Genuinely don't understand how someone can be THAT RACIST to people who have never done anything to them personally.

I'm part native American, part Mexican, and part American, when I get told to go back to my country, I simply tell them then give me my land back, people look at me and I tell them there the ones who should go back to there country since my people owned this land before they came. It normally shuts them up at that point.

The most racist moment I ever experienced myself: I work in retail and I do speak a little Spanish as many customers where I live speak Spanish. Many do appreciate that I can speak some Spanish, but one Hispanic customer told my coworker (who is Hispanic) to tell me not to speak Spanish because I'm white (I am, by the way). My coworker was so embarrassed by the customer and when he told me, I pointed out how racist the customer's comment was and told him that was like me telling him not to speak English because he's Hispanic, which I would never do as I'm not racist. (I was simply using that above statement as an example of how rude that customer's comment had been). Thankfully, I've not run into a customer saying that again and a lot of the customers are elderly people who appreciate when someone takes the effort to understand Spanish and speak it in order to help the customer. Don't let anyone tell you what language you should or shouldn't speak because not only is a comment like that rude, but it's also racist.

I use to help at an Alpaca farm and sometimes people visit to see them. One day a bus full of senior citizens came to visit. And I said hi to a few. And this one lady started a conversation about eye sight (i have glasses and so did she) but the conversation took a turn when she started ranting how i should only go to White doctors for my eyes because if a Chinese doctor looked at them they would purposefully ruin my blue eyes with lasers and force my eyes to change color. She went on and on how i needed to protect my blue eyes from the nefarious Chines Government. And I just stood there, dumbfounded and trapped. I just stood there trying to 1) figure out how to end the conversation (t’was awkward as hell) And 2) not say some smart-ass comment because what else do you when faced with that level of BONKERS conspiracy theory? (This was like a 10 minute unhinged rant from the lady)

I would’ve kicked my dad out honestly. I have no desire to be around people who can’t even function normally if a member of another race is near them. That level of racism baffles me as to how anyone actually thinks that way.

I’m a nurse practitioner but was an RN for 15 years prior. At one point I worked in home care. I’d visit elderly patients in their home for vital assessments, wound care, medication management etc. I saw quite a few WWII vets who were very similar to the grooms dad and had live in or daily care from HHAs or CNAs who were from a minority race. I’d listen to the rants of these men complaining about the minority help. The shocking thing to me, was not the blatant racism, but the fact that most of the minority healthcare workers just let it rolls off their backs. They would even laugh about it, making jokes to the older men. Very sad that they had become that numb to the behavior but what was surprising was that their jovial attitudes 9/10 won the hearts of these older men and they came to love their aides. Crazy world we live in.

Yeah, I can't understand racism. Why does it matter what someone looks like, or what Shade their skin color is, or where they were born? They're as much human as you or I.

My bf's parents hating me and calling me a golddigger because I am not white. I have a higher education and salary than their son. I constantly fight him to pay for some of our dates and I shower him with gifts and the love and attention he never got.

I am whitnessing it at the moment. My mum wants to sell her house and Restaurant and the realtor (the man who is looking for buyers?) Is about my mums age, maybe a little younger (55-65) and he is super friendly when potential buyers are around but as soon as they are gone he calls them "those ppl" "ppl with a backround like that" etc. Even when my mum (german in Germany) told him that the Thai couple that potentialy wanted to buy was parents to a friend of mine, he called them "not trustworthy" and "ppl from where there from" ... Like dude they live in Germany for 3 decades and have a second gen. Restaurant of their own. They want to expand their business. My mum asked him multiple times to stop talking like that. Also he hates tattoos and talked down to me and my sister and other clients who looked at our house because of the tattoos... Like dude worse customer service

Wealthy white family friends showed up to my chines friend’s wedding in Quipaos. The thing is this wedding was absolutely in no way a traditional Chinese wedding or tea ceremony. It was a normal American wedding. But this family kept choosing to call it an oriental wedding.

My mom and I were at the grocery store, we were in the checkout line and an older white man was in front of us saying “this is the only place I can shop now because I keep getting kicked out of places.” Me and my mom of course share a confused look and share a kind of knowing look. He then says “of course these damn Mexicans taking our jobs.” The thing is that my mom is clearly Hispanic…I was so tempted to talk to my mom in Spanish in that moment.

Most racist thing I witnessed/heard was at an old retail job. Was talking to a customer on the phone about something I cant remember and I asked her who she was talking to. Instead of saying the girl with dyed hair, the one with a really thick accent, or an attempt at their name, they just referred to her as the “colored girl behind the register”.

Out of all places he chose to do this at his son’s wedding absolutely despicable.
