This is not a collab its a talk between devs. This is already happens in HSR with Atlus (Persona Devs) and FGO devs. Well if they put SF characters in ZZZ that would be good.

They did similar interviews with the best people in their respective field for HSR, and in the end it was only interviews. It's only marketing, do not expect something incredible

Evangelion was Hoyo's best collab. Interesting HSR hasn't done any collabs yet, but Genshin X Horizon went so badly doesn't surprise me.

Regardless of what comes from this, the relationship between Hoyo and Capcom has been established! Collabs are now on the table at the least.

They did something similar with star rail with persona , legend of hero trails , and fate stay night creators since producer was fan of those games . They was like maybe a collab one day . Recently zzz producer said game is inspired by digimon world and street fighter

I don’t know if you saw the dev interview that ZZZ just had, but one of the things they talked about in it is how they were inspired by street fighter, among other games. So while sure they could do a collab with sf6 and they would probably like to, there is a chance that they had the discussion with the sf6 devs to genuinely learn from them (while also advertising towards fighting game fans) Also, they sponsored a bunch of fighting game creators already before this announcement, so they’ve gone the fighting game angle even before the round table.

They are really forcing themselves into figthing game community for a few weeks now. Alot of fg youtubers been covering ZZZ with sponsored videos. In terms of collabs I think only star rail didn't have one so thats probably why you are not aware of them.

I'm not expecting much after the so called Star Rail and FGO thing they did. Most star rail players don't know but David had a chat with Nasu the creator of the fate series. We were hoping for something between the two games but absolutely nothing happened besides both sides talking about their works and Nasu asking if David can tell Genshin team to buff Klee. After the Spy x Family collab with SF6 which was absolutely hilarious how terrible that was, I wouldn't get my hopes too high.

They collabed with evangelion, and that was their biggest collab with a limited character and a story. They also collabed with promare and sony, but we don't talk about those (especially the Sony one😂)

deffinately curious what the announcement is gonna be, just saw a vid where they were talking about an interview with game devs and they said they had no plans for any collabs anytime soon. also makes sense for them to do something with street fighter since i've seen alot of CC's from the fighting game genre start making content for ZZZ and even wuwa as well.

Call me bitter, but ngl, this situation is kinda annoying. Because I've been waiting for a colab in Genshin or HSR for years and they didn't do shit. But ZZZ getting some kind of a collab BEFORE release. Like wtf? Oh wait, i forgot Genshin did have a collab... with KFC and we got a fucking chicken LMAO Hoyo did a super cool collab with Evangelion in HI3, but i haven't played it yet, i've started playing HI3 around 2-3 months after that. And then there's Genshin collab, but in all honesty, it was't a collab, Hoyo were forced to put aloy in the game. And the worst part is that i don't really wanna play ZZZ, because it's aesthetics is not really for me. Sadge Btf my annoyance isn't towards ZZZ, but to GI and HSR devs. I don't know why they avoiding collabs. Even between their own games like they did with Fischl

Fighting game is one of, if not the most complicated,. in term of combat system, they have all kind of crazy shit going in those games . They did a genius move for marketing for sure, but I don't know if their game can keep up with those games they try to collab with. Fighting game mechanic is more than just flashy animation, which is the only problem I have with their game right now, it's not even about the TV that piss me off, but their combat doesn't seem to have anything else stand out.

Even then I won't be playing zzz 😂

I don’t think they‘ll do a collab. Remember the HSR Devs meeting the Persona Devs? Nothing happened. Also I don’t think the FGC is a untapped market. I am from the FGC and i also know a lot of CCs that play Gacha, especially the Anime FGC people (GGST, GbFVR, MBTL, …)

Personally, I don't think they would add collab character you play as. But do think they will use the collab to expand the arcade system. Imagine playing a StreetFighter like in the arcade of ZZZ

They also did do Ayloy with Sony for Genshin, but IIRC that was mostly Sony and it fell through (as in never finished). So not exactly a first, but pretty unusual in recent times.

They've had collabs, just not often. I think this is probably a similar stunt to their Persona dev interview they had for HSR. Notice no Persona collabs, but a lot of Persona-inspired content like the DU UI.

Monster Hunter collab in the future?

I was planning on sleeping on ZZZ 100% due to not really feeling the gameplay and since I already had HSR and wuthering (Azur Promilia soon) taking my time but now I feel like I might value zzz more than wuthering if they really go for the collab.

There's also Marvel vs. Capcom which is a huge roster increase if they have access to the Marvel IP, and also Breath of Fire which hasn't been a real IP for Capcom in years.

What if they put a fighting game mode in zzz as a separate part of the game for end game content or just an extra way to play the game outside of the usual. Either have it be as is in-game visual or a retro-style arcade game for the arcade area. It doesn't have to be tied to street fighter or anything, just a permanent separate part of the game that is just "hey here is a fun extra game mode for you to play if you care or want to try out.

