My first computer as a child in the 80's was a 130XE. It looked similar to that one, maybe bigger? Same tape deck.

What a great collection. In my late teens/early twenties l had a ZX81 (only 1k), then a CPC 464, and an Atari 800 with disk drive (my cassette using friends thought I was from the future). Great times.

Nice haul and rockin' hair! Found a 130XE for $20 as a teenager. Great system, crap keyboard. I think there are/were some aftermarket ones for XE and ST series Ataris with "chewing gum" keyboards.

It's a great hawl there ....... some really good games there. Although, Head Over Heels is one of my favourite games, the Atari 8-bit version takes about 30-40 mins to load (I sh*t you not) and it's not a great version. I very nearly bought the same lot of stuff off the person you got it off, but passed on it as I already have a lot of Acorn Elk and Atari 8-bit stuff as it is ....... glad it's gone to a good home. As for the "Plus 1" - it's an expansion system for the Acorn Electron, it gives the Elk two cartridge slots, and an analogue joystick port. The Elk is a great system that really doesn't get enough love. Despite it's limitations, there's some great titles on it. The Atari 8-bit is also a very interesting system as well, a few nice titles for it. I have the C64 version of SF2 ...... it's not great, but it's a little bit playable - it's the Amiga version but slower and much smaller sprites etc. also, very long multi-load!

Going back 39 years, it's Christmas 1983, and you're one of the few people to get an Electron. By next Christmas no one will want one and Acorn will have gone bust. There's an excellent Wikipedia page on the Electron. It says the Plus 1 has to be disabled for some games to work: " To disable the Plus 1, after pressing BREAK, the following commands could be issued *FX163,128,1 ?&212=&D6 ?&213=&F1 ?&2AC=0 "

Wow, another epic retro haul . I'm still yet to get a better condition electron. I have a micro, but most electron I come across are messed up . I've been collecting the atari 8 bit carts recently. I surprisingly find them in the wild I will get a atari 8bit computer soon, lol . Upto I was searching for a better electron I didn't know of the expansion. Apparently, it's uncommon, but I want one, though I must think of space, lol. I'll probably just upgrade my electron first, lol . So does this mean Patrick becomes a higher rank now 🤔 lol
