This is by far the highest quality spanian interview out there. I had big hopes for friendly jordies, but it didn't hit. Jordies went too meta for span. Issac Butterfield is just a right wing flop who was like a goofy teenager learning about bad kids for the first time... This interview (and I'm sure the background in policing helps) was actually engaging with well thought out questions that provoked spanian to question his own thoughts. Not pandering to spanian but getting a thorough understanding. Really great video, that's a like and a sub from me my bra. Keen on part 2. Keep it up 👏
spanian deserves all the fame and praise on the streets he gets, hes had a rough tough life and although you could say most of it was his own fault, there is no better healing and recovery than everyone around you praising you and showing you love when u walk down the street just for being yourself, i can tell hes already changed so much since he came out of jail just a few years ago.
Just a quick shout out too Gary for this amazing podcast I think this is the best one yet and I believe if you podcast with cops one night and crimz the next to get a better understanding of it all from both sides and crimz that have actually got some exciting juicey stories 😀 🤜🏼🤛🏼🇦🇺
Well done Spanian, it takes a really strong person to turn it all around. I understand how hard it is to turn around a hard hand dealt. I have had to do it myself in my 30’s cause my 20’s were just so hard. Some people never do it even though I believe that any person can turn their life around, if they put their mind to it. You are an inspiration to so many and I am so glad my son got me onto your videos ❤️
Risky interview. I can already hear the haters talking shit and drumming up allegations. Big props to Spanian for giving zero fucks what anyone else thinks and doing as he sees fit.
@@emanuel290 I stay in my lane.. don't wanna get skittled 🤣 there's rules to it and saying the wrong thing will mean a very dangerous situation for me. I don't need that in my life.
Remember when you had all the excuses in the world for why my channel blew up? It's still going now. 200,000 views now. By next Xmas it will be a million plus views. Then people will be using my channel to promote themselves. And you will still be Joe Blow the Chomo.
Imagine if cops were this open about the dirt they do when they lose it. Most cops have a criminal side that slips out from time to time. They keep it in check better than crooks, and tend to get cover ups or light punishment. Cops do a hell of a job most of the time, but they have the predator/hunter inside them too.
My Father!, Royal Australian Navy Petty Officer LES CATTON!, died on board HMAS ARROW During Cyclone Tracy 1974, DARWIN NT!, i really enjoyed his look into Palmerston!, I'm going this Year to check out MY FATHERS GRAVE!, Buried in the Navy Cemetery of Darwin!, SPANIAN!, ya a Legend!!!, you show the Places the COPS Refuse to GO TO!, keep up the GREAT WORK MATE!!!.
It's sad that people grow up in an Environment where they only know and learn about being a criminal. It takes a long time to realise that it's actually easier to live a normal life being a good civilian.
That's it... Its not a justification for the wrongs, but In reality it's extremely likely the desire to rebel or value that lifestyle is something that environment massively influences... If the first time you see someone steal like a shirt or something Ur 16 yrs old and you lived a semi sheltered life with close guidance from good role models who genuinely care about you and would be deeply dissapointed in you for doing bad things, then the gravity of someone stealing a 20 dollar shirt is significant to that person, to another person whose parents are on herroin stealing while the baby And pram become the hiding place, ur visiting relatives or parents in jail etc then that same situation at 12 yrs old , there is not even a second thought about stealing a shirt..... Obviously there is exceptions to the rule but it's pretty hard fact you put a baby into almost any situation and will become accustomed to the norms of its surroundings. The ones who do escape toxic communities for the vast majority of the time did have someone else maybe a relative or teacher who helped them or gave them the idea and positively reinforced them to seek better standards... But it's the extreme minority, even things like nutrition play a major part in exacerbating these problems and most of the time if Ur parents are on herroin Ur probably living on fruit loops or McDonalds
Isn’t this guy one of the police officers on that 60 minutes show with Liz Hayes? Did he catch Paul Denyer ? I can’t remember if he was one of the officers
I fucking love Spanian but this is pretty raw talking with a ex cop. There's no coming back from this in the jail/crim world it instantly would cause him issues with 90% of crims. Hopefully he just keeps on in the right direction cause this is a HUGE step out of the crim world. No hate it's just truth.
who gives a shit? why’s he need to be liked in that world? he openly says he is so removed from it he has no idea what goes on, none of them are going to contribute to his success besides the reformed crims who probably have no issues with majority of cops now anyways
We have the best of both worlds. One of the most respected cops in AUS. One of the most interesting crims in AUS...and respected. Jubelin put his career on the line to catch pedophiles..even with crims he should have earnt their respect.
