At the beginning of 00s, he was close to sign as Boca Juniors manager saying that he can make them champions, but agreement wasn't reached so he never went to Boca. Fun fact, River Plate got relegated in 2011 with him as the club's president.

As an Arsenal fan I disagree about the Fabregas part. Atletico Madrid star João Félix played professionally for Benfica from 2016 to 2019 and then went to La Liga but he made his early formation in FC Porto, where he actually though about quitting football.
