Angela Rye is an American attorney and the Principal and CEO of IMPACT Strategies, a political advocacy firm in Washington, DC. She is a liberal political commentator on CNN and an NPR political analyst.
She served as the executive director and general counsel to the Congressional Black Caucus for the 112th Congress.
Featured as an influential politico, lawyer, and advocate by several publications and outlets from Marie Claire to Ebony and the Washington Post, Rye has an unwavering commitment to ensuring positive change in the political process. She is a prominent political strategist who offers regular on-air commentary for several media outlets including BET, CNN, MSNBC, and TV One. The depth of her dialogue ranges from political campaigns to more complex legislation that bears long-term implications nationally and internationally
She currently is running the boards of the Congressional Black Caucus Institute, Congressional Black Caucus Political Action Committee, Seattle University School of Law Alumni, and Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network. She serves as a senior advisor to the Government Technology and Services Coalition and is a member of the Links, Incorporated.
For the past decade, migration has been one of the leading political issues across the Western world.
Ghana is the first African country to open its doors to people of African descent from all over the world. Angela heeded this call and took a trip to Ghana. She toured around the country's beautiful sceneries, visited the CAPE COAST and ELMINA castles, the last bath, etc. “I fell in love with Ghana and its people,” She recalled, during an interview with Dentaa. “It was good seeing black people, my people, in charge of the country (Ghana)... When she said that being in Ghana felt so familiar, I felt that. I had the same experience Dec 26 2020, it felt so comfortable, so natural, it's like I had been there before. I spent the first few days wondering why I felt so connected. It was so crazy to me. My spirit was home!

Angela is in a TOUGH SPOT. By being on CNN and dealing with their specific narrative, yet being true to herself and trying to represent her community at the same time, most cannot handle it. But what I like about Angela, she still seam to be genuine and without being a sellout, which is very difficult. Let's keep praying for our sister, she's DEFINATELY in the belly of the BEAST if you get my gist. But in the BLK community there's many who don't trust her due to her position with CNN. I lover her tenacity to try to stay REAL and to keep herself well grounded.
