I worked at Top Gun in Orange Beach for a while after a buddy of mine bought it and Mo-Fishing from the former owner, and was looking for folks to man it. I live in Pcola, but agreed to do it since I was retired and thought it would be fun. I told my buddy that I didn’t know enough to work in a tackle shop, but he said, “all the customers are tourists, and they won’t know that you’re just making it up.” It was true, but one thing I learned very quickly, was keeping live bait was very difficult - the most difficult part of the business. Without live bait, you lost a lot of traffic. Our bull minnows came from Mobile Bay, and there was one bull minnow man, and he was as old as dirt. When he didn’t deliver, we lost money. Same with shrimp, fiddler crabs, etc. we actually made quite a bit of money selling live pinfish during snapper season, which we caught ourselves. We also cast netted menhaden and sold them frozen. I hope you guys are successful. It’s a tough business, but best of luck to you. I’ll be over to visit as soon as you get opened up.

Not intending to be rude or negative with my comment just stating my experience as its different then someone elses. Depends on the state. Some consider bluegill as game, others do not. Like where I live I want to to say they aren't considered "game" fish persay but only certain bodies of water can be fished with net because in some bodies of water they do consider them game. Its really werid and hard to follow, they are but they arent, if you know what i mean. My main issue where I live, they absolutely freak out about transporting live fish from body of water to body of water. Even private ponds now. They even check to make sure you drain your live well now because of some bacteria spread. But every state is different.

@@joelmitchell4289 if you're referring to their store, its in Gulf Shores Alabama and depends on where he was catching the bluegil whether it is on the Alabama side or the Florida side.
