I don't drive, I walk everywhere so I definitely expect to get arrested if I flash oncoming vehicles! 🤣 Gotta love a good cleanup vid, I've seen a lot of stuff ping off your scales over the last few years so this should be interesting! 😃
In the USA that very scenario happened and the person that flashed their lights was ticketed for interfering with police. If I remember correctly the case went to the Supreme Court. It was ruled as a freedom of speech or something and now police can’t do anything about it.
I was coming here to say this, you're correct, its free speech in the US. There was even a case where a guy was so annoyed by a speed trap next to his property he put up a sign warning drivers, and he was covered under free speech. I feel bad for the Britts above saying it's illigal there, that's prob why we left.
It's unaustralian not to flash morning noon or night. When one person flashes you need to dip your lights. If multiple people flash it's because mr sneaky boi is lurking
I had a friend who was a jeweller working for a largish jewellery store. When he was going to get married, he was given permission to keep the gold dust from the clean up at the end of each day that would otherwise have been lost. He was able to make his and his wife's wedding rings, and it cost him nothing except the time to do the cleanup each day and to smelt the gold and fashion the rings.
The exact rules apply here in Canadada. I would suggest putting on your hazards, as that is the sign of road hazard or deer and the likes, and the on coming traffic would slow down. cheers! Kelly
Here in Canada that happens for both reasons. I have to say this. on my way to my place near Quesnel I was stopped by the RCMP. Apparently I forgot to insure my camper trailer. I joked with the officer held out my hands to be cuffed and asked her if I was under arrest for a senior moment. Both of us had a laugh, she said pull over go online and get it insured, I did. Thanks Constable be safe! It could have been an expensive day. My mining season just started, snow on the ground this morning, 20 degrees C later this week and still snow in the hills. I have yet to check my cameras around the house, I have a large boar grizzly that dens up near my house. So you have things that bite and we do to. Your bench is clean man and I can't find shit either, you are not alone! Good luck and thanks.
I seem to remember a car a patio and a weighing room floor coming into these sort of clean upo conversations but I can't remember who's was each one between you, Pauly and Dan.... What I do remember is that they all resulted in more found gold than was expected lol Your paydirt boxes are way more attractive than most of the baggies available from other people... Its a nice touch.
my jewelry teacher rents out his work space. So for $10 an hour you can come in and use his tools (if you're trained) and at one point he was moving stuff around and pointed to a box and said "This is my retirement!!!" and he opened it up and showed these weird colored little metal pucks. And what they were are the melted down sweepings of his shop. See you rent the space but you bring your own materials and when you saw gold or silver or platinum it leaves behind lots of dust and every day he sweeps that up into a can and once it gets so full he melts it down into these little pucks of precious metals. and he had this decent sized box full of these pucks. I have no doubt they will make for a nice little nest egg.
UK perspective here I think at night light flashes tend to mean either you are blinding me or you haven't got your lights on. but if more than one car did it and you knew you lights were on but not on full beam, I'd take as a warning of some hazard ahead, could be a car broken down on a blind bend ahead for all we would know.
Mate you could do a vid on picking up ferns turds in the backyard and I'd be hooked haha. your productions always draw me in, probably why your channel is the only gold hunting channel I actually watch now. Not to mention the vast knowledge you share with us all. I look forward to the next, whatever it may be 💩😂
need you a dust cover to keep it contained lol how much have you swept up? lol that was just off what little was on the bench lol too i see alot of people using to strong of magnet to collect magnetics... cameras are awesome they can see what eyes can not... i use mine all the time as a Jewlers loop it is far better at picking stuff out. black light too.... helps with certain things even the red light spectrum, very reflective.
In Arizona we flash the headlights off and on to warn of danger ahead whether that’s a cop or deer or elk ect on the road ahead. We don’t flash brights to dims because that’s the sign they have their brights on. And if you flash your high beams at someone within 500 feet of you it’s against Arizona law so I’d say flashing high beams to warn someone is wrong turning the lights on and off is the correct warning signal at least over here in the USA. Ya everyone that makes paydirt spills it because once you get used to seeing gold all the time it loses a bit of its perceived value those of us that don’t see gold often are extremely careful with it because we still perceive it as it really is (extremely high valued) thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼
We do this in the Midwest of the states. Do cops try to be mad at you for it yes, is it illegal no. Be kind on the road let others know of issues ahead of them. People have done it for me and I felt very thankful.
Just a suggestion but 2 or 3 of your pay dirt boxes put more in and show u do it and let people know and u will sell them faster or just put something extra in them. That's what Dan heard does.
Get a boot tray to set the boxes and such in so you can just dump it in a pan after. Also in the US cops can pull you over for warning of police ahead. The only time they won't is if there is a traffic stop or accident.
