Paid extra money for a quality cv axle
cv axle seated in properly and will not pull back out
There is a very slight ticking sound when putting it into gear but perhaps it's normal and I'm looking too far into it
a very slight noise can be heard while driving that sounds like crickets a little. On one street the noise halted upon slowing down but on Riverbend the noise did not stop when coming to a full stop and revealed itself to be nighttime summer crickets. Its kinda screwing with my head a little bit.
perhaps I didn't pack enough grease into the wheel hub?
or perhaps the cv axle needs to be knocked in a little with a deadblow or gently tapped in better?
in any case the vibration in the steering wheel that was there before persists now.
wheels appear to have weights on them and were balanced when installing tires... I am stumped.
ball joint on the outer tie rod had quite a bit of wear...
But no problems with wandering...
upon getting on the highway, the vibration seems to smooth out.
also ever since cleaning the maf, the car is acting very strange.
it wants to downshift where the car wouldn't before. its much more sensitive to downshifting than before. there's a slight misfire here and there giving it throttle and upon reaching higher rpms, I am not getting very good boost. boost is still there but not at its full potential like before. I don't believe heat could be the problem, though high iats in hot summer Temps could contribute to that, especially with the ic pump down(no way to cool the supercharger). car should have no problem melting tires all the way through first.
also the stainless steel muffler appears to have blown out the baffle, making an awful raspy noise.
we paid $500 for that exhaust system from zzperformance, why?
its only been in use for less than 2 years.
I have never in my life struggled so much with a car?
I paid good money for all these parts to have this.
I just want to enjoy my budget build and have a reliable car.
the power im making should be reliable too. I'm only making about 300whp max at its full potential. I'm happy with that on a 4 cylinder daily.
id really like to have this behind me so I can put my efforts towards rebuilding the 350 into a 383 for my camaro.
its been nothing but car problems since I've been here over a year. never seen anything like it.
Anyone watching want to offer some help. please do, I need it. I'm doing this all by myself, i ain't got no friends or anyone to help me here and I can't afford to take it to a shop.
I don't know why I keep getting the shyt end of the stick in life.
im just trying to make it out here and do what in my heart, makes me happy.
After being gang stalked and losing my family to a corrupt system I came out here to heal and have some respite. Not more gang stalking and to swim against the tide further...
Im just trying my best to good for myself and others and don't deserve all this...

Update Axle was removed and stub end was packed with grease. Guide said to use minimal grease with stub end but they were wrong. Always use plenty of grease on both ends of the cv axle when replacing. The car is now quiet in gear and doesn't make that sound anymore. Luckily we didn't damage the splines. However the car now needs an alignment and has the typical loose steering wheel and off center symptoms of needing an alignment which is typical after a cv axle repair. When you remove the strut, you can be off with the camber putting it back together on these McPherson struts here.

Update power appears to drop off at 6k and also appears to be a delayed shift though normal operation of the transmission is good. This problem appeared directly after cleaning the maf. I believe now the maf is confused about the air its getting, hence the intermittent misfire, hence the eager downshift with low throttle, hence the lacking in power at hi rpms. If it is the transmission, it may be due to a clogged valve due to dirty transmission fluid and can use a clean and flush. Also the timing chain will be need to be replaced soon. The car has a blown baffle in the muffler and will need replacing. Also the ic pump may need changed. The cold air intake tube is 2.75, not 3" limiting the amount of air the supercharger can draw in, making it run somewhat rich, in time fouling the spark plugs as well. We can either revert back to our 3" hot air intake with soaring iats, but more power or go with zzps 3 inch cold air intake. More air and colder denser air to lower iats, especially during boost weather. A dual end bypass might also be needed to increase the efficiency of the supercharger to match the 2.9 pulley it has. We should be able to run 12s with all this done on all motor. We should also be able to get 300k out of the car with care. The power its capable of making isn't even close to breaking the forged bottom end or the 4t45e transmission made for v6 suv applications. We should be able to make 300hp reliably.

Update It is the cv axle not the wheel hub It appears I didn't put enough grease at the stub end that goes into the transmission. Definitely where the transmission and cv axle meet. Was seated properly. One of the manuals sais to not use grease at the stub end so I used very little. Always use grease on moving metal components. Its definitely not the wheel hub. Packed plenty of grease in there.

Update Car is now driving perfectly fine and doesn't appear to need an alignment immediately The strange sound is now gone, while driving and in gear. Works like it should. I was able to do this job in about 1 hour. Theres no need to remove the wheel hub either, just disconnect the strut and axle nut.
