Talent like this comes along once in a blue moon! This you man is just naturally talented. I think that if he keeps on the right track and not get distracted by today's perils he will have a great future. I feel that he's already as talented as some of the big name guitarist out there now.
Brandon I saw ya on school of rock and been a huge fan since. Showing ya to everyone I know!!! Remember me when you're big time cause I promise the world is gonna know who you are
Brandon, i love the lyrics to your new song, you are da bomb, you get better with each gig you play , and also The Phantom Of The Opera, @ Madison Square Garden!! You are just too m uch for words!!!!
This is wonderful, Brandon. First, thank you for the saxophone sound. There aren't nearly enough horns anymore. Second, this is a great song with a lot of passion and talent behind it. It makes me want to sit at the drum kit and play along with you. Well done. Thank you for sharing.
Brandon is great. If you like horns check out The Marcus King Band. Marcus is one of the best talents to come in a long time and his horn section is excellent.
hi , i have just discover your music, and i enjoy it...i had a discussion with a friend. For him, you loose your childhood by making music at a high level so early in your life...for me i think you are born to do this, because guitar is so hard and you feel it. i see a lot of pleasure and you look focused on what you are doing...so what do you think?
Mark Kelly i just had to reply to your comment!! i said exactly the same thing a while ago in comment!! i only "discovered" brandon very recently and i've been amazed by the echoes of my favourite guitarist carlos santana in his playing!! i have heard carlos play live three times over the years and grew up "dancing" in the dark to samba pa ti back in the early 70's!! like you i don't hear hendrix but santana!! it even crossed my mind that i'd like to hear him playing on a prs guitar like the master himself!! i really think that brandon is the leader of the pack of the current crop of young guitarists!! toby lee is the other outstanding talent imo. it's hard to pick them apart talentwise and i understand that the two of them are friends!! sweet!! i like brandon's musical diversity. jazz funk soul blues sort of set up which suits me just fine!! serious sophistication with a saxophonist in his own band!! this is not only music but an art form as well!! i'm still scouring youtube to find more of his stuff on other sites. maybe just maybe oneday i'll hear him do some santana covers. i will certainly be watching his super fast fingers and soulful playing very closely from now on!!
john doe He has lots of influences. Dereck Trucks is his idol. Saw him in bar at 10 years old. He played Whipping Post closed my eyes thought it Duane Allman at the Fillmore
A former student of mine is good friends with Brandon and referred me to him. I'm going to preface my comments by first stating that I realize he is only 15 or 16 and still at an age where he is absorbing and trying to make sense of the all the music he is hearing as well as the unfair and inappropriate comparisons to fully formed artists such as Hendrix, Santana and others. I am a professional musician as we all as a teacher the young man's talent is obvious. What should also be obvious to everyone who is already deifying him is that he, Brandon, is nowhere near being a fully formed artist himself. I read that John Mayer said that he is creating his own unique voice. Mayer is usually wrong about most things he critiques and this is no exception. I have listened to hours of Brandon on RU-vid and his immense ability is overshadowing is search for a unique voice. I believe he will find it but it will take time...a lot of time. I am looking forward to his journey of self-discovery and how his artistry will evolve. That's always exciting to see. My concern is that with everyone kissing his ass on line and anywhere else they can find him he could end up, like so many other child prodigies, simply repeating himself, which is what I hear him doing now and which is natural for any artist. I would love to see him break away from the entire jam scene and work with artists who are going to force him out of his comfort zone. As Hendrix and Alan Holdsworth (2 completely formed artists who spent years discovering their true voice) both said in different ways, it is only when you are out there by yourself, hanging on by the skin of your teeth, paralyzed with fear, then do you find your true voice. At some point that happens to all of us. If and when that happens with this enormously talented young man, I will be eager to see the results.
Love the guy; no doubt. I do think there's too many folks on stage. Maybe he's still absorbing too many influences all at once and trying to do it all. That BU vocalist needs to go. But Taz N. is amazing. The pacing of that solo...
