I must have been 4 or 5 the first time I heard this song on the radio. When I first started driving in 1975, I got a job at a restaurant and started purchasing 8-track tapes of all the great singers and bands that I grew up with. One night in 1976, me and a bunch of friends were heading to Valley Forge Park, when my one buddy pulled out my tape of Ray Charles, and the next thing I know we were all singing along to I Can't Stop Loving You.

Estimada Conciencao Aparecida, muchas gracias por tus hermosas palabras, creo que no merezco tantos elogios. Tuve la suerte de poder estudiar Biología en la Universidad de Madrid y fui un privilegiado al conocer, en la residencia en la que viví, a un gran musicólogo agustino que fue el responsable de mi amor eterno por la música. Se llamaba SAMUEL RUBIO era un sabio exquisito de la música clásica y el bel canto.Pero cuando conocí a RAY CHARLES, yo era un adolescente, y quedé enamorado de su música. Con RAY nació en mí una profunda sensibilidad por el arte musical y ya nunca me desconecté de él. Y fui descubriendo nuevos géneros musicales. En Madrid asistía a clubes de jazz y de blues. Con D. SAMUEL me iba introduciendo en la música clásica y en la ópera y tuve la suerte de que me llevara con él a conciertos maravillosos e inolvidables. Posteriormente realicé un programa de radio semanal de música de jazz. Se llamaba CLUB DE JAZZ y su música de cabecera era el maravilloso tema TAKE FIVE interpretado por el genial DAVE BRUBECK. Me temo que me estoy alargando demasiado y no quiero cansarte pero, para mí, hablar o escribir sobre música es casi una adicción. LA MÚSICA, junto con LA NATURALEZA, representan los dos ejes más importantes de mi vida y toda ella gira alrededor de esos dos pilares. Son mis dos mejores amigas y mis dos mejores amantes. Son muy generosas porque me dan TODO y no me piden NADA. Ellas me hacen reír, llorar, sentir y saben sacar de mi todo lo mejor que tengo. Con ellas asoma la parte más intimista de mi personalidad. Sería muy bonito poder conocerte y poder intercambiar nuestras experiencias. Me gustaría poder contactar contigo pero no sé cómo hacerlo de forma privada.