First off, super appreciate the MvC2 background music going, especially that song as it's my favorite stage track from the ost. MAVHEL IS BACK BAYBEE! Secondly, while Hoyo technically have collabed with other IP's in the past (namely Evangelion for HI3 and to a lesser extent Sony's Horizon series for GI) what your saying rings true: this could be a big deal. This collab would easily be the biggest IP they've ever collabed with. Nearly everyone knows Street Fighter, you don't have to be FGC to know, lol. Next, there will absolutely be crossover from communities if they handled this right, there is proof of this already on the JP side of things. Speaking for myself, I actually would have never gotten into the world of gacha if Granblue Fantasy didn't put out a Fighting Game, lol. Anyway, thanks for putting me on game, I somehow missed this teaser announcement! I don't wanna set expectations high (in fact, I have currently low expectations that we'll get a "proper" collab) but I'd be lying if I said I *wasn't* looking forward to the info drop come the 29th.

Smack quick correction. Hoyo have collabed with ips outside their own, primarily with hi3rd though. They've collabed with evangelion and promare as far as I recall.

The thing about Fighting games is that its an actual niche genre. For the vast majority of the people who play fighting games theres basically 0 overlap in what we want and expect out of these games and the Gacha genre as a whole. They're also extremely resistant to spending money half of the time. You can take a fighting game player with 1000s of hours on their main character and they would struggle to justify the price of a 5 dollar skin to themself. It's a REALLY weird demographic to aim for. I think what this is, is that ZZZ devs are genuine fans of SF6 and wanted to do a sitdown to get into the minds of the people making games that they take inspiration from. There will also probably be a collab where ZZZ characters get skins or icons in SF6. ZZZ getting SF characters seems significantly less likely to me. Not because capcom wouldn't want to because Ryu and Chun-li were literally in the Power Rangers for a bit. I just don't know if Hoyo would want to use resources on it. BUT i can see Hoyo leveraging the positive relations with capcom to try to get at their other IP like DMC or Monster Hunter etc. Way more overlap there.

Other gacha games: *holds collabs with massive IPs on mainstream genre multiple times "😴😴😴😴" Hoyo: *plans to hold ONE collab with a massive IP on niche genre "ABSOLUTE GROUND BREAKING"

I don’t think the fighting game audience will like the time gated aspect of gacha games. People who like fighting games like to be able to pickup and play and just go from fighting character to character. In Hoyos gacha games they need to throw something boring between the fun stuff, and in ZZZ it’s the T.V system. Also in traditional fighting games you can pretty much play as long as you want. In ZZZ you are time gated unless you spend money for whatever their energy currency is.

It's awesome how Hoyoverse had decided to reach out and do external collaboration with other IPs again. Just to enlighten the Smackster, they did external collabs before in fact, twice in Honkai Impact 3rd. The Neon Genesis Evangelion Collab event oin 2020 and the Promaire Collab skins last year. And oh right,the Horizon Collab with Alloy from Genshin, I never thought it was a thing, now that I mentioned it lol. 😂😂😂

This is one hell of a news bomb to wake up to. that said, i would't be to suprised about it being just a stunt to get fighting game players to try ZZZ, not them doing a full on crossover. I mean, last year they did a Promare collab in Honkai impact 3rd wich was worthless, with two 30 buck skins and only a event lightcone, nothing else and i don't think we are getting skins already in ZZZ. So lets just see what its all about before getting to hyped up.

It would be cool if there was a collab IN ZZZ but I'm more inclined to think that this might be a SF6 thing where they sell ZZZ based outfits for your avatar, which SF6 has done a few times already with other IPs (at ridiculous prices). Still would be interesting marketing by Hoyo. Maybe don't charge $30 per skin like the did for ninja turtles though. It would be a way for Hoyo to maybe reach a new audience. SF6 is just launching a new season as ZZZ launches so I could see it.

No, it's not gonna happen. They had the same interview with HSR + FGO(David Jiang and Nasu). So where's our Saber or Tohsaka? Nowhere to be found. It's also very funny that you think ZZZ won't end up in the same place HSR and Genshin are now. In terms of revenue and popularity. I think the same people like you thought HSR wouldn't be as popular as Genshin.

As much as I would love for them to collab with other IPs willy nilly, I think the IPs they collab with have to actually make sense in-universe, in terms of aesthetics and mechanics. For Capcom, I can see IPs like Megaman or even Monster Hunter fitting in, since those already have a more stylised anime look to them. Street Fighter and DMC, though mechanically would work with ZZZ, they'd feel out of place (at least for me). SF6 does come close, but I still feel it'd be odd to add them to the game

I'm honestly more excited about potential Kuro collabs, but I fall into the wrote hoyo off camp. They've been doing a great job with star rail, but how they treated Genshin will always leave me expecting the same behavior from them. The problem with collab units is they tend to be incredibly limited, and are either terrible or ridiculous. I think the right way to handle them is how HI3 handled the genshin collab with fischl, they brought her into the game, damn decent support, fun to play, and ultimately farmable. Even just re-releasing them or adding them to a standard pool after a certain amount of time is good. PGR has a collab with nier where the characters were pretty good, it will always piss me off that I'm forever missing a few characters on my account just because I didn't play at that time though.

trailblazer in a fighting game would seem good on paper with a switching path mechanic with different skills and playstyle. just look at dante in the mvc series as the closest example.

Way back when I played Summoners War (a gacha), they did a colab with Street Fighter. At the time Ryu and M Bison became top of the meta. Street Fighter colab does not mean it can only happen for fighting games.