Some the guys supposedly up holding g the law are on the wrong side. Sometimes they are the putrid animals. Hypocrisy is such survival is survival. The first time cops shoot at you as a street kid and start kicking wards of the state in the ribs. The world changes some cops are scared of me because what I've witnessed some hate it some respect me. Some crims are scum but so are some cops. Never shot at anyone never stood for hypocrisy. Some times did there jobs better than them. Without breaking my code. Lots of life debts no lives taken karma took them for me.
Just based on watching his vids, I don’t think I’ve ever been more convinced this particular individual has killed people - he’s a total psychopath with zero emotion or empathy for his victims
Nah he ain't a psychopath if he was he wouldn't of served his time in a regular jail he would of gone to a jail for psychopaths , he's just an ex drug addict who done crime to fund it then he gave up drugs and made money out of crime he's cleaver and web he sets his mind on doing summit he does it well , example being on one of his hood talks Wen he said about setting up a drug service and he built it up to being the one at the top of the line , so all this internet stuff and the music and the book he is doing everything he can to set himself up and make something of himself , all these people moaning about him wat would they rather him talking about his crimes wich is nothing new people have been rapping about there crimes since the 80s there's no difference, or would they rather he still did it , he's just talking about his life and his life has been crime I actually can't believe these people who have nothing else to do have complained about him , ,✌️
Yep when he stated that he had no remorse and didn't give a fuck about the people he'd wronged I was very disappointed that Gary let it slide. I did chuckle when he reckoned that most of Australia knows who he is. I've never heard of him and nor has anyone I've asked. He came across as an obnoxious and very full of himself arsehole.
ColussssssssssssssssAAAAA This man is changing lives he doesn’t even know about, so many young ones looking up to him and are starting to look at life different due to him speaking out, love ya work Spanian keep on being you mate, a true Australian is what I think of when I think of you, crime is just about of your passed, Spanian for PM
I was at a bus stop in the city, and needed to catch the bus to a mall. I kept asking the wrong bus and he helped me; we spoke for a bit and sat near each other on the bus. He was friendly, kind and really helpful! I can’t believe that’s him 😂 I came across this video by RU-vid recommendation 😂 this happened this year near New Years!
It wasn't until my brother was looking at buying a ground floor apartment did I realise Spanian's crime videos were more of a community service announcement. I told my brother about his videos and how crims target ground floor apartments because they're easier to break in. It's all about perspective.
Sorry Span.....I'm 67 and know who you are ❤ a great interview.....loved it, the ex crim and the ex cop 🙏🙏 I love that you have found your spiritual side. You are after all an amazing eternal soul having an earthly experience. We are all a tad lost so don't stress too much. Health and happiness to you. Eat well, sleep well and find time to look within or meditate as they say. Good luck with everything.
Of all the interviews with Spanian Garry you are the best man for it. No cop lover by any means but you sir have my utmost respect for the man and the investigator you all
"Stabbing things, this and that" - haha? Interesting life and great to see him turn his life around. Like Spanian has said, "I'm one of the lucky ones".
This will be interesting 2 worlds collide.... I'm at 26mins Gary & Big Tony should have watched some old news reels and did a walk through breakdown. Interesting watch as always
Captivating listen! Kudos to Gary for turning what was a negative, the end of your policing career, into positive through your media work, especially the podcasts - first began to take a liking to you through your work with Australian True Crime Podcast (Highly recommend ALL of their episodes). Kudos to Spanian for making the necessary changes to take your life in a positive direction whilst not losing your identity. RESPECT to both gentleman and thank-you for this podcast - will be listening to part II in the near future. B@Peace!
It's interesting to observe that individuals who have been incarcerated in Australia and America often refer to themselves as civilians upon release. They behave as though their time in prison was akin to military service. One could ponder how someone like Spanian would fare in the military.
He shows all the signs of a Psychopath. Unfortunately he is unable to feel remorse or any empathy for the people he ripped off or scared or traumatised. So to say he done his time so he owes no apologies is a sick man talking. Psychopathy is real. He truly still does not understand what he did
