I can't believe what Snapshot did to my engine!

Progressive Snapshot caused engine failure.
Directly after using Progressive insurance Snapshot I noticed a check engine light and next my car stalled at a stop light multiple times before I could make it home. So I use a obd2 scanner and found many codes for electrical problems. I will tell you the codes found p0138 for the oxygen sensor high circuit voltage bank 1 sensor 2, p0606 ecm/pcm processor, c1241 low battery positive voltage or abnormally high battery voltage. I have more codes but this says it can possibly be the battery, charging system or the computer malfunction, bad connection or wiring. Just check out the reviews for this device. Also from many others there could possibly be a class action lawsuit starting but you can check that out for yourself. The car was driven daily and the battery was new plus the charging system was working properly.
Always talk with a professional before trying anything seen or what you hear in my videos.

Returned all of mine because 1 vehicle I rarely use would of had to be used, and it needs work. The other reason is the traffic light issue all the sudden deceleration was because a light turned amber and we don't blow thru them. To put family through that at every traffic light caused anxiety in a family member. That is not good for health so yeah it is not worth it.

I owned a 2010 Crown Victoria and enrolled in the Progressive Insurance Snapshot program using the (OBD II) plug-in device. The FIRST AND ONLY time I plugged it in, the “Check Engine and Wrench” warning lights came on. My A/C was not cooling, so I put my car in reverse gear to check under the hood, and my engine died out. I had to have it towed and took it to Goodyear Auto & Tire. After several days of trying to diagnose and repair the damage, several sensors and codes were shorting out somewhere between the computer brain (OBD II) port and the dashboard. Goodyear could not determine the cause and the damage to my electrical system was beyond repair and was sold to the junkyard. As I prepare my lawsuit and National Campaign to warn 300 million consumers of the severe damage this product can cause, they have been hiding behind the law and violating the “Deceptive Trade Practices Act” for several years. Progressive Insurance admitted in court over 8000 complaints and 500,000 in claim payouts against this device.

@@texasdulce1543 They do not tell you that, if you have a strong battery and use the car every day it is not a problem. if you leave this plugged in for an extended length of time it will kill the battery. I know this because I left a 321 bluetooth dongle plugged into my daughters car and after a few weeks parked the battery was dead. I charged battery and tested good, only to find the car had a battery draw to which I unplugged the 321 diag tool and draw went away. live and learn.

We had experienced a full resetting of our electrics in Chevy Silverado, the first outing in the rig after plugging in the progressive device. The speedometer stopped working or at least stopped displaying the speed. All other displays were reset. Realizing the device was the only change we recently did, we removed it. Reset truck by unplugging the battery. So far, everything is back to normal. We will continue to monitor the trucks performance to make sure we don't have permanent damage.

I drive a 2015 lincoln MKT, i have never had any issues with it until i plugged that thing in. One day I was passing someone and my car went into limp mode and the engine light came on. I had to pull over and turn my car off and then back on and it luckily seemed ok. Then it intermittently hesitated when shifting gears. No codes at all. The dealership said i probably needed a new transmission (at only 119,000 miles) and wanted $8000 for that🙄 I took it to my friend who unplugged the snapshot and reset everything with the Forscan software and it shifted fine after that. That thing isnt worth the meager savings i got from it!! I love my car and was devastated thinking I'd have to trade it in or spend all that money on a transmission already! I just pray no permanent damage was done in the time i used the snapshot device. NOT WORTH IT!!!!!!!!

It’s just a reader. It can’t affect the engine in anyway. It’s only job is to detect sudden acceleration and deceleration as well as total drive time. It’s never harmed anyone’s engine or electrical system.

I have several issues when using it in my 2014 Ford F150. It effected my fuel gauge and fuel range monitor, my odometer making it read a mile about every 10th of a mile and occasionally causing hard starting. It was causing it to not get fuel when starting. I had that same device from progressive insurance and when I had it plugged into my OBD2 on my Kia forte made my car so it would not start when I plugged it in and when I unplugged it and left my car set for a few minutes it started right up I plugged it back in and left my car set for a little bit and that progressive device cause my car not to want to start again so I sent it back and told them that I refuse to deal with this garbage of being so yeah I returned it and they raised my insurance I refuse to be tracked by some insurance company I think this is ridiculous that they can't trust their customers than they're not a good insurance company to deal with but I'm still with progressive insurance for now don't know how much longer because they told me they might not allow me to continue to have insurance with them because I have a 2012 Kia forte has one of the most stolen vehicles in United States as of now and they only allow you me to have liability insurance because of having a Kia forte and on top of that if you are trying to get insurance through progressive and you have a 2012 or newer you might want to be where they are not taking anybody who hasn't already had insurance with them they will not accept any new people with Kia products at their insurance company I found that out when I tried to get my insurance to be lowered back down they said they're not taking any Kia products because of the theft going around of their products so I know this has nothing to do with this guy's thing but it's something you guys should know anyway keep up the amazing RU-vid videos

I narrow down the drain to the snap shot. Unplug the device recharged battery now I’m back to normal. I’m researching the electrical draw from the snap shot device. Comes in at 60ma the is equal to a small lamp. No wonder a battery drains. It’s like leaving your interior cab lamp on all night. Solution unplug the device.

Wait you say Scion and you are testing a Hyundai. Then I looked at your codes, that reader is looking for battery voltage circuit 30, key on /run 15 circuit a ground circuit, I have a hard time believing they are going to tap into the engine management that would interfere. They more than likely check the charge voltage to know if the car is running. As for the device it is a device that can track your every move just by the location of said unit. I move my cars in the driveway it see's the move and it gives you a distance too.. Those codes for O2 sensor i believe the sensor is failing and just a coincidence that is all. As for the p0606 that would be a mystery, my thinking is that there may be a questionable connection possibly at computer or ground of the computer and maybe that device is just enough to cause you havoc. I have 4 of them in my cars and not experiencing any ill-effects. my vehicles toyota dodge, chevy... If I were you I would be doing a test on all the terminals of the engine computer making sure none of them feel weak in a pin fit feel, then I would check powers and grounds. I think you are going to find the cause there.