Headlight flashing has been upheld as protected speech In 1999, a New Jersey appellate court held that the act of flashing one's headlights as a warning is a free speech right protected by the First Amendment. In America
It is also illegal here in the US to flash your lights to alert on coming traffic of law enforcement speed traps also. A lot of us still do it. I've also seen many get pulled over for doing so. I used to drive semi cross country, as a little driving back ground.
😂Well here in America yes you can cops and cities have been sued for arresting people for doing that and now they don't arrest people. high beams left on yes by all means flashing back let them know. people drive with that little blue light on in their dashboard they think that's the symbol of you have headlights on but it's not it's high beams on😂
yeah always flash the lights to alert to the piggies. Also if someone's high beams are on i give a quick flash to show that they are blinding everyone.
It's the normal practice but I believe it is illegal. In WA at least. Different states have different traffic laws so may not be uniform across Australia.
Yes you can just dim your lights a couple of times to let them know something is ahead of you That's what we do here in the states, and we do that in our semi's.Tractor trailers over the road trucks your road trains
I've done the flashing my lights off and on before, but I don't think anyone ever caught on...however, I felt like I at least did my part in hopefully helping someone else out. lol
In Norway, alerting other drivers to an ongoing traffic monitoring situation like a mobile speed trap or drug screening is illegal. Any time of day. It can cost you your license.
I don't know about the cop thing but here in Canada flashing your high beams at someone with theirs on is a definite yes. People with cb radios do share the local of police.
Just giving you the technical answer here in Texas. Its not illegal to notify others of police posted up ahead on the roadway, but it is illegal to flash ur high beams at other cars causing the light to be aimed at approaching vehicles.
I've seen this video before. 2 paper towels 1 spud. While it is a curtesy to flicker the light to let people know about a cop ahead it's actually illegal in the states. The same goes with blinking your bright lights at someone because they have theirs on.
We do the same here in the US flashing to alert to a policeman, accident or something other drivers should be aware of. And it is courtesy to either return with a flash yourself or a quick wave of thanks.
That is absolutely OK to do, I feel a faster paced flash is less blinding than a slower one. Also a single flash from the recipient means thank you. Other acceptable reasons for this could be a car accident, tree branch or other obstacle in rd such as a large animal, here we have moose, deer and bear.
I flash for oncoming high beams but never for speed traps. I've seen too many accidents caused by people speeding or being reckless and do my best to keep those people off the roads
In the us flashing at people for police presence is considered freedom of speech our first amendment. Also got my rocker box. Looks great on the mantle!
it is actually illegal to flash your lights to warn drivers of a radar camera.. theres a pretty hefty fine attatched.. its never stopped me from doing it tho. As for jerks who wont drop the highbeams.. i dont flash my lights i just leave the highbeams on until they dip theirs.. seems to work..
We do it a little different. Day is the same, but at night flashing the high beams means the other guy is blinding you with his; a quick off and on with the heads telsl about the oinker. Flashing multiple quick times for a danger ahead.
Now redo your yabby pump experiment with fine gold and small flakes rather than ONE GIANT NUGGET and you'll see how much gold you lost every single yabby pump squirt you've done in your life!
There are two thoughts to this in regards to flashing. It's illegal to flash to alert other drivers to a speed trap, however it is legal to alert drivers to a hazard down the road, sheep, cows, accident or meth-head on a bender kind of thing. Some cops might see you flash drivers alerting them of a speed trap and let it slide because it slows down traffic a bit which is something to hey want anyway, or they could book you.
In the US only professional haulers pay attention to our citizen band, there are phone apps as well, commercial trades, and private cars depending on how much lead is in their foot. Manners are dead when it comes to warning anyone it is an offense if caught. Night blink about high beams is still done I'd say half ignore it. I have logged over 1.5 million miles just on a ten-year-old Garmin GPS American drive-by should come back in style. The amount of politeness was amazing.
You don't want to flash high beams at night. I've seen the police ticket people for warning on coming traffic about speed traps. The change in brightness can be seen, so gives you away.
I totally approve of the improvised lapidary tools. I am I suppose semi-pro now, and I use lots of home made and improvised tools. The purpose built stuff is amazingly expensive and a barrier to entry for a super fun and absorbing hobby.
My understanding is that it is illegal to flash your headlights to warn of a speed trap. That is considered interfering (not the correct word, could be obstruction) in the duty of police. Flashing headlights three time to warn of danger or flashing high beam to indicate incorrect headlight setting is okay.
yes always flash your lights to warn other drivers about a sneaky boi, maybey its just because im American but i always look out for my fellow drivers. I figure that either way, me warning them or the fuzz getting them, they slow down either way
One slightly longer flash if I'm being high beamed at night, two quick flashes if there's a speed trap, always done this with no problems at all.. People are getting dumber though, I've had people high beam me during the day for trying to alert them to a speed trap, we rarely get them at night where I Live .... PSD, you're a messy bugger !!!!!
