, building your own home from scratch, and then living there with your family and loved ones. It has to be the most amazing feeling in the world. The level of happiness and satisfaction it brings is not comparable to anything else, not even money.

I came across this timelapse by accident. Being an avid timelapse fan, I think this is one of the most perfect timelapses I've seen so far. You show the (almost) impossible. Building a house almost on your own. Most respect for you.

This reminds me of my great grandfather, who lived in the north of Sweden, close to the coldest place in sweden. There they only had 3-4 months without snow and the rest was below freezing and they would get towards 3-4m snow each year. In 1930 when he was 18 years he started building his house all alone. He dug the basement by hand in solid rock mountain, he built the house by hand in wood and after about 5 years they could move in. The house is still standing and our relatives still lives in it.

I was thinking as I watched this awesome vid: a lot of people head off to college. Why? Get a great job to get a great home. To go to college, the go into debt. With their great job, they pay down their debt and get a great home. The get more debt. They work for 30 years (at best) to pay everything off. Now, old and tired, they can enjoy their home. In the same time of a university education, this man accomplished all of that, for a fraction of the cost, with myriad lessons, strengthening experiences and sources of pride in oneself to accompany the prize. I'd say this man just gave us the ultimate "life hack."

This video popped up for me to watch (again). I remember finding your channel when the house was just the original slab. Have been an avid viewer ever since. What you've accomplished is definitely something to be very proud of. Many people dream of what they would like to do and very few actually do it. There are paths other than working for someone and taking out a mortgage for 30 years. The thing I think you've also done for your viewers is give them an alternative path in life that doesn't follow what the masses do. I myself met a few people in life that had I not I wouldn't have made the good choices that today make life a lot easier.
