@@macuser7048 look up a game called BCV: Battle Construction Vehicles. It's fun as hell, albeit a bit janky, but the jankiness makes sense because you're controlling slow janky construction vehicles in the first place. It only came out for PS2, was never in arcades unfortunately. But it's a one on one fighting game where you control various construction vehicles and fight the enemy construction vehicles and it has everything a fighting game should have, like combos, special attacks, a super meter of sorts that lets you do big cinematic attacks which destroy half their health like super meter specials are supposed to do, and so on. Buy a copy and play it on an old PS2. Or just use a PS2 emulator. Either way, give it a try, it's whacky as hell but it's very fun all the same. And it had like a surprisingly deep anime story going along the whole time in between fights too.
That's what indie games are now. They're the games of the past. They just don't get the recognition from the mainstream unless its super popular. But then again, this game feels indie. Like, it looks like it was made by a small team back then. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Justin was secretly playing basketball back in the day and has intrinsic hoop knowledge. He just doesn't tell anyone that he does. This game proves it. 😋
@@CMCAdvanced accent is something different. accent is pronunciation influenced by your mother tongue in a foreign language. if its in your own language is called dialect but the word youre looking for is slang.
Same!! It's the only PS1 game I have ever played, and I too liked it because Takehiko Inoue was behind the character designs. Also because I thought it was a videogame of his other basketball manga Buzzer Beater.
Yo Justin! In case you haven't, try Garouden Breakblow fist or twist. It has cool characters(manga is also awesome) and a very unique fighting style. The game also has Yujiro Hanma as a guest character. :)
1st lemme say this video has everything I love...(conceptually)...basketball, fighting games and anime vibes. But Justin...what is/where did you find this game, lol. 2nd this video was edited to perfection 😭😭😭. I must say tho...watching you play these obscure/gem fighting games is a blast. Keep it up Jus 💪🏾👊🏾💢🎮
Funny how once he figured out how most of the game works, he won by doing three things over and over again, the dodge and run, and the tail ball steal, or the side step and shove. Game still looks interesting though and never thought about something like this was a thing
Not exactly a "Fighting Game" but when there's a Basketball that you can beat the frik out of each other, I always think of Nekketsu Ganbare Dunk Heroes. There's that Megadrive/Genesis game too.
I had this game when I was living in Japan. I got it because i was a huge fan of the manga slam dunk. The artist inoue takehiko was the art director of this game.
Awesome video Justin, Is always enjoyable, when you get with the game mechanics cause that ends at us, watching you enjoying a game :) That is always better
Didn't know about this game, but looks very unique. It would be nice if more companies try different spins on fighting games like this one or more indies like Lethal League or Nidhogg.
I love when developers come up with such unique and creative ideas for a vídeo game. We need more, because nowadays it's generic as generic can be. -.-
@@jhin1123 I think games in general these days. Thus, being generic as generic can be. One of the reasons why I support indie developers. They come up with such amazing games, even though they don't seem to have big budgets like triple A companies do, but never the less.
@@VBrancoPTYeah that's why I support indie games heavily right now. Because at least when they come out with part 2 or a new game it doesn't take 15 years to come out with the next one like Square Enix did with Kingdom Hearts 3.
I love this game though. With Duckstation, we could play this with rollback The only fighting game where you actually get to break ankles Edit: I'm genuinely happy seeing this game resurface on the Internet. I stumbled on it one day and thought I'd try it. Most fun I've had, and there's a lot more to it than people might realize. There's motion inputs (I first found them on a GameFAQs thing covering the game), you can also keep tapping up and down to move your character side to side and get around their defense, and like I said earlier, break ankles. Literally anything can be a fighting game, we just gotta experiment more
We played this at a tournament in Atlanta back in like 2008 when you and Eric V came down and brought SFIV. Someone had a mame emulator hooked up to a projector and this was on their list of games. I remember you borrowed my PS2 stick for most of the events during that tourney.
at the rate this is going, I can only wait for the megaman battle network video I have no idea which game actually has the community for versus play, but I'm pretty sure there is a community for one of the MMBN titles
Woah! Glad you recognized this game! This is my favorite ps1 game! I think I still have the save file from when i played it in an emulator in psp, it includes a secret character, Dr. T, from the Slam Dunk anime.. They made a sequel for this game, but i dont remember it to be as good as this one
I bought this game in the philippines and i was so in love with this game and could never track it down again. Never knew the name just bought it from a street vendor and tried to look though my old cds to see if i could find but never could. Thank you for this throw back!
Lol, for it's time it was an interesting and unique game. This would make a sick streetball game with updated graphics and some mechanics tweeks, the basketball gameplay is lacking. I still can't belive the Manbe can't dunk. Little dude with the stick 3s dunked but not the guy with the tail and 6 more inches on him. Lol
It took me forever to find a copy of this game, but it’s a hard one to put down once you start messing around with it. Easily my favorite Japanese exclusive PS1 title
