Btw i forgot *van de Beek* - even though he came in before ETH took over MUFC , and is already out , but technically would count as player number 7 ( he was part of that Ajax 2019 team ) and i might have forgotten others ?! Anyway back to your question : the thing is , players that have been just brought in , should not be immediately sold. I mean , if you add all these players up : potentially over 150 million GBP lost/written off? If not more.... I need to double check.... look at what happened with Sancho..... maybe that's a reference point..... I am not an expert , accountant or anything , but like G.Neville said apparently the UEFA Financial Fair Play rules are being tightened , leading to a kind of team salary cap tied to each's club individual revenue... So selling De Light & Mazraoui would not be a good idea , unless some Saudi club wants them ( especially Mazraoui ). And i can tell you , even though it all looks like a mess right now , not all of these players are duds. I can remember good games from De Light & Mazraoui for Bayern last season in UCL , so i don't even know how they were allowed to leave Munich. Keep in mind they were starters at Bayern in the semis IIRC... Martinez seemed to have had injury problems. Onana i would try to get rid off , if for a potential ban incoming ( like Pogba ) alone. Antony is a case of coming from the favelas to the biggest club in England and therefore the richest most competitive football league in the world... his head is clearly not in the right space. I feel a great man-manager with empathy , psychological skills & patience could get him back to being a great creative player. His case reminds me of Sancho. All in all the problem is simply this : ManUtd would take huge losses on each player , maybe at least 50% each , and they have astronomical wages , there is basically no market for them. Only the Premier League or Saudi League. But look at the Premier League - there is at least 6 - maybe even 8 - clubs who might finish in front of United ... why would they buy out of form players with huge wages ? Real Madrid seems quite content & well set up , Barcelona has no money , neither do the Italians , PSG ? Don't think so..... The best option , going back to your initial well made comment : this is ETH's team , they fullfilled his wishlist , so it is up to him to make it happen & initiate the turnaround. This is like a textbook example of what not do in terms of catering to the wishes of one single guy within an organization ... i can only hope for United that they somehow start getting those mirage wins and start going on a streak ASAP. But then you listen to ETH , you look at the guy , never seen a more stubborn bloke in that position. To me he makes Van Gaal & Mourinho look like good guys to hang out with. And i might add : for a Dutch guy , his English skills and communication is not even on the level of a 4th tier league team coach to be honest. I was shocked at the beginning , ...... and i am still in shock. And maybe i shouldn't say this as a German , but whoever hired him , should have listened to his gut feeling , which was undoubtedly similar to mine : this is a bad idea , just on public speaking skills alone! One of those things were you have your first day or first 10 minutes of something new you are starting and have planned out nicely , like going to study a certain major at university , first day , only then within the first few minutes you get this extreme level of dread and anxiety , realize you made a colossal error of judgement to immediately turn around , walk out & quit right then and there. But the British manners & niceness probably worked against oneself (?)( that how you would say it?) in this case ( assuming the guy responsible for ETH is a Brit ) Sorry for the rambling rant! I really need to go to bed now. But was fun chatting to you , even though i can't definitively answer your question and still hope for the best. Btw , if they DO replace ETH , i would caution against Tuchel ( as if anyone would listen to me ha ).
