In this video Jessica discusses how to adhere vinyl to canvas, burlap and wood. Canvas, burlap and wood all have rough surfaces. A lot of times it works best to smooth out the surface by either painting your pieces or spraying them with a clear coating of some kind.
Jessica goes through each example and the difference between the painted and unpainted sides of each project. She uses oracal 651 permanent adhesive vinyl for each example.
The video demonstrates how much easier it is when canvas, burlap and wood are painted.
If you don’t want to paint or put a clear coat on your project you can push down on the transfer tape while peeling it off and try to get it to work that way. Make sure your paint has cured for at least 24 hours before starting your project.
