A year and a half later, and this is still one of your best reactions ever. The fact you actually wanted to drop the video entirely and very slowly learned to enjoy the suffering that is this movie is the best thing ever.

As other people have pointed out, the opening is a reference to the immortal classic No Country for Old Men. Specifically, it's the antagonist he is imitating.

I am SO glad you're doing more NC videos! When I first saw the title, my mind confused it with Drop Dead Fred, which is another awful movie he did a review of. Definitely watch that one, too, some time, in addition to the commercial specials.

Here's a big recommendation, Doug's official first NC review, Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue. Until recent years, this was the closest thing he had to a traditional review. Seeing it there at the start, the First Viewing is arguably better than the review itself, and would be worth a reaction. EDIT: Just went and watched it again, and it's actually a great continuation to the review, honestly. In regards to the video issues, since you use streamlabs products, while I'm not certain this will fix it, you could try xsplit broadcaster. It's what I use for streams and, if you're just recording, using the free version might be useful. Oh wow, been a long time since I actually watched the review and not the first viewing. Pretty sure the opening is a satire of the movie No Country for Old Men. It's...I don't remember. I was too young to keep myself invested when I watched it. It's a slow burn movie. Clearly, I've pushed a lot of this out of my mind, as I completely forgot the hospital scene. Oh hey, more No Country for Old Men. Oh, nice of them to outright say the parody, making my comment worthless. I knew I was gonna enjoy paying full attention to your face for the sausages scene. 30:30 That would be a clip of the movie Scream, which opens with then up-and-comer Drew Barrymore being first victim in the slasher movie.

Watch anything from his Nicolas Cage month episodes. Between the Critic's mockery of the movies and the acting from Cage that needs to be seen to be believed, it should be very entertaining. They even wrote lyrics for his intro theme song for these episodes that he sings while doing a Nicolas Cage impression. Also, his review of a movie called "The Pest" left the Critic pretty broken too.

I know i tend to only comment on the TF2 reactions, but i felt like i could give a NC recommendation. I 100% recommend the Nostalgic Critic Commercials reviews, there is an entire playlist dedicated to the commercials specials on his channel.

Never saw this film. And judging from what I've seen and heard, it's probably a good thing I didn't see it. 26:40 fun fact, in the "first watch" they do of this film, Doug and his brother rob actually have their jaws drop during that scene, and are so impacted by it that they actually have to stop the film and take a break to mentally recover, to the point that after that they feel like they have transcended reality to true zen.

Fun fact if you watch the first viewing from Doug and Rob Walker this is the movie that broke them, kangaroo jack also broke them but that’s because they were drinking watching that one right after green lantern.
