@@TheThomas041190 I can explain that these people only PRETEND to understand it, but when asked what it means, they will ignore you because they are utterly clueless.
Who are they and what wouldn't they allow? People were already complaining about "PC" years before this came out and yet here it is, hasn't been edited off the DVDs that are still on sale or the repeats on TV. You're just repeating what you've heard other people say.
Only because there are too many idiots around who push their daft political correctness rubbish down everyone’s throats and who have no sense of humour. Sad people.
@@ilovesuisse1 when I read comments like the original one, I actually realize how it is taken for granted, that we are permanently censored and that there is no freedom of speech anymore. I am sick and tired if this bloody dictatorship, and I will laugh about stuff like that, until the day I die. There's nothing racist about it at all, it just underlines various traits of different languages and cultures. Its bloody hilarious and I wish more people would stop to care about the censorship, and stop even mentioning it. Lets all just enjoy some comedy and laugh our arses off, because that's what the world needs right now. On a side note, I really wonder how these actors could manage to not move a muscle, I would have peed my pants laughing sooo hard
nina ninja yes i agree with you, i laugh everytime i watch this. I think a lot of young people today have been brainwashed into stupid political correctness, they don’t know how to laugh anymore, they don’t get a joke, they don’t understand satire, they get too offended too easily about the most idiotic stuff, it’s very sad. People should stop taking themselves too seriously all the time. You are right, we need a good laugh now, i love English comedy the best. If those actors were so offended by this sketch they wouldn’t have agreed to do it, personally i wouldn’t have been able to keep a straight face.
Catherine Tate is a national British treasure... far too underappreciated. She is a scream. Whenever I'm down - all I need is 10 minutes of her nonsense. Where are you Catherine, we want more from you. Miss you.
I love that the man from Africa broke character and started laughing when she said "This is not my sandwich!" I wouldn't have been able to keep a straight face doing this sketch. We'd have been there all day retaking the scene and the director trying to stop me from laughing until I passed out.
totally. this is why i identify so much with CT's i can do that girl. i am so enthusiastic, but have like ZERO talent. the one thing i am really excellent at, like better than 99% of the people who do it, is useless.
@@bradmodd7856 nope no racism here. I think this is more of an illustration on how foreign languages sounds to anyone who's a foreigner to the language.
@@randomuploadsism No it's not xenophobic. It's just the truth, just like Chinese language sounds like a singsong, French [my language] sounds nasal, German sounds angry and high pitched, Russian sounds very romantic [à mon opinion]. This is something everybody notices but everyone is PC nowadays. If something is hysterical to me, I will laugh. What's the harm in that?
@D. I. D No you imbecile, there is no racist (it's actually xenophobic in this instance) intent behind any of this. It's a joke. If you don't like it, you are perfectly entitled to your opinion, but you suffer from the notable disadvantage of being completely idiotic.
@@pauljordan4452 First of all, racism is defined as discrimination with regards to race (e.g. White, black, Asian, Hispanic, etc) - Xenophobia is the word you're looking for. However, in this instance whereby the statements are quite clearly rediculous and therefore jokes, to call it xenophobic (or racist, which is incorrect anyway) is completely wrong and I think that people like you need to come to the realisation that the world, firstly, doesn't revolve around you, and secondly, that the world isn't, and will never be, unicorns and rainbows. Now, people of any race can say things about the whites, but not the other way around. Take BLM as an example, black people are very racist about us whites, but we can't be to them? Don't rant on about equality when we are being treated with inferiority. Furthermore, I know many black people, and am friends with many black people and when speaking to them about all of this politically correct crap because some people can dish stuff out but can't take it, even they said that it's stupid. Yes there should be boundaries, but at the point we're at, where you can abused for merely making a joke, or people bringing jokes up from 15 years ago to hold against people, it's gone too far. Now, as soon as you lefties can get this through your thick skulls, the world will be better.
Well yes she did it in 2006. It didn’t kill her career as she has been active for many years after. Id of thought people would of taken offence to this though..
Catherine did a comedy tour last year in the UK, which she did all her characters from her show in all new sketches, except one - for I Can Do That Woman, they did The Translator sketch! (I've gotten to talk to Catherine on two different occasions - she is incredibly nice in person. She does some great stand-up as well.)
I would be happy to pay her to do that translation thing, complete at the European Parliament. As a British person she could not do anything to embarrass us any more than we already are, she could do the extra ones as well, what would it hurt after the mess our leaders have made of brexit
I got to the boardroom translator bit and couldn't watch any more. Parts of this are not 2021 compliant, funny though CT is in other sketches with more longevity of appeal..
I briefly thought the last one would shake it up and show that she actually rocks the drums. I got no ear for musical timing so I briefly didn't find her fumbling that obvious.
Brilliant but borderline piss take of how too many people from the uk view our European brothers and sisters . Also always say yes but work it out from there
I was just wondering what that line was about the sandwich? Maybe some of you could kindly repeat it several times in the comments sectio.... Oh you already have. How thrilling.
