@@MooseTurder Yeah I was thinking something like this though at 50+mbytes it might be hard for people to install with poor signal. It also looks from the reviews like it wants some sort of data connection to work. I've always wondered about these off-road recovery episodes about the human factor. Like many of them must have people that had to be rescued, self-rescue, or had help from other wheelers. And I completely understand why that's not covered in depth for privacy issues. But it was nice to hear Tom make the right call and send the professionals in to rescue especially in that insane heat of Southern Utah.

My guess is that Matt connected the line to the wishbone up front, and one of the dude's there was like "he's gonna rip it off", in Spanish. However, as Matt has shown before on this channel it can be used as a recovery point.

Once TomTom heard the guy was low on water and still not located he made the right call. One thing I learned while visiting Arizona 6 months ago is that you only hike half your water and it was only mid to high 80’s then. Can’t imagine how fast you’ll dehydrate with the current weather in the southwest. Don’t understand why he could talk on the phone but couldn’t give an accurate pin. I’m sure he was a little anxious by the time TomTom was talking to him.

Doug maybe you would consider this suggestion. Why not have 2 black iron pipes (thick wall) that are wider then the trailer, deburred and can store under trailer WITH access from either side (even sitting in a rack at an angle). Then you will have a pry bar / leverage bar and since they are round you can use them as rollers to help with the broken suspensions from dragging on ramps.

@@marvindebot3264 Yup. He was the yard night watchman when Matt bought the tower company. Yard Manager now and still lives on the property moving from his trailer into the apt Matt built for him on the other side of the shop wall.

Yeah, they normally get the cane to hide the smoke alright, but the vibe of the episode made me feel like they couldn't get it to line up with the cigarette right away, and decided to just roll with it. At least, that's what I wanted to think while watching it, lol

You guys could do with a cheap multirotor (drone) in each of the recovery vehicles. We use them all the time over here for finding overgrown tracks or routes. Being able to get an aeriial view makes life much easier and even the cheapest entry level options can fly straight up long enough to get a look around.

I am amazed at what predicaments people put themselves in. A travel trailer on that trail was a no way. People need to research the routes they are thinking about using. Not just drive in and get to a point where they can’t go forwards or backwards. It does create a lot of business for Matt and crew.

My favorite thing about these videos is that someone decided years ago to start a business of helping people get out of jams. And look at how many people have been helped. Matt and his team have literally made a positive impact in the world which is more than most of us can say. I need to figure out a way to do the same some how.
