Y'all crazy, ever tried to play along with a musician playing full speed in a RU-vid video? There is so much logic in being able to manage playback without moving your hands off an instrument. EDIT: For the record I left this comment early in the video so it hadn't occurred to me that Steve would demo this exact point lol. Also I looked at the link and the thing is mega overpriced IMO for its complexity. Agree. There is just as much bad metal as there is bad rap but there's also just as much good rap as there is good metal. At the end of the day it is all subjective though. Those set-in-their-ways people have their opinions and you most likely won't change them. I enjoy crisp and articulate guitar playing just as much as I like sloppy and messy playing, as long as that sound fits in the band's theme. I also enjoy thought-provoking and intellectually driven rap lyrics (Nas, Mos Def, Lupe Fiasco) just as much as I'll indulge in some gang-related pissing contests/hardcore like the coast wars of the 90s.

The actual skill is to speak fast and make the listener decode the lyrics. That's one of the many reasons Eminem is considered to be the best rapper alive. His sixteenths in Godzilla, Lucky You or Rap God sound really clean and in comparison, the guys who only try to speak as fast as possible sound simply ridiculous in my opinion.

He used to be one of the best but unfortunately most of us metal heads never get past the fast stuff Neo soul records like Igor and Circles are some of the best stuff that came out of rap or Hip hop as it’s more accurately known. Run the Jewels have some of the most brutal hardcore hip hop of recent. Go listen to them!

@@tpags7398 Yeah, speed is a bit overrated in my opinion. There are things like polysyllabicity, outstanding flow patterns, clever word plays and a lot more remarkable aspects of rap. Besides metal and rock I personally listen to stuff like NF, Vin Jay, Logic, Jay Samuelz, Eminem, Cryptic Wisdom, Joyner Lucas and a bunch of German rappers but thanks for your recommendations, I'll check it out :)

Twista is still better than Em when it comes to fast rap. Just saying. Edit: Run the Jewels are incredibly dope and El-P is one of the best producers of all time.
