@@weedfreer Yes, this was September 2002, so junior would have been around 8 months old. She is now exactly 3 years old and an absolute hand full haha :)

No spoilers but gold was found today!! Metal Detecting in England is so exciting as there's so much history you never know what you might find and today's treasure haul shows just how much is still waiting to be found. Big congratulations to Gareth on his incredible discovery🙌 Detectival is an amazing event held each year in the UK where two thousand metal detectorists get together for a weekend of camping and treasure-hunting! Nicky and I have been very busy with little Johnny so this video is from a lost hard drive from 2021. We did a trip in England where we found loads and I am so glad to finally publish this episode! I hope this inspires a few of you to go search for treasure! Hi, Leigh and Nicky. This may be from 2021 but it's still just as exciting to watch. Gareth was a very lucky man. To find one gold coin is amazing.. but two of them so close to each other is a detectorist's dream. You had so many coin finds and topped off with the silver coin towards the end. Did you ever hear about the Scottish chap who decided to buy a metal detector and 4 days later, on his first time out with it, discovered 3 Anglo-Saxon gold neck tortes with pretty much his first swing, just 7 paces from where he'd parked his car! Imagine starting off your new hobby with the find of a lifetime, I wonder if he's still detecting or if he just thought he'd never be able to beat that and gave up, with his share of the £1million+ they turned out to be worth.

Great finds so far and I'm less than halfway into the video! If I may offer some advice, please don't use water on copper coins as doing so will likely remove the patina it's worked so hard and long to acquire. It will also render the coin as more difficult to identify. Okay, back to the video!
