The katana is amazing. I have the head as well and thought that back when I bought it, it was a huge mistake due to sound issues I was facing but then I discovered the boss tone studios and the upgraded firmware to the head and I can now say I'm very happy with what I have

Im considering the 100w head can you kind of explain what issue you had or if it was something with the mk1? Just to clarify please? I have a blackstar idcore i use at home rn and didnt plan on needing anythimg bigger because i didnt intwnd to really be playing live with drums. I thought about going with a bigger idcore but they all have odd ball speaker sizes (the idcore10 has a 2×3in speaker set where most normal amps around that size would have a single 6 or 8in speaker and it seems like that robs your bottom end) but what issues were you facing and was it just a matter of updating some firmware?

@@randa4382 the feedback was gritty on my end but I think it was just me nitpicking. But I did an update to the firmware of the amp and it sounded better. Go test one and see how you like the sound. It may surprise you

Love my katana head mkii with some time in tone studio, and a few little adjustments on the global eq on the line output I consistently get as good (or often Imo better) tones than my bandmates helix! And having the consistency of the line out tones going to FOH while still getting to have a cab on stage for stage volume makes life so much easier
